Emporium Arcade Bar

Revolution Brewing and Reckless Records collaborated on a new beer, Hand Over Fist, which will make its debut at this Record Store Day showcase at Emporium in Wicker Park. Come in to try the brew and catch sets from Ribbonhead, Roach Beach and Meat Wave. Anyone with a Reckless Records receipt of at least $50 will get free tokens and a free beer, while those with a $20-plus receipt from any Chicago record store can score some free tokens. Logan Hardware

You won't find any Lego Movie soundtrack picture discs or Metallica cassettes at Logan Hardware on Record Store Day this year. The shop is eschewing official RSD releases and is teasing the rollout of more than 60 boxes of LPs priced to move. Happy digging. Open at noon.

Students from the forestry and landscape architecture clubs will plant several uncommon species of evergreen and deciduous trees April 28 (noon, southeast corner of University Boulevard and Haber Road) in obervance of Arbor Day (April 29). Joining them will be Joe Colletti, senior associate dean in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences; Steven Jungst, interim chair of the entomology and natural resource ecology and management (NREM) departments; and Dave Miller, associate vice president for facilities planning and management. NREM purchased the trees as part of a project to increase the diversity in ISU's tree inventory, particularly for teaching purposes. FPM will maintain the trees. All are welcome to the planting.

Most items (such as batteries, copiers, DVD players, fax machines, handheld electronics, laptops, printers and video games) can be recycled free. Recycling fees will be charged for monitors and TVs. The recycling event is provided by the DOT Green Team and Department of Natural Resources Iowa Waste Exchange Program.
