I do various path and also at the moment I am doing 2 Guru Granth Sahib paths, one is on my own, and the other on is on KTV, it is so nice, I enjoy doing it with the Sangat, it is also on You tube. It makes my me feel better, and gives me strength, Himat etc .

The Jaap Sahib is a recitation and praise of God. It includes various names of God in various languages. Understand the fact that god has no name but is called by various names by devotees based on their experience and the blessings they have obtained from him. There is only one sole religion of humans - humanity, and the worldly path that we choose to understand the natural power, our source, source of creation - is called faith only.

though i have not memorized it - i did try and managed to memorize half of it. Go to gurmatveechar.com and download bhai jarnail singhj's jaap sahib recitation. then basically keep listening to it. you have to listen to it a lot and recite the bani in synchronization with him. also regularly read jaap sahib. after about a month ot two you will learn it off by heart but then you have to regularly do about 2 jaap sahib otherwisw you will forget it. The other option is to find jaap sahib in a musical form and do the same as above. you really have to listen to it a lot either way, easily 10 times a day

with Gods grace I have memorised it a couple of years back, here is a good idea , u cant do it all at once, stanza by stanza, recite one stanza all day or all week (in addition to doing the path from the gutka) and that way you will learn it , however long it takes but stanza by stanza. here is an audio which will help. also know the meaning of what u say, here is an english katha with word by word translation in simple english of jaap sahib, it is taken from Prof Sahib Singh Jis nitnem steek and all the words are broken down to their roots and than a meaning is also done line by line here are two videos, one of jaap sahib in easy audio just follow the links and one of jaap sahib english katha

Well personally the only think that really worked for me is repeating it everyday out loud. To me reading bani isn't about vibration or anything like that. to me its reading waheguru's words and praises. I love jaap sahib and I personally think that its the easiest one to learn because there is a pattern and its so beautiful and gets stuck in your head. other people find it hard whilst I find it easy and straight forward.

The meaning of the bani are important yes but its is way better to read them in gurmukhi because that is where you understand it properly. reading the english translation is not the same as reciting actual jaap sahib. although it is important to know the definition of the bani it is far more important to recite it with a clear mind and in actual gurmukhi. With time the meanings become clear.

Different things work for different people. The primal patterns of Japji Sahib are already in your brain. Learning it by heart is a matter of driving the wagon over the same path each day until the wagon wheels make clear ruts in the path (your brain.) Here's what worked for me: I recited Japji Sahib OUT LOUT every morning six mornings a week and on the seventh morning I recited it out loud in English. That way both the sound current of the Gurbani as well as its meaning became engraved. 2351a5e196
