Hey community ;)! So i think my problem vas a very easy solution, i just can't figure it out. So i got an IPhone 14 plus on April and i'm in love with it, but everytime im going into an App like TikTok and i lower the volume with the lateral buttons because i dont want to watch the video with a loud volume, it also affects my ringtone and notification volume, so at moments i cant even hear my phone ringing or at moments it sounds super loud. So how can i separate these two things? I had an iPhone 8 Plus before and i never had that problem! Please help :(

Sady, no. There is no way to separate the volume levels of notifications vs ring tones like you can on a Android. Which I find with the capabilities and advancements of Apple and their products that they should be able to.

I have an iPhone 12 Max Pro and currently when I change the volume it puts my ring tone volume and my notification volume at the same volume together, when I prefer to have my ringtone loud and my notifications at a lower volume.

Available options will vary by country. So if you don't see an option to chat support, you can call directly using the number for your country (or the one closest to you) using: Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

Hey! Thanks!! I have already done that but i feel like it doesn't change anything, i don't know if my phone is damaged but i can't even listen a voicenote in WhatsApp privately. I have to adjust the slider constantly and multiple times a day and it's so stressing and confusing! :( . Somehow, ir the slider in control center is on mute, my phone sounds extremely loud, but if it's to it's maximum level then my phone is on mute, even with the "change whit buttons'' option turned off!

Yes you can. I just got my iPhone 14 yesterday and changed it today. Go to settings, then sounds and haptics, make sure change with buttons is green and haptics is on always on. I had to do this with my 11 as well.

We appreciate those additional details. Next, let's ensure your iPhone is fully updated. This installs feature improvements and fixes that can resolve unexpected behavior like this. These steps from Update your iPhone or iPad show how to back up and update:

Another way to adjust your volume would be the Control Center. Swipe down on the top right side to see the volume slider in Control Center. To learn more about Control Center, follow: Access Control Center on your iPhone

This problem has been around as long as I can remember just like not having a dismiss button on the Siri answer screen. Apple does not believe in transparency. It would be really great to have a list with the requests along with the number of people requesting it.

This I have noticed has been a HUGE requested feature throughout Google.

This is the Year 2023!! With a Firmware update along with updating the App this could be done. This should be a standard feature.

I have had my Doorbell for over a year and it so annoying having my normal Ringtone on my Android Phone as notification for the Doorbell!! On my iPad it uses the standard Ringtone for Facetime!! There is currently no possible way to change it.

Already having to address Arlo Solar Panel problem connected to Arlo 4 Pro (which finally got fixed yesterday by Firmware update), when is Arlo going to address this... If only I knew this annoying feature was there I would of looked elsewhere...

I have an Android Phone and and iPad, I DO NOT have an iPhone which is the link you directed me to. I have an Android Phone and an iPad as I mentioned above.

At the moment there is no way to change it on Android Phone or iPad. Why is this feature available for iPhone and not Android or iPad? There are just as many Android Phones out there!!

The norm is when bringing out a Product you make it available for all devices ie; Google Home is Android and they make it available across the board, even IOS.

Why do I get Emails saying that I got the answer to this problem within and to mark it as resolved. NO I did not get an answer to fix this problem The answer was for iPhone NOT Android.

So this problem still exists ty.

Arlo, when will you be providing a custom doorbell ringtone option for Android? While you're at it, why not just a notification instead of a call from my doorbell, especially when I'm home? I can see this has been an issue for years. I am just setting up my system, but will be returning it if it's true that Arlo has no intention of resolving this issue. It's one thing to have good cameras, it's an entirely different matter to have a crude security system. Notification customization is a pretty simple feature to program. I look forward to hearing from you regarding this issue.

Surely there has to be something a technology company can do to allow their customers to decide what notifications they need, especially if they are working from home. Other video door bell manufacturer's have this ability!

I totally agree, it is ridiculous, and especially with the several seconds of delay before that phone call comes, it was always distressing to me until I learned to ignore, that the phone would start ringing just as I was approaching the door to answer the doorbell. Especially the first few times, before I was used to that, and I let the incoming call go to voicemail but then couldn't find it! Was I losing my mind? No, the product designers were. Even after I understood what was going on, it would feel like too many things happening at once, and what if it was someone else calling about something important? Also annoying to fiddle with and cancel the call before I open the door, so that my visitor can have a welcoming experience. At best it delays answering the door and in most cases it means the person answering the door is slightly frazzled and has to apologize for those noises in the background, or if the doorbell annoyingly started prompting for a voicemail in a jarring mechanical voice while I was standing there trying to receive the person warmly.

Eventually I turned off the voicemail antifeature, and wish I could turn off the calls as well and just have the notification. Two-way communication could still be supported if clicking the notification brought up a screen in the app providing a push to talk function. If I could not do that, but could just set my own ringtone for the Arlo calls, at least then I could set a 30 second custom ringtone that makes an initial doorbell-like sound and then gets quieter as it goes. Maybe some people might still prefer the legacy call functionality but it could be made to support either mode.

Of course I know I would be dreaming to even request it, or to have any hope that it would ever be done, as it's very clear that Arlo has no intention of serving its smart home customers and does not understand their needs.

As there are zero replies to this query from both @JamesC and @ShayneS it just goes to prove that either they don't know the answer and can't be bothered to admit this or, if they repesent the company, the company has zero interest in the questions posted by their user-base.

For personalized support specific to the Arlo products you own, access Support from within the Arlo iOS or Android App. Simply login to your Arlo App, go to Settings, Support, then select the Arlo product you would like support for.

Wow! I finally got it but it was extremely counterintuitive. I had to go to the Ringtone settings page on my iphone 13 and there was a section with "Store" with two buttons, "Tone Store", and something like "Download all downloadable ringtones from the store".

I had no interest in purchasing ringtones from the store, so I didn't bother tapping this at first, but I figured what the heck, and I tapped the "download all downloadable ringtones", and the .m4r file's ringtone instantly appeared in the ringtones list in settings, and I was able to use it.

If anyone knows of a more elegant native method for importing an M4R ringtone without a Mac or PC, please share it here. One might be forgiven for imagining that Apple intentionally keeps the process abstruse to encourage ringtone sales through the iTunes Store.

If your iPhone is not ringing for Dialpad calls, there are several possible reasons and solutions. Firstly, check if notifications are muted by swiping a Dialpad notification to the left and tapping "Options" to ensure that notifications are not muted. Additionally, verify that the iPhone's notification settings for Dialpad are enabled, including Background App Refresh, Notifications, Lock Screen notifications, and Immediate Delivery. Check the sound and haptic settings to ensure that the ringer volume is not set to 0 and that the ringtone is audible. Make sure Do Not Disturb mode is off and that unknown callers are not silenced in the phone settings. Disable WiFi Assist if it is causing missed notifications. Finally, check your own behavior, such as unlocking the phone or using headphones, which may silence call notifications.

Luckily there is a way to mute ringtones but keep the call notification around. This means your iPhone will ring, but other devices will stay silent and just show you the incoming call, giving you an option to answer them or hang up right there.

Go to System Preferences/Notifications, find FaceTime in the list and turn off "Play sound for notifications". This way macOS will show all incoming FaceTime, FaceTime Audio, and regular phone calls in the top right, but your Mac gonna stay silent.

For some reason, there is no way to disable sound for call notifications on iOS and iPadOS, although there is a workaround: you can create a silent ringtone using GarageBand or you can buy one from the iTunes Store (buying will also make it available for your other iOS devices).
