What this does is it saves the number of coins collected to a Global. A Once is used to set the number of collected coins to the Label and the Number at the beginning of a level.

I'm currently programming a short game in Unity using c# where the player collects 10 coins to get to the next level. I'm having trouble making my DoorController script recognise the number of coins that have been collected.

My goal is to have heavengate locked until the Player can reach a coinValue of 10, at that point it will unlock heavengate which the player can walk through to load the next level. Using this script I receive no errors but the door doesn't act how I'm expecting it to as it still let's me pass through without collecting all the coins.

Hmm, for me that doesnt make much sense unless you still forgot to show something.In the second script you assign a variable the script itself, I cant think of any case where this is usefull. Than you wrote a method which you never call (Change Score) and in the CoinCollector Class you assign the coins collected to an int, but never use it in any of the other scripts. Since the most recent patch, I am not receiving company coin when levelling up. I levelled from 38 to 39 and 39 to 40. Each time in between matches was granted 1,000 or so company coin. I can confirm I have not received it as I had 530 CC before the patch on April 30th. After levelling up twice after the patch, I still have 530

I have been having the same issue, talked with support 3 times each time they said that it should be fixed and all I would need to do is just rank up and it would all be in my shipments including the past stuff. However, it has not worked. all in all by this point I've missed out on 9,000 company coins and it is making is very painful to play as I really can only make 300 per day off of the daily which means I cannot upgrade anything.

Summarize your bug i leveled up, quit right away, went right to "your company" and I had the same company coins as before. this is the second level up in a row that i received no company coins

walked away for an hour, quit the game completely, and when i opened it again, i had the missing 2000 coins. maybe it was lag, a delay, or a bug with the quick resume feature on xbox series x. no idea.

It might be possible to randomly generate points in the level but I need those points to work in three dimensions. There are hills, platforms, stairs, etc. and I need coins to generate in all of those places.

There are ways to spawn random actors at random locations in the level. The thing is that you need some way to tell the engine what areas you are interested to spawn in, so you can get interesting content that matches what you are imagining as a designer. Absolutely random location will seem just like that, random. And where is the level design in that? An ultra smart system that accounts for all your level variables will be very complicated to produce and probably harder and less flexible than just putting some manual areas of interest in your level.

The key for the flexibility you are looking for is doing a trace to the ground, and starting it from a point that you know is above your level. Doing this, any point that you generate in any way will work for you because you will spawn at the location corresponding vertically to your random point but at ground height. And also testing the location against some parameters (what is the slope angle? am I colliding with something different than the floor?) that will help you further refine your generated locations.

Regarding the level design, I would recommend to not make all coins needed to pick up, but have normal coins that are optional and some master coins(and only those report to exit) in another color that you have to pick up. Then place the master coins in a way that leads you to most of the normal coins, but still allows you to skip some normal coins.
