I finally downloaded Real boxing after it went on sale (I think the first time?). There were no quality reviews that I found so I didn't know what to expect. As a fan of Fight Night it's the closest thing you'll get. It even uses the same joystick punching method...albeit very clunky.

Real Boxing aims to deliver a console-quality boxing game on a mobile device with mixed results. After a tutorial that teaches the basics of boxing, you create your boxer. The basic customization options are all cosmetic (e.g. hair color, shorts, tattoos) and won't affect gameplay. Your boxer's ability is determined by three factors: strength, stamina, and speed. The categories can be improved by training at the gym through simple, but not particularly interesting mini-games that require you to tap on screen at the correct time. In order to train more, you have to compete in more fights or through inapp purchases.

The game starts out strong and the early fights are enjoyable to play, however the game quickly loses momentum as you progress further in the career mode. It's not long before opponents are far too strong and can knock you out with one punch while barely taking any damage because your opponents have slightly higher speed, stamina, or strength ratings. The sloppy controls (see below) add to the frustration. To beat superior opponents you must have a near-perfect fight which detracts from gameplay and realism.

Thanks in part to Unreal Engine 4, Vivid Games has created a technical knock-out. Features baked into the engine, such as post-processing, advanced particle systems, new shader technology and realistic physics give Real Boxing 2 CREED fidelity worthy of its cinematic inspiration.

OSCAR DE LA HOYA walked into Jake Paul's locker room ahead of Paul's third professional bout, a matchup with former UFC fighter Ben Askren in Atlanta in April 2021. The Hall of Famer, who starred on the biggest stage in boxing as the face of the fight game throughout the 1990s and 2000s and was on the broadcast team that night, looked Paul in the eye and said a few words that left an indelible mark.

Jake Paul faces Tommy Fury on Sunday, Feb. 26 on ESPN+ PPV. Paul aims to remain undefeated when he faces his biggest test yet. Sign up for ESPN+ to watch the fight and much more exclusive boxing coverage.

There was no reason for anyone -- not even Paul himself -- to believe that two years later he would be boxing in main events promoted by his own company against notable names from the fight game. So far, those recognizable foes have presented themselves in the form of past-their-prime UFC fighters such as Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Askren, a gradual step-up from his first two fights, which came against fellow YouTuber and former NBA player Nate Robinson.

Fury is 23, undefeated through eight pro fights and having also competed in 12 amateur fights. Like Fury, Paul is a novice boxer, but maybe this surprising in-ring career will take a new turn. After all, this is boxing, a business masquerading as a sport, where the biggest attractions call the shots.

Paul, of course, is right. In a sport short on star power, Paul, 26, is brimming with genuine crossover appeal. He'll be afforded opportunities unavailable to other boxers. That's life. That's boxing. He has a dedicated following dating to his content-creator days on the now-defunct Vine -- 22 million on Instagram and another 20 million-plus on YouTube.

"At first, I was just knocking everyone out and I didn't need defense, and I think that's how all these influencer boxers trained," Paul said. "They all just work on offense. Defense is really what allows you to slow everything down to take your time. Everyone knows how to punch. You could go fight someone in the street right now and probably knock them out just by swinging wildly. But not everyone knows how to defend.

"We've seen Jake literally sleep guys. ... When you have that type of punching power, I would say it hides a lot of your mistakes," said Bradley, a boxing analyst for ESPN. "Jake is not the prettiest fighter; he's still developing. He's still trying to figure out how to really operate inside the ring. But he does use tactics for a novice [such as clinching] that help him during the fight.

AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM the WBC last week revealed that despite neither competitor having fought in a 10-round encounter, the winner of Paul-Fury will be ranked at cruiserweight by the organization. The decision by WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman raised eyebrows, but it came as little surprise. After all, the powers that be in boxing rarely miss a chance to jump on a money train. If Paul ends up fighting for even a minor title, the WBC will be ready to cash in on the sanctioning fees, the money that boxing's four major organizations collect from fighters, which is a percentage of the purse.

"I'm very realistic," Paul said. "I know my skill level, I know my capabilities and that's why I know I can do it. Not tomorrow, not next year, not the year after. This is a [long-term] plan. When the timing is right, lightning will strike and I'm going to become a world champion."

