What is the problem?

The stream just won't start

What did you already try to solve it?

I tried editing octopi.txt to enable usb camera, i Added the -y at the end, i tried switching to a different fps (10, 15 and 20 with vga and 25, but only with 'HD'), i follow this post USB webcams known to work with mjpg-streamer

I tried rebooting into safe mode, as I saw somewhere it could be a conflict with plugins.

The problem started when I accidentally tried to use my webcam for 2 Google Hangouts/Gchat video calls at once - I stupidly turned it on in the second call before I turned it off in the first. The video continued in the first call but showed only a white screen in the second call. After I turned it off in the first call, and ever since then, my webcam will only show a white screen at any time, in multiple applications, for multiple days (including the Logitech Camera Settings app, Skype etc.)

The cam is working with all softwares like cheese which are available in Software Center, but the main problem is the webcam consists of controllers and effects by default along with the webcam if we install the Software got along with the webcam. I already installed the same webcam on Windows. It's working fine with all effects and controllers like zoom out zoom in and pixel range selection, wide screen or standard and all these. But in Ubuntu it's just working without any control of those. If I want to go for 720p or 480p its not getting possible here. So this is the problem i got with this in Ubuntu.Does anyone know how it is possible to add those controls in Ubuntu?

What you want is to use software that comes with webcam, that can't be done since that software is made for windows (by Logitech decision), not Linux. However there is good software for Linux, for example guvcview:

I've never used or installed a webcam before, so bear with me. I plugged the camera into a USB port and nothing happened. What should happen? How do I mount the camera? It didn't come with directions, only a disc for Windows (I'm running Linux, see below).

Your laptop's webcam is probably horrible. But after you've spent hundreds (or thousands) of dollars, you may not have much more room in your budget for an expensive external camera. The Logitech HD Webcam C310 is a $32 camera that provides sharp 720p video, but if you want ambient-noise rejection, full-HD video or easier mounting, you'll need to look at something a bit more expensive.

It's a webcam's job to look at you, but the C310 feels a bit like it's gawking. Unlike some of Logitech's other cameras, the 2.7-inch-wide camera juts out in front of the bezel on your monitor or laptop display. The front of the camera is a gunmetal-gray oval, while the back and securing arm are both black.

Unfortunately, the C310's mounting mechanism is less effective than the ones that keep other webcams, such as the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920, in place. The webcam features a hinge with a plastic arm to hold it on top of a screen. After a bit of fiddling, I got it tight on my laptop, but my external monitors, which have rounded backs, proved to be a challenge. The C920 has a third part, a rubber foot, that held it tightly against every monitor I tried it on. The top of the monitor is the only place you'll keep this camera. Unlike the C920 and some other webcams, the C310 doesn't have a mount for tripods.

The C310 is fine for some Skyping with friends, but I wouldn't use it to stream on Twitch or YouTube, or to teleconference in a professional setting. Pictures I took with the 720p webcam were fairly sharp, but a little grainy. A shot I snapped while sitting in our well-lit lab caught my face and hair but didn't pick up the fabric in my shirt the way the C920's 1080p lens did. In a pitch-black, windowless room with only the light from my laptop, the picture was even grainer, and it didn't capture details in my hair or beard. More upscale models, such as the C920 and the C930e, did catch those details, although they weren't quite as clear as they were in bright light.

The webcam doesn't have a wide-angle lens, so you'll be the only one in the frame (unless you and your colleagues or friends are very close). The C920's lens has a 78-degree field of view, and while Logitech doesn't publish numbers for the C310, it's far less spacious.

Logitech's bundled Webcam Software lets you take precise control of the C310. Users can zoom in and pan in every direction to set up the frame however they so choose. The app also includes a motion detector, so you can set up the webcam as a security camera. Additionally, it allows you to snap photos and record videos directly to your hard drive if you don't have a separate camera app.

