I have the exact same problem. I've been using Whatsapp on mac for the past 3 years, everything worked fine but after the update whatsapp notifications seemed to have disappear from system preferences.

Me too! I un-install and re-install back the Whatsapp app and I still don't receive any pop up notification message. But only when Whatsapp calls it does give pop up notification! I think it's a bug. My system preferences under notifications, Whatsapp app is not appearing there too!
If you are getting notification on your Mac from all other sources, except Whatsapp, it's not an Apple issue. It is a Whatsapp issue. Apple doesn't own Whatsapp. Meta (Facebook) owns Whatsapp and they need to fix whatever their issue is.
Hey Guys I found a simple solution to this issue, go to your user directory and toggle all hidden files using the command ( CMD + shift + . ) and automatically Whatsapp notification will start working back on.
As per my understanding, this has started since the new MacOS update. Now its either that the app is not able to get the access to the notification panel or there is some bug in the new OS update. I hope they fix it soon tho. hampering the workflow a lot.
Wow, that's BS on WhatsApp's part. Like others here, I have the same issue -- both on my Intel-based iMac and my M1 MacBook Air. WhatsApp notification was working fine before this latest version. This is totally a bug on WhatsApp.
I also used to get banner notifications, but rcently was not getting the same, I thought to reinstall it....deleted the previous app and same thing happened, it got deleted from system preferences also...
I have same issue here. After last update I've lost all kind of WhatsApp notifications in my MacBook. After reading some reply's I believe we must wait for a new release but meantime, we can all go back to WhatsApp web (which is not useful if you need to make any call, but we'll still get the notifications back)
I suddenly stopped getting notifications on my iPhone 14 Pro. It however does show a red icon that there is a new message or more ... but when I swipe down Whatsapp doesn't appear in the Notification Centre. I did a hard reset and also reset Location & Privacy. All the correct settings are in place ... but still nothing works. The very same thing happened on my previous iPhone 13 Pro. Anybody else experiencing the same issue? All my other apps seem to be working just fine.

Had problem with no notifications coming through on WhatsApp for iPhone 15, found out wife had archived all messages, this stopped the notifications. Had to clear message and unarchive the sender. App notifications now come through. Hope this helps someone.
Yes exact the same with me and I have raised many time with Apple customer care , they either hung up the phone or they dont have any solution and repeat the same answer "reset your phone" ..or speak with whatApp. can someone raise this to Apple head office .. You may have muted notifications for this contact. Press the menu button on your device (or touch the menu button in the top bar (action bar) if your phone has no menu button) And go down to "MUTE" then from there you should see an option to hide notifications. All you have to do is turn that off, and that contact's/group's notifications should start appearing again.
I had the same issue. Apparently I had a custom notification for a specific contact and then at some point I deleted or moved the mp3 file for that sound, so whatsapp couldn't find it to reproduce the sound. Going into Whatsapps' custom notifications for that contact and changing it did the trick.

If so, since you're setting up WhatsApp notification, you'll need to receive a message from the app desired in order for your app to show it as option in your Fitbit notification's section. Off late, for the last few days I have been having a very annoying issue with Whatsapp (which is a very important app that I use on my phone). Regardless of the notification tone that I set for Whatsapp, I keep hearing 'New Whatsapp notification received' every time a new message is received on Whatsapp. It doesn't stop even if I put my phone on vibrate or silent mode. Apparently, the sound is coming from the top speaker of the phone (one that is used for calls). If I have my buds with music playing on while a notification comes, the music playback stops for around 10-15 seconds, the announcement is made and then it goes blank for few seconds.
Finally, managed to solve the issue. It was happening due to me giving notification access to an application 'TVS connect' (TVS is a 2-wheeler brand in India and the app is a part of connected features of the bike). I removed the notification access and since then not having any issues!
Right now, I have turned off all notifications for Whatsapp and this has enabled me to stop the announcement as well. I have played around with all the categories of notifications and have not been able to stop it. Obviously, this has completely turned off Whatsapp notifications for me, including all important notifications.
