Maybe time to contact Norton Support and see if they can figure out what is going on. www.norton.com/contactcs If using the chat function, as soon as you can enter any information, enter "agent please". That will get you out of the chat bot and connected to a human.

Thank you for all your help. I did call back and got a different person. After a lot of work, including let her access my phone remotely, she told me that App Lock cannot block access to my phone's settings page. That is weird because it did just that on my prior Android phone. I am now thing of giving up and switching to, e.g. AppLock by Ivy Mobile.

This above topic was posted on 30 October 2022 by rogonca titled "Norton App Lock can be bypassed with Google Wallet. Serious issue". There were a series of replies by peterweb who by stated he would refer to the matter to his contact who would pass it on to developers. The thread was subsequently closed with no resolution or fix by Norton as the problem is still persisting. The app lock on Wallet can be easily bypassed by hitting the back button on my Galaxy S23 Ultra. It is frankly a VERY SERIOUS MATTER and it appears Norton has done nothing to resolve the issue. No point having a digital wallet that can be easily accessed by someone who steals the phone. Like rogonca has previously stated: (1) The app stays unlocked continuously once you open it. (2) Closing the app and reopening doesn't work either. The app still stays unlocked. (3) Also doesn't lock is if the phone is shut down or restarted after using the app. And yes I have ticked the "keep app locked in session as well" option. If Norton does not respond in this matter, I will be using another service for all my mobile security requirements. I can't have a phone that I pay with that does haven't an effective app lock. Very bad form by Norton by not addressing a serious product defect.

Hello EC123. Once again, I have passed this on to the top level Admins as a "reputational / security" issue that needs to be corrected after being presented twice now. Although myself and peterweb do not work for Norton, it is beyond our control, whether Norton takes action or doesn't. We can only continue following up in the hope that someone Norton does follow up. Lets all continue to repost here and not allow the 30 days scenario without a post to pass and the thread become automatically locked. Thanks for reposting.

Understood. I wasn't implying peterweb is in any way not following up. Rather that we Guru's have contacts and cannot determine when or if they follow up. And that the forums threads will automatically lock after no activity for 30 days or more. Hoping Norton takes action ASAP though.

Thanks for your response. I use a phone lock as a primary line of defence. I have a 2023 Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and I am using version 13.Frankly force closing a thread with no response from the company is appalling customer service. It simply sweeps unresolved matters under the carpet.

Following reading some reviews on the Google Play store, someone also pointed out the lock app on the Settings function doesn't work on their phone. I just tried that and that is correct as well. When the locked screen comes up, you can dismiss it by hitting the back button on the phone. I also tested the lock on other sensitive apps like my banking and chat apps and it was ok.

Norton App Lock does launch as expected whenever I open an app. However, it can now be bypassed simply by pushing up the bottom bar (once Norton App Lock PIN screen opens) to view all recent apps and then clicking on the app that I tried to open again. This will then unlock any app each and every time without fail.

On my Android 9 tablet, when I try to open a locked app I get the App Lock prompt. If I tap on recents, I see the app and tap on it. It tries to come up but is replaced again with the App Lock prompt.

12 Identity Lock cannot prevent all account takeovers or all unauthorized account openings. Locking or Unlocking your credit file does not affect your credit score and does not stop all companies and agencies from pulling your credit file.

In the case of children, Norton App Lock helps you protect your children from those "bad apps" by locking them up tight. The problem with apps these days is that although there are age restrictions suggested by the developer, there is no actual way to enforce that children are entering in the correct information when setting up the app. There are a plethora of dangerous apps out there for minors; especially ones that allow users to communicate anonymously with each other. With these apps, it is virtually impossible to know who your child is talking to, therefore the best solution is add security to these apps until they are old enough to understand the dangers that come along with these types of apps. The greatest mobile security benefit of Norton App Lock is that you can pre-install the apps you do not want your child to have access to then choose a passcode or swipe pattern to protect the app from prying eyes.

In addition to keeping kids safe, it also adds an extra layer of security to protect your information. Children love playing with smartphones, but can sometimes cause accidents, such as deleting the content on your phone. By locking down the apps that matter to you, you can prevent those unintentional mishaps.

Kings Norton Stop Lock (grid reference SP055794) is a Grade II* listed building at Kings Norton Junction on the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal near its junction with the Worcester and Birmingham Canal. It is the only guillotine-gated stop-lock on a canal.[1]

This stop lock was built to prevent water flowing from one canal to another, regardless of which side was higher, but normally the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal was six inches higher. Canal companies were always concerned with the conservation of their own water supplies.[2] There was also a toll house adjacent to the lock.[3]

The wooden guillotine style gates are suspended in a slightly raked cast iron girder frame by a chain which passes through a small block on the gate. One end of the chain passes over two large wheels to a winch mechanism. The other end passes over two more large wheels to a hidden counterweight built into the side wall of the lock.[4] There was no need for paddle gear to fill or empty the lock. With such a small difference in water level a guillotine gate could easily be lifted to let water flow in and out.

Set up a passcode via a pattern or fingerprint, and then you should be good to go. Your Gmail will be used as a backup in case you ever get locked out, so make sure you keep that Google password safe.

Norton App Lock is an app developed by the well-known digital security company Norton, that makes it possible to add another level of protection to your apps. Basically, the app creates a virtual padlock to keep anyone else from opening your sensitive or personal apps.

Using Norton App Lock is as easy as setting a lock pattern or passcode -which can be anything you want- and choosing which apps to protect. From that moment on, anyone who tries to open a protected app will have to enter the lock pattern or passcode.

Not only that, but anyone who tried to remove the lock will also need to enter the lock pattern or passcode. This extra level of security ensures that sensitive apps, such as image galleries or messaging apps, will be totally safe.

Hi - this is held in with a spring steel pin, in a blind hole. Drilling out has been recommended on the forum but this is very difficult as the pin is close to the yoke and it is difficult to drill straight into the pin. Has anyone tried punching the lock out or any other method? ff782bc1db
