Sound Notifications help you know what happens in your home. When Sound Notifications are on, your phone will always check for sounds you want notifications about, like when a smoke alarm beeps or a doorbell rings.

Anyway I had to get a new phone so since I had a Motorola Android I went ahead and got the Moto Z4 running Android version 10. Everything seemed fine as I was able to piece together much of what I had on my previous phone via my external hard drive and copying the apps from my Google account.

Download Phone Alert Tones

Well that was until I loaded the Ring App and started fine tuning all of the settings for each of my individual devices. And I only even started fooling around with the settings in the Ring App because I kept hearing the standard Ring doorbell and motion alert wind chimes about 60+ times a day for a couple of days which seemed a little odd.

I immediately uninstalled the Ring App and reinstalled. I checked permissions. I checked all of the files on the phone hoping the sound files just got misfiled. I searched the community, online, everywhere I could think of. I was for sure Ring would have the sound files online. I could not find anything. Given the number of Ring devices I have the spoken alerts have become indispensable to me and my family.

Is there somewhere to download the Ring App Alert Tone sound files including spoken alerts that I lost? If not is there anyone who has a copy of the Ring App Alert Tone sound files including spoken alerts that would be willing to send them to me?

I am having the exact same problem and I also have a moto phone. My old phone was a moto G and the new one is a moto Stylus. I called ring and went threw all the lame attempts with Ring India Customer no service. They couldnt resolve. I will try posting on thier user site on Facebook. Only other thing I can think of is un installing each camera then re-installing them and see if those verbal sounds come back. That should take up a good portion of my day since I have a few cameras! Ring- Never again!!!

I finally resolved issue regarding alert ringtones. My alert tones were on phone. Just unable to get them on Ring app. 1) Internal storage . 2)Ringtones 3)Ring 4) audio. Copie any or all of the ring tones. Then move them to notifications folder back from the internal storage you started from. Than check your ring app. They should appear there. If not reinstall Ring app. Good luck folks. This drive me crazy that Amazon Ring nor Samsung could help. Happy new year all.

I have the Xs phone - turned down the volume to the ringer using the button on the left. It wasn't muted but I guess on "level one" - however, when I got a text, the sound came through loud. Is this normal or how can I adjust this? Was I wrong in assuming the ringer volume affects the alert tone volume too? Thanks.

This is correct because those volumes are different and adjusting one has no effect on the other. The volume of notifications will follow your system volume, whereas phone calls have their own volume, which can only be adjusted while on an active phone call. So if you just need to adjust it, dial your own phone number as if you're attempting to check your voicemail, then use the volume button to raise the volume. When it's raised to your liking, you can end the call and the volume for calls should stay at this level until you adjust it again.

It sounds like the volume for you iPhone ringer volume is different from the text notifications. This sounds like a setting difference between the phone ringer and text notifications. You can take a look at the following support articles to set the volumes of the different notifications.

Hi @Penster2017. What is the iOS version you have installed on your iPhone and what version of the Ring app is installed? If you are not on the latest version, this could be the cause for you issue. Have you tried this on another phone?

Hi @rwlade. You can choose the alert tone for motion alerts and rings within the Ring app. Navigate to Devices > your Doorbell > Device Settings > Notification Settings > App Alert Tones. You can choose a different alert tone for when someone rings your Doorbell and for when motion is detected.

I'm looking for a decent text/notification tone. I still have yet to find one that really grabs my attention. Feel free to mention some of your favorites and if you're up to it maybe attach a link for them. They can be stock tones or homemade ones!

The issue sfor those who dont know is by design, when using an iPhone and its locked it will route all text messages notifaction alerts to the iWatch. If the phone is unlocked it will not. Therefore a locked iphine will not notify you of a message with the text tone instead it comes out to the watch. If the watch is on silent (which is can be if the phone has been switched to silent duering the day, the watch stay on silent) you don't get anything.

