@Someguyonline thanks for the help. Poweramp Unlocker uses code like this to hide icon on Androids 5-9. Unfortunately Google decided that non-system apps should always have launcher icon (in their "security tightening" crusade against developers), so you can just uninstall unlocker in 2 days after install. Thanks!

Well, I don't have unlocker installed at all. Uninstalled it as soon as I got the purchase verified and stored status. And I was thinking of other apps too, unfortunately Google is trying to ruin developers' life.

I have upgraded to a new device and have been able to transfer all of my apps except Poweramp unlocker. When visiting Play Store from my old device this is listed in the collection of my apps, using the new device it is not.

If your devices are rooted, you could use something like Titanium Backup to backup and restore apps & data from one device to the other. You should be able to install the unlocker on multiple devices (as long as the Google account and email remain the same). There is a limit (to reduce piracy) but it's quite big.

I repurchased the unlocker through the Poweramp website registering a yahoo account listed on the phone's account settings and Installed as per order instructions but Poweramp fails to unlock. I get a message saying it contacted Google and could not find a Google account. Been through multiple full reinstallations, in the correct order, but program continues to search for a Google account and not finding it stays locked.

I also got this problem. I used a hotmail account for purchase and the unlocker didn't do the good job just as you said. I sent the error report email to the Poweramp team but no one reply to me until now. It's really sad.

I used the Yahoo account in the box when I purchased the web unlocker and I entered it as an email on the phone, it's the only email account listed on the phone. The entry is accurate, no transpositions or errors. I have installed and reinstalled 8-10 times on two different examples of the same model phone that's running Gingerbread 2.3.5. I still receive an "unable to verify license" window and Poweramp locks. I should also say that these phones did unlock Poweramp using a Play Store purchase version before they were factory reset.

You probably use about old year unlocker. This, for example, is visible immediately if you use Get Support button and support team will response quickly. This is why forum is not the best place to resolve such issues VS Get Support.

Using same unlocker I received 2 weeks ago but tried your link all the same, never has worked. I've contacted support repeatedly over last couple weeks through device and your replies appeared to be automated in that they were identical and offered the same solution...reload from this link followed by locking. Then replies stopped. I'll try again through the phone but too much effort already invested. Finally opened forum thread to see if others were having success and how they did it. 500 views and no details yet.

Using the Poweramp build from my website purchase link (February '14 purchase) - v550 with a fresh unlocker install on factory reset phones and I've advised all this repeatedly in separate emails. I've been communicating with you from the start and your solution was always to reload from the link you provide in your reply, no help. Opened this thread to see how others were faring.

I've signed up especially because of this thread. Sorry to say I've had the same problem happening several times, always on a flight, with the phone in airplane mode, most recently twice in a week and a half, on the way out, and on the way back - very frustrating. Running Poweramp 2.0.10-build 588-play, with version 2-build-26 of the unlocker, on a Samsung S5 with Android 6.0.1.

The excuse that the "device is not saving the status correctly" is unacceptable, when so many people are experiencing the issue. This is the type of situation wherein programmers like us are expected to create workarounds. At least the unlocker purchase screen should have a disclaimer: "Depending on your device, this app may not function without a persistent internet connection."

I have this problem constantly. I have several devices that are properly licensed, I use it for months at a time, then not for a while. I have a couple of old Galaxy players that run android 2 versions. Right now I have two devices that won't play, even though I've used it for years, all of a sudden it trys to validate again? The unlocker is fully installed, what more does it need? My experience has been much the same as others, when flying, in the middle of a flight in airplane mode, boom, no more music. I have a Samsung galaxy player 5.0 that I have used all summer at least once a week, used as recently as yesterday, today will not validate no matter what. There is something amiss that is causing many people grief, and needs fixing pronto! None of my players will function now, just my phone, but it had limited memory. Not a happy customer!!

