The anime franchise consists of eight sequential series in Japan, each based on a main installment of the Pokmon video game series. In the international broadcasts, these series are split across 26 seasons. The show originally followed Ash Ketchum, a young trainer of fictional creatures called Pokmon. Joined by his partner Pokmon Pikachu and a rotating cast of human characters, Ash goes on a journey to become a "Pokmon Master", traveling through the various regions of the Pokmon world and competing in various Pokmon-battling tournaments known as the Pokmon League. However, by the 26th season, a new cast is featured, with new protagonists Liko and Roy.

In Japan, Pocket Monsters is currently broadcast as eight sequential series, each based on an installment of the main video game series. The anime is aired year-round continuously, with regular off-days for sporting events and television specials. In its international broadcast, Pokmon's episodes have currently been split up into 25 seasons, as of 2022, running a fixed number of episodes, using a specific opening sequence and sporting a different subtitle for each new season.

OLM, Inc. served as producer. Until episode 259 (episode 262 in Japan), during the fifth season, the series was animated using cel animation. Beginning with episode 260 (episode 263 in Japan), titled "Here's Lookin' at You Elekid!", all subsequent seasons are digitally animated.

Pokmon is currently available for streaming on Netflix in 216 regions and countries with different dubs and subtitles; all countries have at least English audio.[39] Pokmon was globally one of the most widely watched shows on Netflix, as of 2016.[5] It is also available on Hulu (in the United States and Japan), Amazon Prime Video (in the United States),[40] and JioCinema (in India).[41] From when the series made its home on Disney XD, as much as every in-circulation episode was available on Watch Disney XD and later DisneyNOW in the United States[42] until February 2022.[43] Netflix removed the Sun & Moon series, I Choose You!, and The Power of Us at the end of March 2022, leaving only the first season and the seasons and movies released exclusively to the platform.[44] Content is also available on the Pokmon TV app and website.[45][46]

On August 18, 2016, the XYZ episode Kalos League Victory! Satoshi's Greatest Decisive Battle (, Karosurgu ysh! Satoshi chj kessen) (Down to the Fiery Finish! in the English dub) faced criticism from fans when Ash lost the Kalos League against Alain. The fans specifically criticized the episode due to the misleading name and trailers that suggested that Ash would win the battle and because Ash had lost all of the Pokmon Leagues in past seasons.[56][57][58] Fans also disliked the outcome because they believed Ash's Greninja had many advantages over Alain's Charizard, including the fact that Water-type Pokmon resist Fire-type Pokmon attacks,[59] and that the rare Bond Phenomenon Ash's Greninja was subject to was said to be far more powerful than a conventional Mega Evolution. Several animators of the series also expressed disappointment that Ash had lost.[60] TV Tokyo's YouTube upload of the teaser of the next episode received an overwhelming number of dislikes as a result of the outcome.[59]

Seasons will not change in-game automatically; they will change only upon exiting a cave or building, or crossing between two outdoor maps at a transition that involves a loading zone (such as by moving between the various sections of Castelia City or Nimbasa City, or moving from Driftveil City to Driftveil Drawbridge). Unlike in the real world, where each season lasts for approximately three sequential months (in the astronomical model) or exactly three sequential months (in the meteorological model), the seasons in Unova will change each month, going through the full cycle of spring, summer, autumn, and winter three times per year.

Seasons were introduced as a mechanic to Pokmon GO on December 1, 2020 as part of the GO Beyond update.[1] Each season lasts for three months (starting and ending on the first day of a month), with the Northern and Southern Hemispheres experiencing opposite seasons, based on the real-world meteorological season for that hemisphere.

So I just finished season 2 and when I went to start season 3 I couldn't play any of the episodes. When I went to the "series" tab, most of the seasons weren't there. Am I looking in the wrong place or are the missing seasons on a different website?

Pokmon media is available in abundance. As we mentioned, there have been multiple films, a spin-off series, and multiple mini-series too. But in terms of the main series, there are twenty-six seasons of Pokmon, with the most recent series starting just a couple of months ago.

So are there even changing seasons? I never saw and notification that they change. But I did notice the Kalos seems to be divided by seasons. So I decided to see if the seasons were divided and non-changing. I caught a Sawsbuck that was in its Spring Form and battled a Pokmon on Route 17 (It's the route that you have to use a Mamoswine to cross). After the battle, the Sawsbuck did not change form.

I don't know if I missed anything about the changing of seasons or not...

Sawsbuck is only available in the friend safari, not in any season affected areas (like the snowy parts). For this reason, if you count out the friend safari as much as the dream world for gen V (or perhaps more accurately, compare them to each other), technically, Sawsbuck isn't really in X and Y, so there is no need for seasons. Therefore, there is no way on X and Y to get all four Sawsbuck/Deerling forms without poketransfer.

Hope this makes sense and helps out a little

Seasons were a new feature introduced in Pokemon Black and White. Like Days and Weeks, Seasons will use the clock in your DS to set a season. Unlikes Days and Weeks, an entire season will only last for one month. The four seasons and the months they land on are:

Certain Pokemon, certain Pokemon Forms, or certain events can only be found in specific seasons. You'll also notice a change in the world, some routes more than others. Trees changing color is a benign example, but sometimes the Weather will change with the seasons.

In either Pokemon White or Pokemon Black, the seasons switch regularly. The problem is, We're in Fall and it's saying that the season is Spring. Why is that, and how can I fix it?

A new trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has given fans a glimpse at Deerling's Autumn form, prompting discussion as to whether players will see seasons returning to the game. While the seasonal mechanic was introduced with the Pokemon Black and White games and hasn't been seen since other than in Pokemon GO, many nostalgic players have been eager to see the return of seasons for years and hope to see the feature come back in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

First introduced with Generation 5, seasons allowed players to enjoy some diversity in their Pokemon world all year round. Seasons in the game would coincide with the current season in real life, and would prompt effects such as days beginning and ending at different times, different weather in certain locations, different wild Pokemon encounters and much more. On top of this the Pokemon Deerling and its evolution, Sawsbuck, both change their forms according to the current season in the game.

A Reddit post from the user charliechan55555 shares the most recent trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with the post's title positing the idea of seasons returning in the new game due to a brief look at an Autumn-form Deerling. The latest trailer released just two days ago on the official Nintendo of Japan YouTube channel, which has not yet been released on any other Nintendo channel or in any other language. The keen-eyed fan caught a glimpse of the Deerling at about 10 seconds into the video, where the little critter can be spotted through the grass in the background.

While the appearance of this little Pokemon doesn't necessarily confirm that seasons will once again be a feature in the Paldea region, they would surely bring a lot more life and diversity to the Pokemon world. Aside for the simple change of scenery every so often, it would allow players to enjoy slight variations to content throughout the year, and could even provide a foundation for developers to build on in terms of introducing new features over time.

Fans are at odds on whether seasons really will return, though. Some players think it will be far more likely for Deerling to be encountered in its different forms by finding them in different areas, such as how the Pokemon Oricorio can be found in its four different forms in different locations around the Alola region in Pokemon Sun and Moon. After all, previous information for Scarlet and Violet has revealed that Paldea will be a large and diverse region in terms of Pokemon and environments. Whether or not seasons will return with the next installment is unclear, but what is known is that Pokemon fans have a lot to look forward to with the upcoming launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Around the world, the seasons change. As the seasons turn, different Pokmon will be appearing in the wild and hatching from Eggs, certain Berry effects will be boosted, Berry-themed Field Research and Timed Research will be available, and Deerling will make its Pokmon GO debut!