If you need a sharper webcam than the one that comes on your laptop but don't want to break the bank, the Logitech HD Webcam C310 is for you. At $32, it's cheap enough to be an impulse buy, and you'll have sharp photo and video quality, especially in good lighting.

As you know, many of your clints, like me, are ought to work from home during this pandemic. The use of your Microsoft Teams-software has increased a lot. You are working hard to update this software every week, I image. I bought a Logitech C310-webcam, so I can work from home. The webcam is from a hardware specs point of view just fine, but Logitech isn't supplying the most advanced and updated software for it, in terms of drivers or control-software. However, it provides a widescreen-setting. When choosing this, it isn't mitigated to Microsoft Teams. There, it just reverts to the standard setting. There is no way I can change the webcam into widescreen-mode within the Teams-settings. I asked the people over there at Logitech to update there drivers/software so it works better with Teams. And I asked to get in contact with you, so you may work together to make a solution. I don't know who's to make the biggest effort, but I would point out that I'm just a user who misses a bit of essential functionaity. I would really appreciate the effort, knowing that this will be helpful for a lot of other customers. So would you be able to reply to this request within 2 weeks time, so I can be informed about the possibilities, the things that can't or won't be done? And of course that what will be done :). All right, I'm using a C310 cam with control software build 2.10.4.0 from the year 2020. Logitech's driver version is 13.80.853.0 (from the magical year.... 2012 :p).

If you want to spend well under $50 for a basic webcam to use for school, video chatting with family and friends, or virtual meetings with your colleagues, the Logitech C310 HD provides a decent image with respectable audio.

However, if you prefer a webcam that provides full HD 1080p, auto focus, and even has a privacy shutter, the Logitech C920S Pro HD is the middle ground between budget-friendly and more expensive webcams.

I'm new to Labview domain. I'm using Logitech c310 webcam for image acquisition using Labview 2014 f1. Now problem is that when I open the cam with the vision assistant app, it properly detected and working (attach figure: NI vision assistant.png). But under NI MAX, it doesn't work and encircle cross appear next to cam (figure: NI MAX.png). Apart from that, I also tried creating Blank VI (LabView project), cam shown under NI_IMAQdx devices but can't work (figure: NI vision acquisition.png).

Great for use with your laptop or desktop computer, Logitech's C310 HD Webcam is a versatile, full-featured solution for your video recording, chatting, and photo-taking needs. This webcam captures video in a vivid widescreen HD 720p. It features a built-in RightLight 2 technology so that your webcam will produce the best possible image, even in low-light conditions. Well-suited for video calls or IM chatting, the webcam has a built-in microphone with RightSound technology that neutralizes acoustic noise in the background so your conversations sound clear and natural. In terms of video chatting, the webcam is compatible with many IM applications, particularly Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, and AOL Instant Messenger. Aside from chatting, the webcam can also record video and upload it to YouTube or Facebook with the webcam's one-click upload button (you'll need to first install the included software).

The Logitech C310 HD Webcam is an affordable webcam with microphone built-in for a plug-and-play solution. The C310 has 1-click Facebook and YouTube upload, digital zoom, and UVC compliant. Optimized for Laptops and Windows.

The Logitech C310 is an affordable webcam that films in 720p HD or takes 5MP photos. A built-in microphone with noise reduction technology makes your videos or Skype calls clear. The C310 is also compatible with Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo messenger, and other popular messaging apps.

The C310 webcam has automatic light correction to adjust for the best picture quality, and Logitech fluid crystal technology makes for smoother video and sharper pictures in richer colors with clearer sound.

Sharing, socializing, connecting with the people you care about - that's what makes a webcam different. And Logitech HD webcams are about sharing your life - but bigger, better, brighter, smoother. High-def yourself.

I'm working on a project where I use a webcam to continuously take pictures at varying exposure values (to make a stream of HDR images). I've been using a Logitech C310 camera and I've been setting the exposure value by sending the following to the command line: e24fc04721
