Once employment has been secured, it is the responsibility of the hiring school district to enroll the teacher into the Provisional Teacher Process. A provisional certificate is then issued which is valid for a period of up to two school years.

This path is for a teacher that wants to earn a Career & Technical Education degree. The teacher would continue with the provisional process until the degree is earned and a standard certification is recommended by the university. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required along with a portfolio and foreign language.

The teacher will then have three years to complete a professional education component (semester hours and/or professional development *including 2 college credit courses: classroom management & pedagogical principals) and pass the OPTE in order to advance to an alternative standard certificate. Please see additional details on the OSDE website: Alternative Placement Program

To be eligible to take classes at Athens State in the provisional/ABC path, you must be eligible to obtain a PCTF through your employing school district. An inquiring teacher will be required to provide proof of eligibility with a copy of their PCTF certificate of a letter from their school system.

Advance your temporary, resident, initial, or provisional Connecticut teaching certificate

You can advance your Connecticut teaching certificate to the next level using either the Connecticut Educator Certification System (C.E.C.S.) or a paper-based ED 170 application form. Once your application is received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email for next steps.

Copied, scanned, or emailed versions of forms requiring original signatures will not be accepted. Only original versions of forms with signatures will be accepted.

If you hold an initial educator certificate, you can advance to the provisional level if you have met the requirements of the initial certificate. This type of certificate upgrade allows you to apply online using the C.E.C.S. portal or use a paper-based ED 170 application.

A statement of professional experience form ED 126 must be completed and signed by the superintendent, executive director, or designee of the district.

Acceptable experience includes the following:

You can complete the courses required by the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) for a provisional teaching certificate at the University of West Alabama. The Alabama State Approved Provisional Certificate in a Teaching Field (PCTF) provides educators with the coursework required to earn a Class B certificate. It allows students to choose from an approved list of courses and approach the program with just 12 credit hours.

The Provisional Certificate approach is a 3-year process from start to finish. Each year the student will teach on a Provisional certificate (First Provisional, Second Provisional, etc.). At the end of the 3-year period, the student will then take the required Praxis and will be issued a Class B teaching certificate.

These courses, along with additional requirements met within your employing school system, can lead to a teaching certificate. The UWA Certification Office does not complete recommendations for this route.

Educator certificates

Connecticut offers different levels of teacher certification based on education and experience. Educators with valid certificates from enhanced reciprocity states typically receive one of these as well.

For those individuals that qualify for the written examination a provisional certificate is available, the fee is $125.00. The provisional certificate allows an individual the opportunity to provide alcohol and drug abuse-or problem gambling counseling services while awaiting the results of the examinations. The provisional certificate is valid for a period of six (6) months and is not renewal.

The Provisional Teaching Permit may be issued to applicants who do not meet all of the recent college or employment experience requirements for a regular certificate. A Provisional Teaching Permit is valid for teaching in all Nebraska schools unless someone applies for a nonpublic certificate only. A Provisional Teaching Permit expires August 31 in the second year following the year of issuance and cannot be renewed.

The Provisional Certificate in a Teaching Field (PCTF) is for individuals entering the field of education in certain K-12, 4-8, and 6-12 teaching fields (excludes Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Special Education, and areas of instructional support). Certification based on the PCTF must be requested by an employing Alabama city/county superintendent or eligible nonpublic/private school administrator. An individual should contact the school system in which employment is desired for information concerning certificate eligibility

Applicants meeting all other requirements for certification, but who lack six (6) semester hours of credit earned during the five-year period preceding the date of application or lack three (3) semester hours of credit in Alaska studies and/or three (3) semester hours of credit in multicultural education or cross-cultural communications, may apply for a non-renewable Provisional Type C Special Services certificate, valid for two years.

