I created Links List as a way to share links with my wife. During the day, I would findmyself navigating various subreddits, finding cute images that I would like to show her,but that would mean I'd end up sending multiple messages to her in a short amount of time.Not only would this be annoying to have her phone going off multiple times in a row, italso made it hard to have regular conversation around the links.

For example, there are three folders in Obsidian: A, B and C, each containing notes.

Now, I create a new note in C, and I want to filter the notes with the dataview plugin.The filtering rule is:

If a note is in folder B, and the note links (outgoing link) to note in folder A, it will be filtered;

If a note is in folder B, and the note is linked (backlink) to note in folder A, it will also be filtered.

There are a lot of individual Notes pages that are children in the space. However, the main page in the space is just empty, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get to a list of links to all the various notes I've created.

Right now the only way I'm able to access these various subpages is through the "recent changes" menu, and then I'm copy-pasting links into the top level page. This is incredibly tedious, and I'm sure I'm missing links that are not appearing in the list.

(This would not solve "blank main page" by the way, but the pages entry is a page tree. I tend to use the main page for other ways of organising links for people to explore - label, contributor and recently updated for example)

I cannot even figure out how to manually link the dropdown links to the collection items - the only non-external URL linking option it gives is to link to a page, and my collection list and all items in it are not considered a page so they do not appear as a selectable page to link to.

If you have a manual action against your site for unnatural links to your site, or if you think you're about to get such a manual action (because of paid links or other link schemes that violate our quality guidelines), you should try to remove the links from the other site to your site. If you can't remove those links yourself, or get them removed, then you should disavow the URLs of the questionable pages or domains that link to your website.

If you have found URLs or sites to disavow in the links report for your site, you can download the data from the Links report by clicking the export button. Be sure to remove any URLs from the downloaded file that you don't want to disavow.

I don't like this duplication, but I don't see what choice I have. If I remove the explicit bullet point lists, then GitHub won't display the reference links. If I remove the reference links, then GitHub shows the bullet point list (of course), but the embedded links like "testthat" above don't work.

That is, it's not a good practice to include links verbatim and without a meaningful title. I should keep the link URLs only in the reference links section at the bottom, and in the bullet point list use meaningful titles.

When you view this on GitHub, the URLs shouldn't really matter, and if you really want to know you can move the mouse over. When you view this in plain text, now the links have meaningful titles, which is useful additional information about the URLs.

The answer to your question will depend on what your Markdown parser supports. Nowadays, most parsers support CommonMark (plus some flavouring). However, don't take this for granted and double check it. If CommonMark is not supported, try using the "vanilla" Markdown syntax as described below. Just be aware that the "vanilla" Markdown specification is flawed and may result in broken links (by design, almost).

Hopefully this is not a dumb question, but here we go: I have here a list with a few items and they each should link to some page. Basically a vertical menu, right? The thing is, I already styled the whole list so I would like to just bring a text link into it, instead of rehashing the whole thing.

On the other hand, try and reframe the way you think about the look-up table. Rather than worry about the superfluous functionality that you are not using, think of the fact that if you edit an entry in the select list, you need to individually edit all the rows that that value has been used in. If you use a lookup table, Coda will automatically rename all rows using the value that you edited.

To create a nested list using the web editor on GitHub or a text editor that uses a monospaced font, like Visual Studio Code, you can align your list visually. Type space characters in front of your nested list item until the list marker character (- or *) lies directly below the first character of the text in the item above it.

To create a nested list in the comment editor on GitHub, which doesn't use a monospaced font, you can look at the list item immediately above the nested list and count the number of characters that appear before the content of the item. Then type that number of space characters in front of the nested list item.

In this example, you could add a nested list item under the list item 100. First list item by indenting the nested list item a minimum of five spaces, since there are five characters (100 .) before First list item.

Typing an @ symbol will bring up a list of people or teams on a project. I used the Amazon Assistant browser extension exclusively to add stuff from the web to my wish list for later. It was like a handy shopping bookmarks tool for me, though the rest of the extension's features sucked and were annoying. Unfortunately, Amazon Assistant was discontinued at the end of March and I can't use this function anymore.

So I go to my Amazon wish list on the web to manually add instead, but I can't find any sort of "Add" button for non-Amazon links. Am I blind or did they take it away? You can still add Amazon products to wish list from the Amazon product page, but I can't find a way to add links from elsewhere on the web.
