I've recently got crunchyroll subscription but my smart TV doesn't have crunchyroll app. Leaving me the option to buy firestick. Now I've seen many posts regarding firestick being a bad experience for crunchyroll. So is it still true ? Is it still bad for crunchyroll ?

The connected satellite is then connected to the TP Link which the Fire stick and a Virgin box also connect to, the firestick then connects to the TV via a usb port, the TV box connects via a HMDI cable.

It's just the iptv, all the other stuff on the firestick, Amazon Prime, Youtube is all working - yes it has the Armor on, and it keeps on saying it's blocked something on the firestick, which I believe is probably the iptv, but every time i try and access security in the Orbi app, it crashes

Check if it connects fine with router to see if its not an issue with firestick. If it works fine with router, check for firmware upgrade on extender if any and modify wireless channel on the router to see if that helps.

My 4K firestick keeps changing the model of TV that is connected to which causes the remote to not control the TV. Previously this same firestick was plugged into a samsung tv. I also have another 4K firestick on my network that is plugged into a samsung. Can you tell me why it will not keep the current model and changes to a samsung model. This happens while I am watching that TV.

I take my firestick wherever I go but often enough I can't use it if the wifi login is behind a captive portal or browser login. While I'm working on a hardware solution involving a travel router, it would be great if this could be done by just allowing access to apps on the firestick after connecting to wifi, even if there is 'no internet connection'. Opening the browser should then prompt the wifi service to deliver you to the login page. I am pretty sure this was a selling point (at least among geeks) years ago when I was researching streaming devices. It would be such a useful feature!

First, while on the screen where the firestick informs you there is no internet connection, go across to the right and select the Settings cog icon. Then go to applications> manage installed applications> Silk Browser >Launch application. Then you can either enter any web address and hopefully the login page will open. Or try to access the internet on a different device, such as your phone, and then note down the web address of the login page in the browser and then enter this address in the Silk browser app on the firestick. After I logged in this way the firestick had internet access.

Something (hardware or software related) on the firestick is triggering a slow down when a vpn is turned on. It could be the processor, memory or wifi chip set up as those are the two major differences between the fire tv box and stick.

I've tried Surfshark, NordVPN, WEVPN, and CyberGhost and most of them worked perfectly fine on my laptop or phone. However, I wasn't always able to get the same result on my firestick. Most of them seemed to be able to unblock Netflix US, but I got several proxy error messages when trying to unblock Netflix UK, Australia, or Brazil. I'd like to switch to one of these VPNs for firestick since these are affordable, Did anybody else have used any VPN for firestick mentioned.

When using the Amazon Firestick it constantly freezes or buffers when streaming. I found that the issue appears to be with the google mesh system as when I unplug it, the firestick works perfectly well downstairs on just the router alone. Just a very strange issue that I cannot find the answer to.

For now I've set up my router to split 2.4ghz and 5ghz into separate ssid. I use the firestick on 5Ghz and other devices on 2.4ghz. The firesticks ssid is now on 5Ghz band and not interfering with 2.4Ghz band

Roku- Needs to enable "Miracast" Screen Mirroring in the settings like the firestick, both android and PC. Can "Cast" certain apps without mirroring full screen. Need to enable Airplay on certain Roku models Not all support airplay at all, app or not.

Cost per dollar, the mid level firestick has more features for less money. For 4k, HDR, and Dolby Vison, you need the Roku Streaming Stick 4K, which is $50. or the Roku Streaming Stick 4K(PLUS) for $70

Chrome cast is amazing for casting apps from an Android phone, can cast desktop from PC (have to start in chrome), can use LUNA and Google Stadia, (And cast GeForce NOW) if you are into gaming. Cost is close to Firestick, features are about the same as firestick EXCEPT, it is a little more picky when using iPhone. Need to use the Google TV app, or Google Home on your iPhone to get them to talk.

A quick google makes it look like you have to install an app in the firestick? And then which are not malware, require payment, don't have ads?! AirScreen is an app youd recommend? Free? Fremium? No ads?

Just came back on the Oct 10 Prima cruising, and had no issue plugging my firestick into the HDMI port and changing the source. I had loaded TV shows and movies on USB and used the firestick to watch it.

Two days ago Apple TV on firestick worked fine. Yesterday I started getting message "Video not Available" check your internet connection. My internet connection is fine. I tried all the tips I read like reinstalling and resetting Fire. Everything else on the fire stick works fine, so something changed with the apple app and Fire stick. Apple people, please look into this and fix it. I pay good money to watch Apple TV and now I can't.

this kept happening to me as all and it was quite frustrating. I checked for updates on the application, the firestick software, etc, and nothing was working. I restarted all of my apps, checked for video playback. I also went ahead and logged out of my apple ID and then logged in again and that seemed to work??? You could try that! Good luck!

I'm using a Samsung sound bar with a TV and a firestick and have all sorts of audio sync issues when using Dolby digital output. The AV sync, although set in the firestick settings, would change between different media.

I have to say, I don't believe this is a Samsung issue specifically, but perhaps all devices that may use HDR over HDMI 2.0 (not HDMI 2.1)..... so older TV's etc. In my case, I struggled with a Firestick 4k and the audio sync settings required, changing from one type of media to another. I've seen other posts on this forum and wonder if others have this issue too, so thought Id post.

**TLDR** change the firestick "Dynamic Range Settings" to "Always HDR", rather than "Adaptive". This will keep the audio sync standardized across all apps on the firestick and sound bars or amplifiers linked to the firestick.

The reason being, NON-HDR content and Stereo (or PCM) requires less bandwidth, as such there is no delay with ALL the image and audio data arriving on time at the TV. So all of a sudden the audio is therefore out of sync again and you have to re-adjust it for that app, or you just think your firestick/sound system is rubbish and give up on Dolby 5.1 or greater......

EXPLANATION (as simple as I can put it here)

When a firestick "Dynamic Range Settings" is on "Adaptive" it switches the image between Standard and HDR as it feels necessary. So a film on Netflix/Prime/Disney etc will typically play as HDR content (if your TV supports its etc) utilizing MORE of the HDMI 2.0 bandwidth. Apps like Youtube or where the content isn't HDR, will switch to a standard image, using LESS of the HDMI 2.0 bandwidth.

If you set ALL display output to "Always HDR" then even NON-HDR will be sent out as the HDR standard, so it always consumes the same amount of bandwidth, therefore always requiring the same audio delay (about 4x dots away from the right side end of the AV-Sync firestick app......in my tests at least).

You may not need to worry about whether the playback device will be a firestick if it regular video subtitles you are looking for. Video subtitles are not generally associated with a particular device, unless you are intending to make them on the fly on that particular device - see note below.

Same playback error with firestick 4k purchased in 2021. Roku 1.0.70. Updated, uninstallex, reinstalled with no change. Live television works but all other programming on the app reads playback error. Unfortunately we were unable to play this content. Please try again later.

I have been trying to get my firestick to play a youtube video but cannot find a way to make this work. Unsure if I have hit a limitation of my firestick version or a misconfiguration in home assistant.

So I'm in a suite on Oasis of the Seas so I am lucky have free streaming zoom. Brought a recently purchased 4k firestick. I managed to get it plugged in despite the TV not pivoting from the wall. The TV was "hanging" on its wall mount in a recessed wall. 2351a5e196
