SMF proxy resources can be created and managed thesame way as other resources. An SMF proxy resource differs from other resourcesin one way. When you create a resource of any of theSMF proxy resource types, you need to specify the extension property Proxied_service_instances. Youmust include information about the SMF services to be proxied by the SMFresource. The extension property's value is the path to a file that containsall the proxied SMF services. Each line in the file is dedicated toone SMF service and specifies svc fmri, path of the corresponding service manifest file.

Caution - Do not use SMF svcadm for disabling or enabling SMF services thatare encapsulated in a proxy resource. Do not change the propertiesof the SMF services (in the SMF repository) that are encapsulated in aproxy resource.

Note - If you use the clresource status command to view the state of the SMFproxy resource type, the status is displayed as online but not monitored. This is notan error message. The SMF proxy resource is enabled and running and thisstatus message is displayed because there is no monitoring support provided for theresources of SMF proxy resource type.
