These are the latest versions of the handwriting worksheets. They have been rewritten to use sweeping lines instead of static fonts. This results in natural curves that match how cursive lines are actually written. Some additional formats and features will be added as we continue development. Our free, printable handwriting worksheets provide practice writing cursive letters, words and sentences. Benefits of handwriting practice include increased brain activation and improved performance across all academic subjects.

Another great way to make things fun is by turning the activity into something more than just writing practice. For younger children you could use the bubble letter font to create a colouring page. Then have them decorate their name however they want.

You can also use these writing practice printables to practice spelling. Just insert the spelling words and have your older kids trace over them on the worksheet. To encourage concentration on each letter you can have them alternate what colours they use to write.

In a follow up to my recent post sharing some non-cursive handwriting worksheets that the girls have been using to practice their handwriting, here are some cursive handwriting worksheets I have put together for those whose children are being encouraged by their schools to write in cursive instead!

Very cool! If I had one suggestion, it would be to perhaps include an option for a zipped folder with worksheets in it for the different categories you have listed. For example you could group all JLPT files into one, or for WK do them in groups of 10. Do note this might just be my data horder tendencies coming to light here, so grain of salt. Thank you!

I am having a problem with doing the Printable-preschool-handwriting work sheet. I get it all filled out and everything and when I get it printed out the name is not on the print out. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

Personally, I like the fine tip markers. Kids might prefer the chisel tips because they nice and thick for little hands. Once done, wipe clean with a paper towel, tissue, or old sock. Add your dry erase practice sheets to a 3-ring binder to keep them organized; this also makes them easy to use during car rides.

Alternatively, if you are a gadget and tech family like we are, if you have the Procreate App an iPad, and stylus/Apple Pencil you can import the PDF file and let them practice their digital handwriting.

This group of printables features 26 pages. Each page focuses on one letter of the alphabet. At the top of the page your kiddo will work on the uppercase version of the letter and on the bottom of the page he or she will work on the lowercase version of the letter. In each section your kid will trace with arrows, trace without arrows, and then practice writing the letter.

I recently made a utility for myself to use when practicing handwriting. It generates handwriting practice sheets with whatever characters you want, and it supports three fonts. I thought it could be of use to some members here. I used to pay archchinese for this service, but I realized it isn't too hard to code...

I made something similar for myself to learn traditional characters based on their simplified counterparts. I put it together pretty quickly and haven't improved it at all, but I've included it so you can have a look, I doubt it will be of any use but you're welcome to take any part of it that you want for your own tool. I appreciate the feedback, @markhavemann. I might be able to integrate stroke order later. I do have stroke order displays implemented on other parts of my site already. The way this generator works is that each individual character is a row in the practice sheet, so if you use spaces or commas, it will add rows for those spaces or commas. I agree that could be conveyed better. This was born out of my own use case, so it is entirely specialized to how I practice handwriting. I'm open to adding additional configurability, though.

I'd like to investigate the possibility of a live preview of the practice sheets while you're making them, perhaps that would be a good interface. I appreciate that .rar file, I'll take a look. Would you say that it is a better interface to allow multiple characters per line? I was thinking if you're practicing handwriting characters, one per line is the only use case.

For the fonts -- those three fonts are available on most Windows and Mac systems, but might look a little different. I did that one with KaiTi on a Mac, but it doesn't show the same font on my Linux computer. I plan on looking in to standardizing those and not relying on the user's system, but my server itself is Linux so the fonts aren't available on that system to pre-render. In non-technical terms, the fonts depend on your computer for now but I hope to fix that in the future. If you'd like me to make those sheets with the Mac fonts and message them to you, I'd be happy to do that.

Google has a range of open/free CJK fonts called Noto CJK, but these are Heiti fonts, which IMO is not great for handwriting grids. There's an Kaiti font by Arphic and a handful of others also, but it's pretty slim pickings (though my knowledge of this is probably 2 years out of date, so maybe there have been more fonts made available under an open licence in that time). e24fc04721
