The license for this font is the SIL OFL license. This license does not allow us to redistribute derivative versions of the font without wholesale name changes inside and out of the font. Until we figure out a reasonable method of delivering these to you and complying with the license, you will have to use the Webfont Generator yourself on these, renaming the fonts appropriately.

I am currently working in RStudio Version 1.2.5033I have Raleway ("Raleway.ttf") fully installed on my computer (Windows 10 OS).When I run through the standard font_import() protocol from the extrafont package, it checks through the majority of fonts on my computer, but does not import or check Raleway.

Therefore, the missing font is autocorrected to Raleway Thin (a barely readable font) whenever I export a Powerpoint (PPT) file to a PDF format. The PDF comes out with Raleway Thin fonts which renders the PDF useless.

Also, what does it say when you look at the font info in the PDF when you highlight the garbled text?

I would guess that it has no font assigned.

Also, look at the full list of embedded fonts for anything odd.

It appeared to work for some in the forum which had issues with correct font appearence in Affinity.

I assume it is the cache of all activated fonts to built the list of available fonts and their links correctly. I can not imagine what font replacement it could reset, since that can be set individually for any resource and therefore is rather stored with an .afpub but not as an application preference like the "Reset Fonts" button.

They are named differently internally and I am not sure what would happen if combined.

If you have one version, and the embedded doc has the other version -- I would expect problems.

They (Google Fonts) have made some other changes too, but I have not analyzed what exactly.

Google removed the Typographic Family and Subfamily names (why?).

The Google fonts may work online, but I would consider the Font Squirrel version to be properly named for desktop use.

It seems the problem lies in Mac OS - I had some font installed - and the problem was in duplicate font files. When I checked the font files that were making problems in the system Font Book app it said that the fonts had duplicates. I pressed the "Solve automatically" button and the problem went away.

@mattjabbar, I think you may be on to something. While I no longer know what fonts were causing my problems, I think they were fonts that were offered as part of Google Fonts; which my font manager allows you to sync with. But I'd happened to have some manually installed earlier. I've since stopped syncing with Google Fonts, and exporting PDFs has been fine since.

Thanks for the fast response. Unfortunately, that doc refers to changing the font for a form on a landing page. I've been able embed Google and Typekit fonts on landing pages and forms, but not in email templates.

Before using fancy fonts in email, consider that many email clients will not render them and fall back to default fonts. so the emails will in fact look quite differently from what you have designed, and this might be counter-productive. Of course, this point has to be mitigated with some considerations about your target market. individuals are likely to be less affected, but if you sell to B2B, keep in mind this rule of thumb, straight our of my consulting experiences:

You can import any font style from any Expo Google Fonts package from it. It will load the fontsover the network at runtime instead of adding the asset as a file to your project, so it may take longerfor your app to get to interactivity at startup, but it is extremely convenientfor playing around with any style that you want.

I want to edit the text and font of this .psd file, which is part of a tutorial here. I installed the Raleway fonts, which are also available on that website. Then, I opened the .psd file with Photoshop, but it gives the following message (in Spanish, I'm sorry):

I think you downloaded the fonts from a different place than whoever supplied the PSD. There could be some difference in the font file that makes your computer think it isn't the same font. Allow Photoshop to replace it with something similar then highlight the font you want and change it to the Raleway you have. If that doesn't work you could just delete that layer with the missing font and remake whatever was in it.

I'm a little bit obsessed with nice fonts - I love how they can impact on design and help tell your story. An aspect of design which is often undervalued is the combinations of fonts: pairing up fonts (or sometimes mixing groups of three fonts, ideally not more than three in one design) for posters, or social media campaigns, or PowerPoint presentations.

Which brings us to the third combination, which isn't technically a pair as it's just Raleway used in three different ways. I love Raleway beyond all other fonts. As long as you have both Raleway Regular and Raleway Bold installed (although PowerPoint will try and Bold non-standard fonts when you highlight them and click the Bold button, it's not the same as actually installing the Bold version that the typographers intended) they work so beautifully together, especially in all caps. The intro to UX presentation I blogged about recently used Raleway in all possible combinations (Regular and Bold in both lower and upper case) with no other fonts involved:

The other joy of Raleway is it renders perfectly on Slideshare. Some other fonts, even when you save and upload your presentations as a PDF, go a bit blocky on Slideshare, for example my LIANZA Marketing Manifesto slides, which use Raleway along with ChunkFive Roman - the latter looked great at the conference but not so good on Slideshare, but Raleway was perfect in both situations.

I am using 18.04 and Thunderbird 68.7.0 64-bit. I am ok with other default settings but font. I would like to change it to Raleway, if possible. I tried through Preferences(screenshot below) without success. Whatever I enter, I get the same default font in Thunderbird. I would at least like to have the listing fonts changed to Raleway - 24. It is ok even if the messages ( inside ) are of a different font. Any help will be great.
