Since roughly one month when doing point extraction missions with my buddy on haz 3 the waves of bugs don't seem to end. Any other mission type doesn't seem to be affected.

Doesn't matter how many of them we kill/freeze/blow up there never is the announcement that "the wave is thinning out" or anything comparable so we just get completely drowned in bugs over tens of minutes. New ones are CONSTANTLY spawning.

It has been said in various other threads that with the latest z-wave firmware on the C7 hub, it is not necessary to do a full zwave repair. If you have an issue with a device, just do a repair on that device.

When working with voice overs I always request wave (at least 16bit 44.1kHz) but quite often get a file that started life as an mp3. This is because some voice overs record in mp3 format and then convert into wave.

When I say this to voice overs they are shocked that I can tell but when I ask can you send the original wav, I have been informed (on several occasions, this is not an isolated incident) that said voice over(s) always record as mp3. What!

If you are producing any kind of audio it is never good practice to record and produce as an mp3. This format is very lossy meaning that its size is compressed making it smaller by stripping out up to 90% of the audio data.

Firstly, here is a screenshot of a wave that a voice over recorded as 16bit 44.1kHz wave. You will see that the audio data is present all the way from the lowest sound to the highest sound. The scale on the right shows frequencies all the way up to 20kHz. This is how a voice recording should look.

I look at it this way, the mp3 converted to wav has been stripped of most of its audio data, so for example, when working on a voice over recording I will carry out several digital processes to polish the sound and may incorporate sound effects or music too. Now, if I denoise the voice, declick it and remove any popping this is all happening in the digital realm and I am missing most of the audio data that should have been recorded. As such, my sound is going to be thinner and the result I can achieve with good production and processing is going to be seriously affected.

Converting your studio wave into mp3 for your client, if that is what they want, is perfectly acceptable but always have lossless masters. Your mp3 version should be your inferior copy, not your only copy.

The ocean is never still. Whether observing from the beach or a boat, we expect to see waves on the horizon. Waves are created by energy passing through water, causing it to move in a circular motion. However, water does not actually travel in waves. Waves transmit energy, not water, across the ocean and if not obstructed by anything, they have the potential to travel across an entire ocean basin.

Waves are most commonly caused by wind. Wind-driven waves, or surface waves, are created by the friction between wind and surface water. As wind blows across the surface of the ocean or a lake, the continual disturbance creates a wave crest. These types of waves are found globally across the open ocean and along the coast.

More potentially hazardous waves can be caused by severe weather, like a hurricane. The strong winds and pressure from this type of severe storm causes storm surge, a series of long waves that are created far from shore in deeper water and intensify as they move closer to land. Other hazardous waves can be caused by underwater disturbances that displace large amounts of water quickly such as earthquakes, landslides, or volcanic eruptions. These very long waves are called tsunamis. Storm surge and tsunamis are not the types of waves you imagine crashing down on the shore. These waves roll upon the shore like a massive sea level rise and can reach far distances inland.

The gravitational pull of the sun and moon on the earth also causes waves. These waves are tides or, in other words, tidal waves. It is a common misconception that a tidal wave is also a tsunami. The cause of tsunamis are not related to tide information at all but can occur in any tidal state.

Waves transmit energy, not water, and are commonly caused by the wind as it blows across the ocean, lakes, and rivers. Waves caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun are called tides. The ebb and flow of waves and tides are the life force of our world ocean.

Indeed the last few days have been full of stabbing and vehicle-ramming attacks by Palestinians in Jerusalem and Hebron, the vast majority of them directed at soldiers and police officers, rather than citizens. The recent wave of violence has not claimed any Israeli lives, but it has left six of the attackers dead. Five police officers and soldiers were wounded, one of them severely.

In mid-July Border Police officers shot and killed Anwar a-Salaime in the village A-Ram, as he sat in his car. The police argued that he had attempted to run them over, although video footage clearly shows that the police shot at the car from behind after he drove past them, and that a-Salaime was shot in the back.

All these make up just a part of the wave of violence and nearly 50 years of military occupation. When we only talk about violence against Israelis, we play into the hands of those who believe the Palestinian lives do not matter. This is a dangerous place to be, especially if we want to understand where we are living, what is happening, why there is no military solution, and how we can one day end the occupation and the violence and live in peace.

Positives from lockdown? More online sales and heightened engagement with social media to encourage people to be creative, cook more, use leftovers etc. We have also seen increased online sales and have launched with Daylesford (as their hummus manufacturer was no longer to continue).

Advice to other brands? Reactivity is key at the moment. I feel there are two types of business at a time like this. Those who hibernate and wait for the storm to blow over, and those who aim to thrive. Both are viable strategies, but my strategy is focused on thriving.

Running for over five years, Laura and her team run free events throughout the year including Mindful Drinking Festivals and also have released their first book. Throughout the last few weeks, their focus has been supporting their 50,000 members and trying to open up access to their support courses; a reaction to the ever-growing demand for online courses to change drinking.

Changes made over the last few weeks? We have delayed some of our plans. We were due to launch an RTD 250ml can of Sea Arch and Tonic but we are delaying the launch at least until we better understand the situation. We just want to give ourselves time to learn more about how the current market is working and how it is likely to evolve. We had also planned to do several trade shows, but they have all been cancelled or postponed, so we will try to reach out directly to the potential customers who would have attended those shows.

Our business is based around both on and off trade, so we have focused our attention to the off trade to include both retail shops and online outlets.

Our key focus is to make sure all business costs are closely monitored and to cut back where practical and possible.

Brand changes? As a supplier to the on-trade, REAL saw 80% of our business shut up shop overnight with all pubs, bars and restaurants sadly forced to close. But we quickly shifted our attention to our online shop and the digital side of the business and the response has been great. We have some very loyal customers who have supported us by shouting about what we do, and a very flexible team, many of whom who have changed roles to focus on digital communication. We are also now focusing on the off-trade and speciality retailers and have expanded our reach, particularly with speciality retailers around our local area. The community spirit between local businesses and local customers has been really positive.

Wisdom to others? Brands need to be planning for the worst case scenario and working out if they have enough cash to survive. If not, brands should be doing everything they can to improve their cash position. This is a great opportunity to think long term, review business models, plan initiatives, and work out ways to be stronger when we are on the other side of lockdown. Whilst this is an incredibly painful process for a huge number of companies, opportunities will be presented and small, agile companies should find ways to benefit.Lastly, this is probably obvious, but brands should be 100% sure they are aware of the government support available and use it if needed.

Current positives? The amount of help & support we have seen between our members and to us has been immense. Helping each other get hold of essential items for each other, setting up online challenges to keep everyone connected and a general collective positive spirit in the face of adversity has been amazing. Our Legends program for 60+ has been gaining momentum and is something we are excited to grow. This is probably where we see ourselves being able to have the biggest impact as we see it as vital to keep this demographic fit & healthy. It started with a few parents of members and has grown to 20+ a class with people calling in from all over the world.

Describe your last few weeks? It has certainly been a challenging few months. Due to coronavirus related delays we had to do a 3 week pre-sale, pushing our official launch back to the end of March. Incredibly we ended up receiving over 7000 orders in just 20 days which we were obviously thrilled about but this came with its share of operational issues. I found myself at the height of disruption reaching out to the MD of Lush on linkedin begging for some baking soda so we could produce our launch batch as our suppliers had closed down due to coronavirus. They replied which was amazing. We have had to be incredibly responsive throughout the last few weeks and there have been several moments where it looked like we were going to be unable to receive stock but fortunately through a lot of chasing and a bit of luck we have managed to get things over the line and up and running. ff782bc1db
