But the biggest challenge in presenting online may be figuring out how to engage your audience in an online presentation. An InterCall study found that over 60% of people are doing other work or checking email while on a conference call. Others admitted to making and eating food, checking their phones, and even exercising.

There are few things as interesting to humans as other human faces. In fact, a study by Richard Franz demonstrated that infants will stare twice as long at faces than at shapes. If you want people to pay attention to you when you present online, make sure they can see your face.

Virtual presentations often include screen shares and visual aids that block the speaker from view. With the video presentation maker Prezi Video, you can put all the content of your presentation next to you on screen, so you can keep that face-to-face connection with your online audience, even when you refer to something visually.

Including images in your presentation is a great way to make your presentation stand out and engage your audience in an online presentation. Just by including images, your audience is likely to remember about 65% of the information three days later.

Instead of adding text to your presentation, talk through it. You should keep things moving along, and if you add text, you might want to slow down and let your online audience read it before moving on.

If you want to avoid any possibility of an on-the-spot technical fail, record your presentation ahead of time and share it with your online audience. Prezi Video makes it easy to record and save a video of your presentation. Share a link within your network or upload it to cloud platforms like Google Classroom.

These are some hands-on ways you can improve your voice for presentations, including warmups, breathing exercises, using gestures, recording your voice to understand your strength and weakness, and practicing.

Hello @Oro_Jackson, it seems like there are some firewall or adblock settings in your computer that could the blocking the syncing of the presentation. Please, make sure to check the steps on how to resolve the issue and let us know if it worked out!

Here is a pickle for you. I used Next free version. I shared my online presentation only to realise few hours later that I could see previous versions but NOT the final version. This threatens my reliability as a professional in order to show to my superiors how well I can do a small project. The semi-final version included a couple of typos. How embarrassing?!?

Hello @Evangeline_Kasdaglis, to see the latest saved version of the presentation you just need to go to your dashboard, refresh the page and open the presentation. I would suggest making sure you have stable Internet connection to avoid syncing issues. When you have stable connection the changes are automatically saved, and you can also click on the cloud icon in the top left corner to manually save the presentation. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to us.

I used to use Prezi Desktop to design prezis and uploaded to online. However, recently PD is working very badly:

1.- You can not share anymore the link of your prezi using Share link in PD, the result is a 403 error. You need to get the link via web and not Prezi Desktop

2.- Now it is hanging after updating the prezi and I have lost all the changes made tonight (not happy).

Hello @Cyril_Marie, looks like your license is active and you should be able to create presentations. Can you please try logging out and back into your account as well as opening Prezi in a different browser?

I created my presentation then created this link to share it with my friends

Now I have make a little bit changes on it so by visiting the main dashboard and click the edit botton inside to my presentation a new page opens ( _lx9ayayv/)butbut) only loading loading loading and no thing

Hello @omar_emad, we have investigated your presentation and from our end everything seems to be working correctly, you can check in this video. Could you please make sure there are no firewall or adblock settings in your computer that could the blocking the editing?

Prezi is a web-based tool for creating presentations (called prezis for short). It's similar to other presentation software like Microsoft PowerPoint, but it offers some unique features that make it a good alternative. In recent years, it has become popular in schools and businesses. If you're looking to create a presentation that's a bit more eye-catching and engaging, Prezi may be for you.

Most types of presentation software use a slide-based approach, where you move back and forth between individual slides, kind of like pages in a book. Prezi, however, uses a canvas-based tag_hash_109approach. Instead of using slides, Prezi has one very large canvas that your presentation moves around on, zooming in and out to view various frames. tag_hash_111tag_hash_112tag_hash_113

This concept is much easier to describe with a visual aid, so we've embedded a sample prezi below. Simply select Start Prezi, then use the arrows at the bottom to navigate through the presentation.

You might be wondering what makes Prezi different from other presentation software, like PowerPoint or Keynote. For one thing, Prezi is completely free to use. There are upgrades you can pay for to unlock additional features, but everything you need to create and share a dynamic prezi is available free of cost.

Another great reason to use Prezi is that it is run entirely through your web browser, meaning there will be fewer compatibility issues than with other programs like PowerPoint. Your prezi will always look the same, no matter what computer you're viewing it on.

Because of its unique presentation style, Prezitag_hash_120 can use movement and metaphor to help communicate a point you're trying to make. If you want your audience to really feel a sense of space and distance between locations, you could use a map template, like in the prezi below.

Prezi is a web-based presentation and storytelling tool that uses a single canvas instead of traditional slides. While Harvard does not license this software, Prezi does offer free student and teacher accounts, which you can learn about on the Prezi website.

Prezi allows you to create a nonlinear presentation that allows a presenter or viewer to zoom in and out of a visual map. Academic Technology for FAS can help not only with the technical aspects of Prezi and preparing media content, but also with best practices and other alternatives.

In the last couple of years many people have been searching for innovative ways to create executive, unique, and memorable presentations. PowerPoint was exciting in the early days of its launch, but too many boring presentations led to the creation of new software like Prezi. Prezi helped to prevent us from falling asleep during presentations, but the zooming in and out effects of their software, and limited manipulation capabilities, called for more options and new players in the presentation market.

Of course, our very own Powtoon made the top of our Prezi presentation alternatives list! We love our suite of animated characters, library styles, backgrounds, awesome templates, and special effects. The best part about Powtoon is that the finished product will look professionally designed, and so creative, that your audience will think you hired a professional to create it.

Powtoon has taken design and slideshow presentation software to the next level with our new product, Powtoon Slideshow. We have created a product that will allow anyone to create a professionally designed presentation in mere minutes with only a few clicks of the mouse. To make your experience with Slideshow seamless we have limited customization options, but if you are a presentation superstar you can open your Slideshow presentations within our Powtoon studio for full customization abilities. Slideshow is the perfect blend of funky fun animations and stunning designs that will give you a presentation that will leave any audience in awe.

We included this great software in our top five Prezi presentation alternatives because it is very unique. VideoScribe software sketches the desired characters for the viewers, which makes any story come to life. This style of video hooks the audience and creates intrigue. This is not geared for live presentations but certainly works well for online video presentations.

Instead of moving slide to slide, like a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation, Prezi presentations capture content in a spatial context. Because of this, your audience may be more engaged with your presentation.

The illustrative style of the presentation puts the watcher in the learning seat which goes hand-in-hand with the educational nature of the presentation. Tying the design to the objective of the presentation helps make this Prezi successful.

I keep discovering new things about the presentation software Prezi. Asking around, it seems lots of other users didn't know about some or all of these either, so with that in mind I thought I'd draw your attention to 6 useful things. Got any more? Leave them in a comment...1. Upgrade to the educational licence for free if you are a student or work for a UniversityAll you need to do is go to Upgrade on the Prezi site, and stick in your university email address (.edu or .ac.uk etc). As a result of the upgrade you get more storage space (quite useful), the ability to substitute the Prezi logo for one of your own (could be useful for institutional branding of Prezis) and the ability to keep Prezis private (very useful, particularly from a teaching point of view - you don't want students to see the presentation until it's ready!). Well worth doing, I think. ff782bc1db
