As with any language, you go to system preferences/language & text/input sources and check the box for the language you want. Also check the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar. Also check the box for Keyboard Viewer. Then you go to the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and select the language you want and type. Select Keyboard Viewer from the same menu to see which key does what.

I am facing a font issue in Premiere Pro while working with Malayalam text. I have tried using all the available fonts, but none of them are producing the desired result. Interestingly, I am able to achieve the desired result in After Effects, but if I copy the same text into Premiere Pro, it appears different. The motion graphics template is working fine, but I need more properties for this project. I am attaching an example to explain the issue better. The white text is from Premiere Pro, and the other one is from After Effects. My software version is Premiere Pro 24.2.1 (build 2).

@BrewManNH See the code in my first post. In line number 2, you can see a strange text in red color. That text is in malayalam. Why it is showing like that because the font in the browser is English font. But i have programatically changed my RTB font to a malayalam font. And then i can;t see the right malayalam letters in RTB. I can only see the text as same as shown in this browser.

@BrewManNH , No way. Interesting thing to notice. I have another controls in my form. Say a button. I set my button's font to "ML-TTRevathy". It is working. It shows the font properly. So only RichEdit control has the problem.

I am used to malayalam swanalekha(m17n) and tamil phonetic (m17n) keyboard layouts on Manjaro Gnome, But with the latest update, I am unable to type anything in malayalam or tamil on the Browser(firefox).

It doesnt work anywhere like within nautilus, while searching documents, Libre office if I even if I explicitly selected a malayalam font(Noto). I can still type other languages like russian directly without selecting a particular font. I waited for a couple weeks for another update and the issue persists. Pls help.

The issue regarding not being able to view the keyboard layouts for languages was restricted to m17n module and therefore I am hoping that the next update might fix it.

I've heard that people read malayalam () ebooks on kindle. Not the images placed in a PDF file. The file which we can read like normal ebook format (controlling the fontsize mainly).

In case this doesn't work check if the text in the file is in unicode. Earlier there were many fonts around (like the old fonts used in Manorama website) that weren't unicode and not supported by most readers.