Argh, what a disappointment. I was going to wait for a review before jumping but it is currently 50% off so I dived. Wish I had now waited. The first game was meant to be a so-so boxing game on the Vita I think.

I don't think boxing games have been served that well on the consoles lately, have they? I remember my bro in law who used to be an amateur boxer asking regarding such games on his PS4. I think he just went for the MMA video games in the end.

That was disappointment. ?

11 years i have been waiting for a proper Boxing game on modern consoles since year 2010 but still some of developers have no idea how to make interesting boxing games.

They just stuck in how to make looks more realistic but forget the control and gameplay mechanism.

I still have never saw boxing characters like my character design from current release of boxing games.

While I was initially receptive of their hospitality for no other reason but to hoard icons on my Switch, I regained my senses and realised that my microSD space is more precious. That, and I didn't want mediocrity clogging my home screen.

I didn't really have my eye on this one, but I still appreciate negative NintendoLife reviews like this. Switch has some 'obviously' bad stuff but there are so many games which look like they might be good and it's hard to tell.

Background: Upper extremity hemiparesis is one of the most common post-stroke disabilities requiring rehabilitation. Objective: To compare the effects of virtual and real boxing training in addition to neurodevelopmental treatment on the upper extremity, balance, and cognitive functions in hemiparetic stroke patients. Methods: Forty hemiparetic stroke patients were assigned to either real boxing group-RBG (n=20) or virtual boxing group-VBG (n=20), for a total of 24 sessions (3 sessions/week for 8 weeks). The primary outcome was upper extremity motor ability (Wolf Motor Function Test-WMFT). The secondary outcomes were arm-hand dexterity (Manual Dexterity Test-MMDT), goal-oriented performance (Video Boxing Analysis-VBA), balance functions (Fullerton Advanced Balance Scale-FAB-T), and cognitive functions (Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination-Revised-ACE-R). Results: There was small treatment effect on ACE-R, small-medium effect for WFMT and MMDT and large effect on bilateral punching time [VBA (Cohen's d- VBG=0.83; RBG=0.95)] and balance [FAB-T (Cohen's d - VBG=0.89; RBG=0.82)] after treatment in both groups. No significant differences were found for training effects between the groups for upper extremity functions [WMFT (p=0.799; Cohen's d=-0.07), MMDT-PT (p=0.327; Cohen's d=-0.10), MMDT-THTPT (p=0.779; Cohen's d=-0.17) and VBA bilateral punch number (p=0.068; Cohen's d=0.15)], balance functions [FAB-T (p=0.602; Cohen's d=-0.19)] and cognitive functions [ACE-R total (p=0.947, Cohen's d=0.09)]. Conclusion: The study showed that virtual and real boxing training methods, in addition to neurodevelopmental treatment, are effective in improving upper extremity, balance, and cognitive functions in patients with hemiparetic stroke. The training effects were higher on bilateral punching time and balance functions for both groups. There was no superiority of either approach.

Michael B. Jordan's real boxing skills are on display in a Creed III behind-the-scenes video. When Adonis Creed's (Jordan) childhood friend Damian Anderson (Jonathan Majors) finally gets out of prison after 18 years, the two find each other in the ring looking to finally set their troubled past behind them. Creed III was released to positive reviews from both critics and audiences alike, garnering just over $185 million at the box office to date.

Najjar runs through a drill in the ring with members of the crew looking on and applauding Jordan's swift hands. The Creed franchise has highlighted Jordan's real-life boxing skills over the course of three movies.

Released in 1976, Rocky's Academy Award-winning sports drama laid the structural framework for all future films in the series. Except for Rocky V, the movies conclude with a climactic boxing match in a ring, most of which go the distance. Creed III proves to be no exception as the final bout pits Creed against Damian in a vicious match of stamina and brutality. Like Stallone before him, Jordan immersed himself in boxing, training and sculpting his body to simulate the look of a real fighter to bring to life a champion onscreen.

The majority of the franchise's boxing matches remain somewhat grounded in reality, generally filmed in a style that simulates watching a real fight on television. However, a number of Rocky's big bouts included stylized moments, employing flashbacks, visions, and dramatic closeups to show the boxer's emotions. Creed III took these methods a step further to convey the deeply-rooted emotions between Creed and Damian by employing avant-garde techniques and taking inspiration from anime-style fights. ff782bc1db
