Photo shoot is most commonly written as two words. However, photoshoot is slowly increasing in popularity. Speaking of spacing issues, is it nevermind or never mind? What about follow up or followup? Why not investigate these other space-or-no-space conundrums?

A photo shoot is the process taken by creatives and models that results in a visual objective being obtained. An example is a model posing for a photographer at a studio or an outdoor location.[1]

A photo shoot is a series of images that are taken, with the goal of obtaining images that can then be placed into post-production, or editing. These images are then used for print/digital advertising, business collateral, or just for personal use.

An amateur photo shoot is more likely to be under the arrangement of Trade-For-Portfolio (TFP), whereas a professional photo shoot for a brand or product is likely to be a paid arrangement. With TFP photo shoots, the agreement is often that everyone involved in the shoot will receive the high-resolution, edited images as a form of payment.[2]

With professional photo shoots, the contract is generally signed via a representative modelling agency and so payment is generally always monetary. Due to this, models may not be guaranteed to get the images returned to them as it is the property of the hiring firm/individual. Many photo shoots hire models from professional modelling agencies, and may also hire stylists, makeup and hair artists.[citation needed]

We all know that there is no promised tomorrow and my life work is making sure you & your family have these pieces of time preserved to treasure. The last time I ever saw my father alive was the night I introduced him to my husband Daniel. Before we left my dad insisted on a group photo to commemorate the occasion, on film no less, and I am eternally grateful to have those two precious frames to show my kids a photo of their grandpa and their parents together just that one time. I believe with every fiber of my being that "Take the damn photo" runs so much more deeper than anyone really embraces in the moment, and that we need to document our lives not just only for our kids but also for ourselves. The biggest reason I hear for not doing this is "We didn't have time", "I wish we could have afforded it" and "We just put it off too long". Life is so messy my friends, it's the most beautiful combination of joy and pain and yet perfection in the fleeting moments. Slow down for 5 minutes, come just as you are, and preserve a moment in time that says "We were here, we loved with fire, and we were happy."

The photos were taken as expected and emailed promptly! My only nitpick is that the colors were slightly oversaturated, perhaps due to the lighting on this particular set I chose, but it was a 2 second fix in a photo editor, so hardly an issue!

As an amateur/ hobbyist photographer ... I feel I should mention a couple view points. I'll start with cost ... there's always a risk of inconsiderate renters, and adjusting the price according to use does seem as above mentioned a little greedy. Second, property release forms for photography i'm learning only need to be done, if images are to be sold or used for advertising. Which means for example, if a person rents it for a boudoir shoot that will be private and never seen, likelihood of a release being needed is slim to none, as they aren't being commercially used images. Also, if they ARE being commercially used, the need for one can be "skirted" by the location/ area photographed, not being unique enough to be positively identified. (Likelihood doesn't count)

Long story short, there's a large difference between a photoshoot, and a film crew. Also, if they are contacting you and being direct about intentions, why charge extra for honesty? You set your nightly rate, at an amount that is satisfactory to you for its use. If no damage is done, why change that price? Why not instead use it as an opportunity to maybe get some high quality photos from the person renting?

I am a photographer who just thought about renting a room for a photoshoot. I think just like hotels, the the cost should be for the amount you would charge anyone for the entire night. The legalities of using your home for commercial purposes should probably, no it should require some type of lease contract for the space. That way you can stipulate what things are allowed to be done with the space. Also you could require a substantial security deposit. Mind you I am suggesting all of this prior to really looking into it fully. I shoot all types of photography but I am going to start shooting Boudoir and it would be cool to shoot in different locations.

There are standard rates for photo/filming, check what America charges. I looked it up when someone wanted to film an ad at my place (but I refused to cancel existing booking, so no deal) and it was rather a lot. Over a grand, from memory. Nowhere near standard rates, be careful! Porn is common, check the company.

Vizcaya staff reserve the right to determine when an individual/party meets the following requirements for purchasing a photography permit and may deny entry to the estate if a permit is not available or acquired.

Portrait and Special Occasion still photography is permitted outside only, in our gardens and grounds. A permit is necessary for those who wish to use Vizcaya Museum and Gardens as a backdrop for posed or directed still photography.

It is important that you review our Permit Rules and Regulations prior to your visit. While purchasing your reservation, you will be asked to acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Rules and Regulations and that you have forwarded it to your photographer.

Great! We would love for you to visit the Main House as well, however, the permit only covers entry to the gardens. Once you have put your props, equipment, and additional outfits back into your vehicle, you can purchase General Admission tickets at the Admission Booth for entry into the Main House. Just note that for the safety of the collection and the enjoyment of other guests, there is no posed photography allowed inside the Main House.

In 2019 Vizcaya changed the photo permit policy to include wagons available for loan by reservation. By limiting the amount and type of wagons, we have been able to reduce the amount of damage done to the property. Due to the current pandemic, it was decided to temporarily suspend wheeled carriers until we can develop sanitization methods to ensure the health and safety of the individuals using the wagons.

The Portrait Photography Permit covers up to 5 people (including your photographer, makeup artists, and any assistants). Any less than 5 people and the fee remains the same for the permit. Any more than 5 people and you will be asked to pay the General Admission rates for each additional person. Please note that we are currently unable to allow access to the property for groups of 10 or more.

For the first time photographers and their clients gain access to select areas of the Main House, which include the Main Stairs, Courtyard, Entrance Loggia, East Loggia, and Enclosed Loggia. The permit allows entry to the property at 8:00 a.m. and indoor photography from 8:30-9:30 a.m.

You will need to make a reservation online through our website. This is a $25 plus tax non-refundable, non-transferable deposit. The rest of the fees are paid on-site at Admissions on the day of your photo shoot. We do accept walk-ins, however, you will still be asked to purchase the initial payment online.
