Father's Day is a holiday honoring one's father, or relevant father figure, as well as fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. In Bangladesh there is no historical tradition of celebrating Father's Day (Bengali/Bangla: / , Baba/abbu dibosh) and has been popularized by Western influences in the country. In Latvia, Father's Day (Tvu diena) is celebrated on the second Sunday of September and is not a public holiday. YMCA Victoria continues the tradition of honoring the role fathers and father figures play in parenting through the annual awarding of Local Community Father of the Year in 32 municipalities in Victoria.
