I could see that my 15 plus selfie camera images are turning way darker once the photo is clicked. It gives clean bright image before clicking. Once the photo is taken the photo turns darker and the background goes bright. Seems after processing the photo turns dark. Any settings to correct this? Please provide suggestions.

I just bought the iphone 15 pro max last week and am so disappointed with the selfie camera. The pics on my 11 were much better than this. Everything I have taken on the 15 pro max is dark and grainy and distorted. Horrible. Why is this happening? Apple, will you fix? I now hate my new phone.

I have an iPhone 15 Pro and having the same problem with my front camera dullness. I took your advice, contacted Apple Support, did the analytics & diagnostic test, and did a reformat, and the problem still persists.

To the extent, I went to the Apple tech store and the technician did the same test again, the results were all good, but the front camera was still dull, and was told nothing was wrong since the test was all green light.

i recently bought an iphone 15 pro. Even i have this issue. The front camera is really bad - photos are dark and grainy. this is really an issue which is being highlighted in other apple forums and on reddit as well.

I have the same problem with the front camera, it's terribly blurry and not of a quality level . that even the iPhone X I had was better, even on Instagram the photo comes out with a hum of bright lighting, sometimes it helps and sometimes it goes back to being blurry. Also in video calls there is blurring. The company I bought from even changed me to a new phone because they thought the camera was faulty, I thought the problem would indeed be solved but unfortunately it wasn't. I am very disappointed that I bought the phone and am not able to enjoy it, I am only busy with the bureaucracy with the supplier and there is no answer. I would appreciate an answer on what Apple can do about it.

Photo is the standard mode that you see when you open Camera . Use Photo mode to take still photos and Live Photos. Swipe left or right on the camera screen to choose one of the following camera modes:

iPhone 6 plus rear camera is not focusing, won't remain stable and is blurry no matter how still I get whether video or picture. Automatic or manual focus not working either. Front facing camera works fine. Seems OIS isn't doing anything but making it worse.

Hello, I was also experiencing this problem and I think that I may have found a solution. While trying to figure out what was wrong, I came here and saw something about the camera lens making a vibrating sound while in any app that had a camera pulled up. I happened to hear this and was figuring out what was wrong. Upon closer inspection of my camera lens, I noticed that my camera wasn't in the correct space. It was to the right of the ring about 1mm. I hit my phone against my wrist in the opposite direction of where the camera was more to and check back in the camera app. To my surprise, my camera was working just fine now. I hope you found the helpful.

That said, the replacement cameras are inexpensive and a quality tech can replace it for you without a problem. It's certainly easier than repairing an iPad, and you'll have a fully functional phone once again! Good luck.

I've been having a continuous battle with this issue. I got my 6 Plus back in September of 2016, on lease from Sprint. I got it and two weeks later Sprint decided to discontinue the 6 Plus from their lineup. I love the phone and had no issues until around the beginning of November 2016 when the camera started having these same symptoms. After doing some reading (in this thread), I called my carrier, they said contacting Apple would be my best bet. I did, and the folks at the Genius Bar fixed it up. About a month later at Christmas time, the camera starts acting up again. I wait to make a repair appointment and talk to Sprint. They tell me again, take it to Apple. I take it to them and they find it odd and go ahead and replace the entire phone with another one. This solves the issue for about three weeks. Symptoms arise again and I call Apple. They seem confused over the phone so I make another appointment. They replace the camera (now in a new device having the same problems) and I take it back with no problem. This was 3 weeks or so ago (it's just now May 4th 2017) and I am experiencing the same phone malfunctions AGAIN! Not very happy with the product I jumped for. I left a cheaper prepaid plan with a fully functioning Android device to "upgrade" to the iPhone, with which I'm having highly unexpected hardware issues.

Hello , I have been having the same problem with my iPhone , with its back camera not focusing and being wobbly as well, and when you try taking a picture with the back camera you can listen to a little sound . Do I go to the Apple Store to get it fixed or a replacement ?

