To keep your contacts backed up and synced to all your devices, you can automatically save device contacts as Google contacts. Google contacts are available across Google services and can be managed on any signed-in device. If the original device is lost or damaged, the contacts can automatically sync to a new device when you sign in.

When you sign out of a phone or tablet, all your Google contacts will be removed from that device to prevent other people who use that device from accessing them. Your Google contacts will remain in your Google Account and sync to a new device when you sign in.

Tip: To use device contacts across Google services without saving them as Google contacts, turn on Save contact info from your devices. That setting includes SIM contacts and contacts syncing with other cloud services, but you can only manage them on the original device. My work Google account is one of many synced to my phone. I'm a teacher so I have lot's of student emails as contacts on my work Google account. When I do a search for say "David" on my phone's contact list all my students I've ever had with the name David show up and it is very cluttered.

Is there a way to remove the contacts of my work Google account from my phone without deleting them from the associated Google account, and while still keeping access to emails from that account on my phone?

What I did was this:Turned Airplane mode on.Settings>Accounts-Google>[your account], and make sure Contacts sync is turned off. Make sure you turn off sync on all the Google accounts. Next, go to Settings>Apps, tap Menu>Show System, and select Contact Storage. Clear Cache/Data.

If Your Phone is Set to Display Contacts from Google Account, it will likely keep showing except if you deselect the linked google account from displaying its contacts. Else, you will need to delet the contact and syncronize it.

An easy way to export all contacts in outlook as vcf is to select them all and choose email as attachments. Once the draft emails opens up with attachments, select all attachments, right click and copy. Got to a folder, right click and paste.

Using either Firefox Beta or Google Chrome, I went to , logged into the GMail account I wanted use for my phone's contacts, in Firefox Beta I had to tell it to use the old version of Contacts I think (the new version didn't have an import feature), and then the page looked like the standard web GMail layout kind of. On the left side was a link that said "Import Contacts...", so I clicked that, and then it let me choose a file from my phone ("Documents"); note that this part did not work in Firefox Focus.

At the top right I selected "Show internal storage", and then at the top left I opened up File Manager, selected my CSV file, and imported it into GMail Contacts. Then, it immediately synced all of the contacts over to my Android phone.

MobiKin Assistant for Android can help you import or export contacts from android phone to excel format as CSV or XLS very easily. It is the popular tool of Android data backup and transfer. You can search "MobiKin Assistant for Android" by Google. Hope this helps!

If I allow the Revolut application to access the contacts after couples of hours the Contacts in default Phone applications appear duplicated. Most probably the Phone application scan contacts in existing accounts from time to time.

I have an Android One phone with a genuine Android OS and Phone application is also genuine link: Phone by Google LLC

This issue can be reproduced on Android emulator too, so it is not related with the phone device used only with the combination: Revolut + Google Phone application.

Still an issue. When I replace a handset (periodic update or to replace a damaged one) the same old issue of duplicated contacts reappears. It is so frustrating that this has still not been fixed. No other banking App that I have does this.

The multiple contacts replication is getting ridiculous I now have over 468k contacts in my address book . You MUST address this issue . You have been provided multiple examples and even how it is replicated Screenshot_20210118-175618_Contacts14403200 157 KB

I recently bought an iPhone and now struggling with a basic feature of sending contacts through SMS to Android phones. I am new to iOS environment so took me a while to settle down to iOS system. I have two major queries as follow:-

Hi Allen, thanks for your reply. Yes I agree that a contact card is a different format object. But there should be flexibility in the imessage app itself to allow contacts to be sent via contact card or as a simple text, a feature which almost all flagship phones in the world offer and which is a basic one. So with all due respect, I would beg to differ here that my expectations are wrong. Its just that I hope to see such a basic feature in such a high end phone.

iMessage can just add a feature which allows users to send contacts either via contact card or as a simple text. Not all the users in the world will use an iPhone. We need to have cross platform usage.

People who insist that whatever feature it is they want would be "easy" or "simple" to add have probably never done much high level programing. Pretty much every line of code you add or subtract to something as complex as iOS affects a number of other things. While I'm sure it's quite possible, it may not be nearly as simple as you think. So, submit feedback and get all your friends to do the same because it's unlikely that Apple will spend the development details on something that it doesn't feel necessary and that it hasn't gotten very many requests for. Apple has made changes because of concerted feedback campaigns in the past.

Hi, Idris as per your advice I have requested few of my friends who are iPhone users to submit a feedback. So lets see what happens. However as you have mentioned that Apple may have made such changes based on the feedback in the past, I am not hopeful for any immediate change. But being an Engineer myself and having being exposed to high level programming, I am pretty much aware of the difficulties a simple change can bring to the entire code. But, then there are experts sitting in Apple.inc for whom this may not be a big problem to solve. After all this company is making trillions by selling such over-priced phones.

Secondly, can you tell why there is no notification for WhatsApp call on Apple Watch (you can call me nitpicker but these are real time problems I am facing. With Internet being dirt-cheap in my country, almost 70-80% of calls I receive are on WhatsApp. If I do not my iPhone on me, then I miss those calls because Apple Watch does not tell me I am getting a WhatsApp call).

Hi Allen, as a genuine user I can only give a genuine feedback. Now, how simple or difficult it may be, is for the experts in the company to decide for. But one thing is certain that if these kind of basic features can be provided by other flagship phones then I see no reason in this world, Apple (with such high quality of workforce) not being able to implement them. I cannot just fathom the reason why it is not there. I am an Electrical Engg myself and deal with users feedback on daily routine. Some are tough to implement, but yes if they are genuine then we surely go for it.

I am sure this also may have been very difficult for Apple people to implement.

I have read the already posted solutions, but they dont tell how do I use system's contact details screen to select any ONE number to use?I am developing an sms sending android app which offers to choose contacts of the phone and the number a user wants to use to send to....

in the application i'm currently developing the user may enter a phone number into an EditText or click on a button and select a person from the phones address book. if the person has more than one phone number, there's a drop down list where he can select exactly one of them.

note: after the user selects the contact, he gets a spinner of numbers with no indication of the numbers type. that's not really user friendly: if a contact has 5 assigned numbers ... uh, which one of these is the fax number again?

I've got few codes about this on SO, but in the end I implement code from android guide website -common#PickContactDat . I tried the code and I dont need implement any runtime permission request like READ_CONTACTS.

Receiving spam calls or persistent unwanted contacts can be bothersome. Fortunately, if you're using a Galaxy phone with Android 9.0 (Pie) or later, there are several methods to block these numbers, ensuring their calls and text messages won't disturb you. This guide covers blocking contacts directly from your phone, using the Smart Call feature for spam calls, and even preventing callers from leaving voicemails. Note that the availability of these features may vary based on your wireless service provider, software version, and phone model. 152ee80cbc
