I need a collection of clips/scenes from movies for research. Downloading all movies and finding the correct spot is too time consuming and I was hoping there is something like that?

Would be nice if I can search by movie name or even better if I can search from transcript

You can drag individual video clips and photos in a Magic Movie project to rearrange them. You can also drag a video clip or photo onto another video clip or photo to create a group. Groups let you keep a number of video clips and photos in a particular order, so that when you move the group, the items stay together and in order.

Just stumbled across this and I love it! Never thought about teaching text structure this way. I use Disney video clips for figurative language, but this is awesome! What other ways do you use video clips to reinforce literary elements/reading/writing lessons?

Hello. I am currently working on a presentation for a series of lectures that I will be giving to the general public, and I want to use clips from several copyrighted documentary films to include in my presentation.

Remember the Titans truly is the quintessential team building movie, if there ever was one. There is no number of leadership movie clips that will do it justice. You just have to watch (and watch and watch) and know the whole movie to understand the complete transformation made by this high school football team in the early 70s.

Great leaders remember there is no I in team. And, with great leadership comes increased productivity, collaboration, and better visions in the workplace. Even though some of these movie clips may be fictional, the qualities that the leaders exhibit are not. These clips can be fun reminders for your team as to how important each person is to the team and what your leader should improve upon!

Instant Movie lets you quickly create a professional-looking, edited movie, complete with titles, soundtrack, effects, and transitions by using a simple (and quick) step-by-step process. When you create an Instant Movie, Adobe Premiere Elements analyzes your clips (if they have not already been analyzed). It applies Smart Tags as necessary, edits the clips, and applies a theme of your choice. You can personalize the theme by using your own title and ending credits. In addition, you can supply your own music or effects.

Movie themes create movies with a specific appearance. For example, the Wedding Doves theme adds an elegant introduction and conclusion, flying white doves overlay, and wedding background music. The Comic Book theme creates a fun kids party video by adding stylish effects, such as Color Emboss and large artistic fonts in the title. Each theme uses a unique editing style for selecting, trimming, and sequencing clips.

Parents need to know that Paper Clips follows how students in a small town study the Holocaust in a unique way, but it doesn't provide too many potentially disturbing or graphic details about the atrocities committed during the Holocaust. In 1998, the principal, assistant principal, and language arts teacher of a middle school in Whitwell, Tennessee began a Holocaust studies class that would not only change the students involved but transform their entire small town. The voluntary after-school class was initially created as an extended lesson in tolerance and other cultures, but in order to truly understand what six million killed Jews meant, the students decided to attempt to collect six million paper clips. The paper clip, as it turned out, was doubly significant, because it was designed by a Jewish Norwegian named Johan Vaaler, and then during WWII, the Norwegians wore them as a form of protest to the Nazi regime. With the help of German newspaper correspondents stationed in Washington, D.C., the project was publicized all over the world, and the kids, over the course of four years, were sent more than 29 million paper clips from celebrities, heads of state, WWII veterans, and most importantly, Holocaust survivors themselves.

This well-meaning documentary isn't a slick, celebrity-narrated account of the Whitwell students' simple but life-changing Holocaust studies project. In fact, the biggest celebrity is Happy Days dad Tom Bosley, who, as a Jewish grandfather, sent in one paper clip to the class. Instead, the documentary earnestly focuses on the principal Linda Hooper, assistant principal David Smith, and language-arts teacher Sandra Roberts, and the students and journalists who helped spread the word that a group of white Southern kids were doing their best to honor the six million Jewish people killed by Hitler's racist regime. Throughout the collection process, the students, who didn't even know any Jews personally when they began the project, become attuned to the stories behind the paper clips and understand that unchecked intolerance and prejudice can lead to genocide.

Smith, in particular, admits that he was raised with racist attitudes and never thought twice about making certain racial remarks -- even in front of his black college roommate. He cries, saying that he never wants his sons to describe him as a racist, and that alone makes the documentary worth watching. The incredible paper clip project isn't just a memorial, it's a living reminder of what can happen if we don't learn that other kinds of people aren't the enemy. By the time the school receives an actual German rail-car -- that once transported condemned Jews to death camps -- to house the paper clips, the entire town of Whitwell has learned not only a general history of the Holocaust, but has met and cried with survivors. For anyone looking for a way to introduce the topic of the Holocaust with young students, this documentary is a perfect place to start.

How do you get movie clips to use in editing projects? There are a few different reasons why you may need pre-existing movie footage brought into your editing program of choice. Perhaps you are putting together YouTube content such as video essays or movie reviews and you need clips of the source material, or maybe you need footage to learn how to edit or to practice with. Whatever your needs may be, there are a few different ways one can go about sourcing movie footage. We will run through each viable method.

But no matter how outlandish the plot, at their core movies examine the human condition. We tell stories about ourselves to ourselves, even if the characters are ostensibly aliens or animals or fuzzy monsters. They are based on realities we can learn from.

The students read The Diary of Anne Frank and did internet research, discovering that during World War II, the Norwegians wore paper clips in their lapels as a silent gesture of solidarity and sympathy with Hitler's victims.

David Smith, one of the teachers involved, says he knows he is stereotyped as a Southerner, and admits that he stereotypes Northerners. In changing their perceptions about minorities, the students of Whitwell also changed perceptions others may have held about them. That America has been divided by pundits into blue states and red states does not mean there are not good-hearted people living everywhere; in a time of divisiveness, there is something innocently naive about the paper clip project, which transforms a silly mountain of paper clips into a small town's touching gesture.