Not sure who thought through this use case scenario but its doesn't work at all. I have a watch and a phone and I need both to notify me of a message. If i don't want to hear either I have a silent button on both

On your phone, go to the Watch app. Go to General>Do Not Disturb>Mirror iPhone and turn it off. That way, your watch will not get switched to silent when your phone is. Also, go to Sounds & Haptics. Mke sure that Haptic Alerts are enabled and that you have ticked "Prominent'.

To do this, you will remove the Ring app from your phone, reboot your phone (turn it off/on) and then reinstall the app. Once you reinstall the app, make sure you have all sounds turned up, log into the app, allow notifications, and then test to see if the sound comes up. Hope this helps!

Hi @Knoenhim! If motion is detected but you are not alerted, this is either due to notification permissions on your mobile devices or alert settings in your Ring app. The best first step here is to remove the Ring app from your mobile device, and reinstall it. Once done, please log in to the Ring app, ensure your mobile device is not on silent mode, and test a motion event.

The next best step is to check your motion alert settings. From the dashboard of your Ring app, open the Menu, select Devices, then select the Ring device in question. You will now be on the device page and presented with options specific to it. Please check your Motion Snooze, Motion Settings, and Smart Alerts tiles. This will allow you to confirm these motion alert based options are set to how you desire. I hope this helps!

When I first got my S10, I was able to set individual alert messages per contact. The process was simple; Find the text thread, tap the three dots, go to notifications, scroll down to 'Custom'.

The custom option is just gone. I have all the phone's default notification sounds, and that's it. There's no option to set a custom text tone for any of my contacts. I've tried editing their contact information, I've looked through my phone's options with every combination of search terms and menus I can think of, nothing.

Does anyone know how to fix this? It's incredibly frustrating.

One final wrinkle - the Alert Info handling in FreePBX/Asterisk was changed rather significantly about 18 months ago, which screwed up a s-ton of working phone systems. If the articles you are using for information are older than that, this could be biting you as well.

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the extra details to make sure my head is around the way FreePBX handles the calls. I think I understand it the proper way, but I am still learning the system.

To clarify, I am simply trying to get the alerts on the handsets to sound like an incoming call alerts the recipient at their desk with a sound one would expect. Currently, the incoming alert sounds like the handset suddenly has the speakerphone activated and is now making an outgoing call.

I think I have adjusted all the alert settings that I can find, but I will dig back through just to make sure.

Thanks also for the note about the major changes over the past 18 months. This will help me eliminate false leads as I work through it again.

I have the same issue with notification sounds not working unless the phone is unlocked. However, the notification still sounds on my watch. When I turn off Bluetooth, the notification sound works just fine.

The Emergency Alert System (EAS) is a national warning system in the United States designed to allow authorized officials to broadcast emergency alerts and warning messages to the public via cable, satellite, or broadcast television, and both AM/FM and satellite radio. Informally, Emergency Alert System is sometimes conflated with its mobile phone counterpart Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA), a different but related system. However, both the EAS and WEA, among other systems, are coordinated under the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). The EAS, and more broadly IPAWS, allows federal, state, and local authorities to efficiently broadcast emergency alert and warning messages across multiple channels.[1] The EAS became operational on January 1, 1997, after being approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in November 1994,[2] replacing the Emergency Broadcast System (EBS), and largely the Emergency Override System, though the EOS is still used from time to time. Its main improvement over the EBS, and perhaps its most distinctive feature, is its application of a digitally encoded audio signal known as Specific Area Message Encoding (SAME), which is responsible for the characteristic "screeching" or "chirping" sounds at the start and end of each message. The first signal is the "header" which encodes, among other information, the alert type and locations, or the specific area that should receive the message. The last short burst marks the end-of-message. These signals are read by specialized encoder-decoder equipment. This design allows for automated station-to-station relay of alerts to only the area the alert was intended for.

The National Public Warning System, also known as the Primary Entry Point (PEP) stations, is a network of 77 radio stations that are, in coordination with FEMA, used to originate emergency alert and warning information to the public before, during, and after incidents and disasters. PEP stations are equipped with additional and backup communications equipment and power generators designed to enable them to continue broadcasting information to the public during and after an event.[53][54][55] 17dc91bb1f
