Lauren Piester of The Wrap says Perfect Match "might actually be perfect." Piester states "It's endlessly watchable. It's funny. It's sexy, it's stupid, and it knows that it's all these things...I've never loved a dating show as much as I love this one."[13]

Perfect Match season 1 featured 22 singles from shows including Too Hot To Handle, The Circle, Love Is Blind, The Mole, and more. The cast members were challenged to couple up and compete to find compatible pairs, who are given the privilege of bringing two newcomers into the house and disrupting previously formed duos. Singles who fail to match are eliminated periodically over the four-week stay. Many cast members try hard to avoid leaving the house given its gorgeous location, leaving cast members frolicking in the sun all day and enjoying leisure swims or dates by the beach.

Overall, Perfect Match appears to be another hit for Netflix, as gorgeous singles and loathed reality TV villains alike meet, mingle, and match in Panama. While Perfect Match has yet to be confirmed for a second season, it is very likely that it will be back given its popularity. Many fan-favorite Netflix stars can be expected to join the cast for a second season, and Perfect Match season 1 singles may also return. Meanwhile, several cast members have since confirmed their relationship status a year after enjoying their Panama getaway on Perfect Match.

PERFECT MATCH features former participants of Netflix reality competition TV shows vying for love. Hosted by Nick Lachey, it begins with 10 single cast members from Too Hot to Handle, Sexy Beasts, The Ultimatum, Selling Tampa, Love Is Blind, The Mole, Twentysomethings: Austin, and The Circle franchise trying to pair up in a luxurious Panamanian villa. The coupled housemates then get to compete for a luxury date and access to "the boardroom," where, with the use of a giant touchscreen, they have the power to break other couples up and reshuffle them. They also have the chance to invite additional single reality cast members to join the group and date a housemate. Meanwhile, the cast spends its evenings deciding whether they want to stick it out with their current matches, or if they want to try someone else. At the end of each night, the person who doesn't have a match is sent home. The two people who are paired and want to remain a together at the end of the experience are considered the perfect match and win a mystery prize.

The over-the-top series features people who barely know each other coupling up while trying to keep the other contestants from making a true love match. Starting from their first meeting, Perfect Match contestants flirt, kiss multiple people, have lovers quarrels, and try to make each other jealous, despite the fact that they don't really know each other or have any real commitment between them. Meanwhile, those who make it into "the boardroom" use it to create drama for the couples who seem to really hit it off. The matchmaking process is the show's main source of entertainment, given that the couplings are superficial and short lived, and most of the show consists of the contestants' endless banter about themselves and what they are looking for in a partner. It's a ridiculous premise, a fact that's underscored by the contestants, who insist that they are using the opportunity to find real love. Overall, Perfect Match is less an indulgent guilty pleasure than a silly, hedonistic project meant to promote Netflix reality shows and the people who appear on them.

The Perfect Match is, in a nutshell, The Hunger Games of reality television. Released today on Netflix (perfect for a V-Day binge watch), the new show puts a tactical twist on the usual romantic reality show format.

The big hook? The contestants on this new show are none other than familiar faces you might recognise from other reality romps, such as Love Is Blind, Too Hot to Handle, and The Ultimatum. The new series mixes these folks together under one roof like a pack of TV-star Top Trumps cards to see who can pair up to become, you guessed it, the perfect match!

This is where things get really chaotic. The couple who are dubbed the 'most compatible' will not only win a luxury date for themselves, but they will also get the chance to bring in a new person for the contestants that they believe to be struggling with finding love. (From here on in, they are considered the 'matchmakers'.) So, like Love Island, a new 'bombshell' arrives, but unlike Love Island, the winning couple get to choose the new contestant.

"The producers aren't steering the ship," said the series creator Chris Coelen. "If the participants choose to bring these people in or match 'em up with whoever, it's totally up to them. That's much more real, and it's much more fun for them."

Basically, the existing couples and matchmakers can utilise the format to help others find their dream match, or give into their darkest temptations and stir drama, creating a more exciting game for themselves.

Overall, there will be 23 reality show stars who can enter the Perfect Match villa, with their entries spread out as they are brought in by the matchmakers. Any contestant that is left without a match at the end of each night will be eliminated from the show. Ouch.

The former NBA dancer appeared on the first season of the show and was originally matched up with Carlton Morton. However, they got into a messy dramatic fight because Carlton failed to reveal that he was bisexual before their engagement. After Diamond found out, she was hurt that she was not told sooner.

I don't consider [the reason] someone matches with me is because they expect some sexual interaction or something like this. That takes time. I know my worth. You are not matching with me just because I have a body and a pair of boobies. I like to think that you're matching with me because of the whole package.

At the end of the season, all the couples will vote on which pairing should win the show, with Nick Lachey telling the contestants in episode 1: "When it's all over, you all will decide which one couple is the perfect match."

From there, the compatible couples get to become matchmakers, as they are tasked with deciding which contestants they want to be pair up. However, these matchmakers also get to choose which couples they want to break up.

Let me clarify: My book choice wasn't terrible. In fact, this award winner was culled from a friend-sourced list of suggestions, and I had been looking forward to it.
