but there seems no way to change the taskbars/panel over a xfce theme , although there are always nice pictures

I've had this setup on windows 10 using 7+ Taskbar Tweaker but it doesn't support windows 11.

on windows 11 I had this setup using Windhawk with the "Disable grouping on the taskbar" mod but that seems to no longer be compatible with Start All back, used to work, but broke after some update.

It still works on the default windows 11 taskbar but that is s*** for other reasons.

This clearly seems to be picking a single image from the icon, thensetting it as the icon. That defeats the whole idea of a multi-imageicon. No wonder Windows seems to be scaling a large image for the taskbar.The .ico bitmap loader probably just picks the highest quality image it finds.

It would be nice to have a dev icon but you can do this manually by creating a shortcut to the program, then editing the shortcut (Right Click > Properties > Shortcut > Change Icon), then pinning the edit.

This inspired me to make a free/open-source desktop taskbar app that would replicate the functionality of the website, since I was visiting it quite often at that time. I thought it would also be cool if the app could notify me when a new earthquake past a certain magnitude threshold happened.

Note, also, that I've only tested it on Mac. It's very possible that it may not work as nicely on Windows or Linux. Unfortunately I don't have machines for those platforms to test it on (particularly the taskbar integration and desktop notifications).

Pretty happy with the result! Open windows show with their window title on the taskbar on the corresponding screen. Upside, much easier to track down that open document. Downside, taskbar looks a bit more cluttered when many windows are open (duh). Worth it!

I also purchased AllStartBack. Start11 is an intensive rewriting of the taskbar, but as a result is still limited by the Windows 11 taskbar. AllStartBack is mostly just enabling the hidden Windows 10 taskbar, so does have some things like vertical taskbars.

As most WIndows fans know, you can pin frequently used files to programs that are pinned to the tashbar, so that you can open them quickly with the program. It would be so nice if you could pin notes in Evernote to the Evernote icon when it's pinned to the taskbar.

I've been using Start11 for about a year now and it is very nice, except for this one very minor annoyance : the little 1px grey line that shows when setting the taskbar to fully transparent. This is mostly apparent when using a white background, but I would love if it was possible to make it disappear. Any suggestion or help on the matter ?

Run Windows Media Player and minimize it. Right click on an empty spot in the taskbar and select Toolbars > Windows Media Player. Ignore the warning and you should get the Windows Media Player taskbar toolbar.

A nice and Vibrant theme, that works well with just about any wallpaper and application. It has good support for Windows Aero and overall a nice theme.
