A word of warning: These greetings will not do you any favors if you're in the midst of a job hunt or work in a conservative industry. Always remember your target personas. If there's a chance they won't appreciate your sense of humor, opt for a straightforward greeting instead.

Hi, my girlfriends mother's phone broke a few weeks ago and had to get a replacement phone. Just last night someone called her and she wasn't able to get to it to answer and was texted that her voice mail was not set up. For 12 years she had used her late husbands phone number to keep his voice mail greeting for her and her family to be able to still hear his voice. Before the replacement she asked if everything would transfer over (didn't specify the voice mail greeting unfortunately), but was told yes, but the voice mail greeting is no longer there. Is there any way the old voice mail greeting can be retrieved? She tried calling support and I think they tried a few things with no luck, but I was wondering if it was at all possible for her to get that old voice mail greeting back. Nothing worked for me except dialing my voicemail directly like everyone used to do back in the day. Then I deleted my greeting. It automatically goes back to default unless you record a new one. It takes a bit longer to do it this way, but it fixed it. Just push and hold the "1" key on the phone keypad and your voice mail should come up. You will need your password for your voicemail before you can make changes.

I have been trying for hours and gone through every single suggestion and still my phone will not change. It lets me record and play a custom greeting and even saves the one I created, but as soon as someone tries to call me it reverts to the greeting that I made some 8 years ago. I have obviously gotten a new phone since then, so maybe that is causing the issue. Does anyone have solutions for this situation?

Along with having my greeting screen frozen I was also not receiving any indication that a call was coming in...no ring, no vibrate, no visual indication on the phone at all. All calls were going directly to voicemail and the greeting was some funky message...maybe it was the default although custom was checkmarked. I also tried resetting, turning off WiFi, checking Do Not Disturb. 2351a5e196