The affected apps are just using the "Back Camera" so you'd expect iOS to automatically select the correct lens based on autofocus. Especially when you're using the browser to show the camera stream, it's not like you can specify which lens to use. The only options you get are "Front Camera" and "Back Camera". I'm guessing it must be a software issue with iOS.

Does the 13 Pro switch between cameras automatically for close shots? I only have a 14 Pro here, it did automatically switch before updating to 16.0.2. Now I'm curious what the 13 Pro behavior is, whether it does the automatic camera selection.

correct, every 3rd Party App is caused by this issue. This is my first comment and will probably my last one.My first Iphone in my Live.Need to ident my self my Online Ident Services .On my Desk:Apple Macbook pro M2 = camera is not good enough.Apple Iphone 14pro = App from our German identifier Service is using the apple API for the Camera = no focus.so frustrating. There is no! possibility to Video ident with an Apple Device.Thats the sad Reality.5 month -> known issue.

By default, choosing the AVCaptureSessionPresetPhoto preset for the AVCaptureSession sessionPreset property enables still image capture at the highest possible resolution for a device camera. To access lower-resolution formats, examine the AVCaptureDevice formats array and choose a format to set as the activeFormat for the device.

For some devices, the front-facing camera does not output its maximum resolution for still images by default. To access the maximum still image resolution, see High Resolution Still Images During Video Capture.

On supported devices, the camera sensor itself provides continuous, streaming high-dynamic-range output, as opposed to the traditional method of fusing a bracket of still images with differing EV values into a single high dynamic range photo.

Supported back-facing cameras include a mechanism to adjust the lens during capture to counter user hand-shake. Note that OIS is most effective for longer exposure times, and offers limited benefit for exposure times shorter than 1/30 second. To enable or disable image stabilization:

On supported cameras, dedicated focus pixels provide depth information using phase detection. Continuous auto-focus changes are very fast and very subtle, so you can enable auto-focus during video recording without adding the throbbing effect of full focus scans to recorded video.

The AVCaptureDevice devices and devicesWithMediaType: methods are deprecated in iOS 10 and later, and do not provide access to the dual camera device (instead, they provide only the wide-angle camera device). To determine whether a device contains a dual camera and select it for capture, you may either:

Call the AVCaptureDevice defaultDeviceWithDeviceType:mediaType:position: method, passing the AVCaptureDeviceTypeBuiltInDualCamera device type. If this method returns non-nil, the iOS device contains a dual camera. (If this method returns nil, you can call it again, passing the builtInWideAngleCamera device type, to obtain the default back camera.)

When you use the dual camera capture device, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), RAW Photo Capture, High Frame Rate (HFR) / Slow Motion Video, and most manual controls are not available. To use these features, specifically select either the wide or telephoto capture device. (For OIS, specifically select the wide-angle camera; the telephoto camera does not support optical image stabilization.)

The front-facing TrueDepth camera combines a high-resolution color camera with an infrared camera and structured light projector to create a single capture device capable of depth sensing as well as color imaging.

Selecting the front-facing camera with the AVCaptureDeviceTypeBuiltInWideAngleCamera device type results in a capture device representing only the color camera component of the TrueDepth camera. This capture device is functionally equivalent to the front-facing cameras on other iOS devices, offering both photo and video capture.

In iOS 11.1 and later, selecting the front-facing camera with the AVCaptureDeviceTypeBuiltInTrueDepthCamera device type returns a capture device representing the full capabilities of the TrueDepth camera. When you run a capture session using this device, you can use features of the AVCapturePhotoOutput and AVCaptureDepthDataOutput classes to enable capture of depth maps along with or instead of color imagery.

Hey! I have a Canon EOS I'm not sure which one specifically. But, the camera connect app lets me download photos just fine but won't let me download videos to my iphone. When I try to hit download it shows a yellow exclamation mark beside the video, and it says it is not supported. I have more than enough Iphone storage, and I just got this camera so I don't know what to do. Please let me know thanks!

So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know what model Canon camera you are using and which iPhone version?