In order to avoid a lapse in certification, the Provisional Type C Special Services certificate holder must submit official transcripts to the Teacher Certification office showing the completion of 3 semester hours of approved Alaska studies coursework and the completion of 3 semester hours of approved Alaska multicultural coursework prior to the expiration date of the Provisional certificate. In addition, prior to the expiration date of their certificate, the Provisional certificate holders must apply for the five-year regular Type C Special Services certificate.

Endorsements under a Type C certificate include audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, school nursing, school psychology, school psychometry, school social work, speech pathology, school counselor, and library science-media.

In the certificate, it is specifically written that, "This provisional degree is valid for all purposes till the final degree is awarded at the time of convocation". The convocation is usually in November.

However, the immigration people are not accepting it as a valid degree certificate. After this, we asked the admin office of IITD to issue another certificate specifically for us, highlighting the validity of the provisional certificate.

A 1-year Provisional Certificate of Qualification will be issued after you complete your apprenticeship in a trade that has a certifying exam. This certificate allows you to continue working in a compulsory trade while you attempt your certifying exam.

(a) A provisional certificate of compliance is issued if the facility or agency is in substantial, but not complete, compliance with applicable statutes, ordinances, and regulations. Notes of Decisions

Provisional License Since the number of regulatory violations had increased since the first inspection of the day care facility, the applicant had not demonstrated substantial compliance to be issued a provisional license. Borroughs v. Department of Public Welfare, 606 A.2d 606 (Pa. Cmwlth. 1992).

Cross References

The provisional application route is for applicants who have met all of the required formal education and training requirements, but do not have the on-the-job supervision or work experience necessary for a credential at the time of application.

The first phase is to earn provisional certification. This certification is temporary and is issued after applicants meet education, training and testing requirements. Provisional credentials are only valid for 12-months and cannot be renewed.

Phase two occurs during the provisional period. Provisionally certified individuals must complete all on-the-job supervision and work experience requirements and submit an upgrade application to obtain the full credential before the provisional credential expires.

During the provisional period, certified professionals must seek out and respond to intensive supervision, complete additional on-the-job competency requirements, and apply for an Upgrade to Full Certification at least 30 days before the provisional credential expires.

There are no current active Provisional Teaching Certificates. The next steps for educators who previously held one of these certificates is to convert it to a Residency Certificate or apply for the Substitute Certificate.

Specifically, the state has established pay increases for teachers and added incentives for STEM teachers, and has granted districts the flexibility to hire college graduates through emergency and temporary teaching certificates.

This creates a new career option for college graduates, and Stillman College, in conjunction with the already designed provisional track of the Alabama Department of Education, has created the Stillman College Provisional Certificate in a Teaching Field program (PCTF).

Under new state law, pharmacy technicians must obtain a certification from the State Board of Pharmacy (Board) by August 29, 2020. This means pharmacy technicians in Colorado cannot practice on or after August 29, 2020, without certification or a provisional certification from the Board. Governor Jared Polis signed the bill HB19-1242 - Regulate Pharmacy Technicians on June 3, 2019.

This new law went into effect on October 1, 2019, and requires pharmacy technicians practicing in Colorado on or after March 30, 2020, to obtain a certification or provisional certification from the State Board of Pharmacy (Board). An applicant for certification by the Board must pass a criminal history record check and provide proof of certification by a board-approved, nationally-recognized organization that certifies pharmacy technicians. To allow time to meet the requirements, the Board may grant a one-time provisional certification of up to 18 months to an applicant who has not satisfied certain requirements for certification. The provisional certification may be extended due to hardships. Pharmacy technicians also must meet continuing education requirements before renewing a certification. The new law states that any pharmacy technician on duty must be certified or have a provisional certification. Finally, the law includes a sunset date of September 1, 2021. While this law required certification by March 30, 2020, this certification requirement was temporarily suspended under Emergency Rule 30: Temporary Suspension of State Board of Pharmacy Rules Related to COVID-19. This suspension is ending on August 28. 2019, which means that pharmacy technicians must obtain a certification from the State Board of Pharmacy in order to practice on or after August 29, 2020. ff782bc1db
