I am looking for a way of scripting the account icon for a local user account used across multiple devices. Instead of a random picture, the idea is that this account would be singularly identifiable on any device.

In the past I found that attempting to set the user icon via script, if the path to the image didn't exist or was invalid, the icon would revert to a default grey silhouette picture. This worked for what I am trying to achieve but I would like to specifically set it using a known method, to a Memoji or already existing icon, even the headshot silhouette picture.

If you, like me, are one of the many people who adore the ability to generate a slick memoji profile picture with a nice pastel background, and then have the novel idea that you'd like to use that picture outside of your iMessage, read on!

Press delete to remove those colored pixels and voil! We now have a beautiful seemingly circular memoji profile picture we can use wherever we please! Make sure to save it in a good location and start sharing this workflow with your friends ?.

quick note about this guide: I think the ability to export the profile picture should be built into the creation of said picture, and in the future, it may be! If it is now different than when I wrote this post, please let me know and I will update it :)

Memojis are a fun replacement for using photos as profile pictures. You can design one to look just like you and place it as your Apple ID profile picture, and it will sync across all your devices with that Apple ID.

Memojis in macOS aren't revolutionary, but they add a certain level of style to the operating system. By following the steps above, you can easily change your profile picture or create your own animated character. The choice is yours.

Using Memoji as your Apple ID profile image is fun and gives you an option to prevent your real face from appearing everywhere. This change to your profile picture syncs across devices where you're using your Apple ID.

That will set the Memoji as your Apple ID and shows it everywhere from the Messages app to the App Store. You can open the "Settings" app, and the chosen Memoji will appear as your Apple ID profile picture under the search bar.

You can get the Torch scripts that I used in this article at the github project: vgg-memoji. I will try to include the images that I used but if I receive complaints I may have to take them out. If they are gone when you get there and you still want to reproduce my results with the same data please contact me directly and I will send them to you.

1. Your profile picture is found in System Preferences > Users and Groups. In the Users and Groups setting, make sure your user profile is selected in the left column and click on your picture on the right.

Apple's instant messaging service, iMessage, lets iPhone users set a profile picture and name which appears in the receiver's inbox. The feature, called 'Share Name and Photo,' has been around since 2019. Apple released the software update to iOS 16.1 with several new features and additions to its messaging service, allowing users to undo a sent message or edit messages on their iPhone or iPad.

The steps required to share a profile picture and name on the messaging app are mentioned in a YouTube video published on the Apple Support channel. To share a profile picture with others on iMessage, open the app and tap on the 'More' or the three-dot icon at the top right. From the options that appear, select 'Edit Name and Photo,' and tap on 'Choose Name and Photo.' On the following screen, tap on the three-dot icon on the right to view all the profile picture options. To click a picture and set it as the profile image for iMessage, tap on the camera icon on the left, or open the Gallery by tapping on the second icon from the left. There is also an emoji icon to set an emoji as the profile picture.

Users can also set a memoji as their display image by tapping on one of the memojis on display, or create a new memoji by tapping on the plus icon. Once the memoji is selected, users have to point the front camera towards their face, strike a pose in which they want their memoji to appear, and click the shutter button. Whether users select the memoji or an image from their gallery, iOS will ask to move and scale it to fit in a circular layout. Tap 'Done' at the top right to finalize the profile picture.

A confirmation prompt asks users if they want to use the profile picture on their Apple ID and My Card in Contacts. Tap on 'Use' to confirm or 'Not Now' to review the option later. On the next screen, enter a first and last name. Under 'Share Automatically,' select 'Contacts Only' to automatically share the updated profile picture and name with people in the contacts list, or 'Always Ask' to decide before sharing details. Finally, tap on 'Done' at the bottom of the screen. This will set the name and profile picture in iMessage. Users can edit their iMessage profile picture and contact info by going to Settings > Messages > Share Name and Photo on their iPhones.

This does not only work for Memojis, but you can also select an Animoji as well to be your profile picture on your Mac's Lock Screen. It will display the same animations and emotions as a Memoji would.

If you've been wondering how to create a custom profile picture for the contact card on your iPhone, we'll show you how. We'll also go over how to edit your contact icon if you want to update your picture, Memoji, Animoji, or initials. We've already gone over how to create a Facebook profile video, and how to take the best selfie with your iPhone. For more great tutorials on how to navigate your iPhone, check out our free Tip of the Day.

Now you have lots of options! Tap one of the photos, sets of initials, Memojis, or icons on screen to select it, or tap the camera, photo, smiley face, or pencil icon to take a new photo or choose a picture in your Camera Roll, select an emoji, or change your initials. You can also tap See More next to Memoji to find even more Memoji choices.

Tap the camera icon to take a new photo, the photos icon to choose a picture already stored in your iPhone, the smiley face icon to choose an emoji, or the pencil icon to use your initials. Choose a Memoji or Animoji in the sections below, or an emoji with a custom color background from the options at the bottom.

It may seem quite shocking, but Messages in iOS 13 and below has never allowed group pictures for threads. Instead, it displays contact images of the people in the conversation, stacked on each other horizontally. It doesn't look all that great, especially if you don't have a photo saved for some of the contacts in the conversation, so it's a great new feature to simplify the way your messages look.

Also, when in the main Messages list view of conversations, group photos will appear just like regular contact photos for one-on-one chats. But inside of the group chat, you'll still see tiny previews, only they'll be orbiting the main group picture.

If you want to take a photo, tap on the camera icon and take a picture. You can flip the camera, add flash, and zoom in and out. After taking it, you can move and scale it within the circle. Hit "Use Photo" when satisfied or "Retake" to try again.

You can also choose a photo you've already taken or that you've downloaded onto your iPhone. Tap on the pictures icon and choose an image from all of your photos, a specific album, or media type. Once a photo is selected, all you have to do move and scale it until the parts you want are within the circle, then tap "Choose." Next, select a filter (optional), and then hit "Done."

Underneath More, you'll see several preselected emojis you can choose from. To pick another emoji, tap the plus (+) sign instead nor hit the emoji button under the group name field (next to the pictures icon). You can also choose a preselected emoji and just change it from there.

When you tap on an Animoji or Memoji, you can either choose a preselected pose or snap a photo of yourself posing in real-time. You can retake pictures by tapping on the red trash can button to delete your last pose. Hit "Done" when finished.

When you go to Settings > Game Center. You will notice you can easily choose and create an avatar by tapping the profile picture. I like my app to do the same. I want to call a sheet in SwiftUI that will return an Avatar Image so I can use that as the profile picture.

This is built with the picture-element and the custom card state-switch, button-card & card-mod. I have put alot of trial and error trying to make it look good on most mobile displays but it is primarily made for the iPhone SE.

A question on transparent memoji pictures. If have them stored as transparent PNGs. When I e.g. put them into a powerpoint slide, it works with the face having transparent background. If I add it as a person picture in home assistant, the picture crop view does also show correcty transparent background, but then it does however upload the picture with a completely black background.

Am I doing something wrong or is the person picture functionality not supporting transparency and I need to use the picture from a different source if I want to use it in lovelace?

Right, in the standard lovelace cards it makes it at least a circle, but if you use the person picture in e.g. a custom button card, you have it with a black rectangle. But as a work around, I uploaded the same png and linked to that local file, and then it is transparent as expected. ff782bc1db