Report it as an issue with your phone/account via the Get Support facility in the app, or email poweramp.maxmpz@gmail.com. Make sure you state clearly that you have read the FAQ on the subject ( -is-internet-connection-required) and that you are sure none of those conditions apply to you.

The problem does seem to be related to specific devices or accounts, for some reason the licence validation does not 'stick' like it should. Please contact poweramp.maxmpz@gmail.com with your account details to discuss this. (I'm assuming you have already read -is-internet-connection-required )

@maxmp Quite a lot of users report that they see an issue of PA working normally for a long time but suddenly not working on flights/etc (a number in this thread even, for example -why-does-poweramp-need-to-verify-license-through-google-play-when-poweramp-unlocker-is-installed/?do=findComment&comment=47594 ).

Purchased unlocker (website version) through powerampapp.com 4 days ago, received version 1.0 build 19--was told I was going to receive activation instructions through email, but did not--,used that to unlock a trial version of the Play Store version that I already had installed on Android 6.0.1, Store version did change to 'Full version' for a while. Eventually, an error occured stating "Poweramp has detected that Poweramp Full Version Unlocker Installation is broken and requires reinstallation, this could happen due to the firmware OTA update. PRESS HERE TO REINSTALL UNLOCKER IN SEMI-AUTO MODE", so I "PRESS HERE" and then I am led to a page which is "Not Found". The page's original target was Unlocker 1.0 build 21.

Uninstalled both Poweramp (store version) and unlocker (Website version), downloaded Poweramp 2.0.10 build 588 from powerampp.com, installed Poweramp (website version), installed unlocker (website version)--identical error is replicated. I close and re-open Poweramp, and it appears that "License Check Pending", even though I see "(Full Version)" in the "About" section. Poweramp works fine.

Ideally, for the website unlocker you would be better using the website app download too. You should have received an email to the address you registered telling you how to proceed. See -Poweramp-unlocker for more details. (Licence validation can occur within 24-48 hours of installation, and it will show as pending until that has happened)

I need your recommendation as to which icon I should remove from my homescreen, and which app (if any) I should delete from my N7. Do I simply check the box "Hide unlocker icon from Launcher" and use the "trial" icon to start Poweramp

I already gave the app and its 'unlocker' a 1-star rating, but something tells me it won't change anything. I encourage everyone who finds this irritating to do the same, and mention this issue in the review, so new potential customers are aware of this flaw and think twice before the purchase.

I had this issue earlier.. I noticed Poweramp unlocker runs in background.. If I force stop it, this problem occurs in airplane mode.. then I whitelisted the unlocker and verified again using data.. this solved licence check problem.. Still now It never asked for licence in airplane mode..

If you've read the FAQ, and tried a full uninstall/reinstall of both the app and unlocker, then please email poweramp.maxmpz@gmail.com. It might be worth trying to Clear Data for the Google Play store app too, in case anything is messed up in there.

I've used vs 2 for two years with no problems. I decided to do a 'Wipe cache' on the phone. Poweramp must have been storing some license related data in there because the next time I started up Poweramp I started having this license verification problem. I reinstalled the app and unlocker. Having to wait hours or days for it to do what it needs to do is ludicrous. I can't upgrade to vs 3 because of an Android version that is too old. Besides, it is not an app issue; it is this unrealistic verification mechanism. All my other apps are working fine.

I'm a longtime Poweramp user on android and recently bought a Samsung Galaxy android tablet. Installed Poweramp and immediately tried to install the unlocker. Google Play says I already purchased it and presents an Install button, which fails because it says I need to purchase the app. So I'm in an endless-loop dead end. Any ideas? Any other ways of legally unlocking Poweramp on a new device? Can I "transfer" the unlocker on my phone to the tablet? More than happy to pay the $6 or whatever but I'm completely stuck at this point.

The Google Play unlocker should work fine on any device using the same Google account. The Unlocker should be available for you to install from your list of previously-installed apps. Launch the Google Play Store app, then tap menu > My Apps & Games > Library tab and find Poweramp Unlocker. ff782bc1db
