For the 25th anniversary of SNK's legendary series, Way Records is pleased to present this complete edition of the original METAL SLUG soundtracks, spread over 6 CDs and accompanied by an exclusive 96-page artbook!

Hello everyone, I have been trying to get these lists completed for a while now. I had originally posted here in the collection section before the Playlist function was available. But didn't have everything completed as far as accurate metadata and the games all being in the Games Database. I have made 3 playlists for Metal Slug as some may not want more than the basic game list for what is out there.

Have played and owned both, and can definitely say that the Wii anthology is an excellent value, but can grow tiresome and irritating given the unfortunate control restrictions. Metal Slug X on the PS1 is a mandatory purchase for both ps1 owners and Metal Slug fans. The controls are spot on, there is no gameplay slowdown of any note as compared to certain other Slug releases (PSP esp.), and the game is very easy to complete with the given amount of lives. What truly sets apart the PS1 release is that it contains several extra features that can be played, such as extra bonus mini-missions. To my knowledge these have never been made available in any other version of Metal Slug X, nor are they in any of the various compilations and anthologies of the series. And it is still very affordable- sealed copies can easily be had on EBay for under $50 or so. One key difference between the two exists: the PS1 release of MSX seems to have been specifically tweaked for the system, whereas the Wii and PSP and PS2 compilations seem to emulate the arcade versions and suffer from noticeable slowdown and load times that don't seem present (at least to me) on thePs1 Metal Slug X.

Ouch. this was completely new to me (then again, I hardly keep track of what SNK/Ignition is doing these days). I really hope that they fix these issues beacuse they seem quite crippling as far as the play experience is concerned. "Arcade perfect" seems to be what the fans want, with bonus content.

On the one hand, the games included in Metal Slug Anthology are a blast, they're translated perfectly from the arcade, and they're just as fun, over-the-top, and well-designed as they were ten years ago. On the other hand, this is a stripped-down package with no meaningful extras to speak of, its Wii-specific control options are an almost complete bust, and the lack of Classic Controller support is puzzling to say the least. Even when playing with the GameCube controller, you can't help but wonder what could have been. If Wii is the only console you own and you're a die-hard Metal Slug fan, Anthology is a serviceable way to satisfy your Metal Slug jones. If you own any other console or portable, pick up that version instead.

I say you should have given this game an even lower score because SNK tryed to blame their own lazyness on Nintendo. Back in December there was some article on IGN with someone from SNK and they said the reason the game didn't use the Classic Controller was because Nintendo wasn't allowing third parties to use it right away because they wanted all attention on the Wiimote. But what SNK said was complete sh!t since Dragon Ball Z, which came out a MONTH EARLIER as a launch game used the Classic Controller.

I would have given the game a 1 just for that fact alone. It's one thing for a SNK to be lazy, but it's another for them to blame Nintendo just to cover their own sorry asses.

METAL SLUG ANTHOLOGY celebrates the 10th anniversary of one of the greatest action arcade franchises of all time. Included in the complete collection are METAL SLUG, METAL SLUG 2, METAL SLUG X, METAL SLUG 3, METAL SLUG 4, METAL SLUG 5, and the latest entry in the series, METAL SLUG 6.

"METAL SLUG ANTHOLOGY fans' dreams are realized with this complete collection," said Ben Herman, president of SNK PLAYMORE USA CORPORATION. "With the PSP system version now available and the PlayStation2 system version coming soon, gamers will have two more ways to enjoy all the non-stop action they've come to expect from the METAL SLUG series."

player 1 starts his game. player 1 loses his last life. player 2 sends his character into the game. let player 1 countdown hit zero. you do the same for player 2 and then complete the game for each you'll have that plat no matter how many times you continued.

amazing!

just a quick note, for metal slug if you want to be sure I pres start when the other player has the last life so when I'm selecting the new player I kill myself with the other. this way you don't need any timing. hope it helps 2351a5e196
