in order to save your collection you have to copy related auto generated backup files form ~/.config/Postman then delete ~/.config/ folder and extract postman form downloaded gz file and later use import backup to restore your collections.

Are there any other developers missing the scratchpad functionality that Postman removed from their application this includes the collections and environments? They replaced it with a API lightweight client version. Have you looked at Milkman and/or Insomnia API Client? We have a strict requirement for not to use cloud functions from a security perspective. I wanted to know what the community is moving towards.

The scratchpad is being removed on the 15th September 2023 and the cloud-based workspaces have not been signed off as acceptable at our company. I have used SOAP UI before and I could go back to that, but I was wondering, what are other good alternatives that testers regularly use instead?

So I need a software where I can send all the requests like GET,POST,PATCH etc as it is in Postman.

I need to save this requests in different folders and subfolders (like the scratch pad in Postman)

I'm having some trouble getting the REST API to work on a scratch org. When I call the login endpoint I get the error "invalid grant". (This happens when I try test.salesforce.com as well as login.salesforce.com.) My code works fine with logins for non-scratch orgs; it's only my scratch org that causes this error.

To create a custom connector, you must describe the API you want to connect to so that the connector understands the API's operations and data structures. In this topic, you create a custom connector from scratch, without using a Postman collection or an OpenAPI definition to describe the Azure Cognitive Services Text Analytics API sentiment operation (our example for this series). Instead, you describe the connector completely in the custom connector wizard.

Postman is my favorite tool for testing REST APIs. Workbench is great for ad-hoc testing but I like Postman better because I can create a suite of repeatable, scriptable tests. You can download and install Postman from getpostman.com. When you run it you should see the main screen.

In this post we will test the REST API we created in the last few posts. To follow along with this post you can clone the GitHub repo and push the code to a scratch org or start at the beginning of the series if you would like to follow along with building the API.

Postman has a rich set of features and we have just scratched the surface. For example, you can build more sophisticated test suites where the results of one test are used in subsequent tests. You can also use Newman, the Postman command line tool, to script the execution of test suites and make them part of your CI/CD process.

Click Tools | HTTP Client | Create Request in HTTP Client. If a request file is opened in the editor, this will add a request template to the opened file. Otherwise, this will create a new .http scratch file.

You can specify an absolute path or a path relative to the http-client.private.env.json file. If the environment file is stored in scratches, you can additionally specify a path relative to your project root. Start typing a path to get the code completion popup.

A couple of days back, I got a little nostalgic and spent five minutes writing a Twitter thread on my journey in building the Strategy and Operations team at Postman from scratch. After a number of messages from people asking for more specifics, I thought it deserved a longer post. So, here goes!

I had been following Postman closely since 2018 when I noticed my developer colleagues using the app in my previous role. In 2020, I observed through LinkedIn that the GTM team had grown from 3 to ~20 in the past year but there was no StratOps function. After a sales role at Freshworks and interesting Strategy and Operations projects as a management consultant at Deloitte, the challenge to build a function from scratch in a fast-growing rocketship seemed very interesting.

Create an OpenAPI definition from scratch

This option will mostly be useful if you do not have an API yet, in that case you may consider defining and designing your OpenAPI from scratch using tools like Postman (disclaimer: I work at Postman) or Stoplight.

Note: If you do not have any knowledge about OpenAPI you may need to do a bit of reading before getting started!

The traditional way-of-working is called "Scratch Pad" in the new world order. This scratchpad will contain any locally stored information such as collections of requests, URL endpoints, variables and secrets. Not sharing such delicate information with anybody is my preferred approach.

Postman - The Most popular APItool to build Automated API/WebServices Tests with very minimal code in quick and easy way.

This tool comes with Powerful JavaScript editor (Postman object) which helps us to perform various assertions inside the tool to validate your APITests.

This course starts from the scratch with Postman fundamentals and then gives you the deeper understanding on various ready made Postman features to build Framework like Variables,Environments, Workflows, Data driven components and Pm object which helps to quickly Setup Automation lab for Testing.

The flow of article and the way things are organized is amazing. I would be keeping this one as a reference, when I would writing one myself.

Adding pics of postman for each of the steps u described would have been icing on the cake.

For everybody who has a lot of collections in postman: If you export your collections in postman into the V2 format you can also import them in insomina. It needs a little bit of rework but this will save quite some time. Also environments can be imported. Some users claim that it does not work with V2.1 export versions but I haven't tested this. Your last chance to export your collections to your disk might be today.

I want to create basic HTTP client from scratch using Swift for learning purpose to unserstand how the sender and receiver of http over the internet works. Avalanche Ops is a suite of commands that enables you to launch and configure network infrastructure (virtual machines or cloud instances) and installs Avalanche nodes from scratch allowing for various configuration requirements. It provisions all resources required to run a node or network with recommended setups (configurable). This tool is intended for quickly creating, testing and iterating over various Avalanche network infrastructure configurations for testing and simulation purposes. Use this to play with various setups and reproduce potential problems and issues with possible configurations. 006ab0faaa
