Ninja Heroes is an RPG set in the Naruto universe where players can train their own ninjas to face dozens of enemies. Even though you start the game with Naruto, you can recruit more than 100 different characters along the way (some from the series and others not).

In between battles, you can keep yourself busy in the ninja village. Train your ninjas to learn new techniques and improve their attributes, try to get more ninjas to join your group, or change the lineup of your attack team.

Ninja Heroes 2 is a fighting game based on the ridiculously popular anime. It offers a brand new storyline and plenty of portable action. Licensed games are always hit and miss, but a lot of these anime based fighting games turn out to be decent. Does this one manage at least that, or does it drop out of ninja school due to gross incompetence?

As far as Naruto fans go, I\u2019m a bit of a weirdo. I was actually first introduced to the series ten years ago through Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, and I still vividly remember marveling at that entry\u2019s shockingly big roster compared to most fighting games. That spurred me to get caught up with the show, and then I found myself further hooked thanks to the story mode\u2019s faithful recreation of that fictional world. But while I stayed a Naruto fan, my friends and I eventually moved on to games with more depth, like Super Smash Bros. That\u2019s because in order to support a roster that\u2019s aptly described as a literal storm of ninjas, the combat has to stay pretty simple. This makes it approachable and easy to master, but there\u2019s also no pot of gold to chase at the end of this learning curve like there is in better fighting games.

Most of the characters in these games are (unsurprisingly) ninjas, which means they\u2019re highly agile and each have three magic abilities to show off in the heat of battle. Just about anything goes here: Kiba teams up with his trusty pooch Akamaru to rush down and drill his opponents into a pulp, Kisame shoots shark-shaped water bombs from a safe distance, and Raikage Ay slams with thunderous force, creating a massive shockwave. But the drawback of that shared ninja DNA is that, aside from the stray puppet user like Chiyo or Sasori, most characters draw their movesets from the same small pool \u2013 albeit with different coats of paint.\u00a0

Reducing the History Mode down to dialogue sequences with random fights was bad enough in the last Ninja Storm game, but Connections adds insult to injury by passing up the opportunity to retell Boruto\u2019s story in order to spend time on a middling side adventure instead. Part of the Special Story mode is set within \u2018Ninja Heroes,\u2019 a fictional, in-universe video game based on the characters and events of Naruto, and that\u2019s where things really go off the rails. It\u2019s an online multiplayer game where Boruto and all of his friends gather to hang out; think Fortnite if it featured skins based on war heroes instead of Master Chief and Chun-Li, but for this fictional world.\u00a0

Shinya's hero costume adapts the appearance of a traditional ninja. He wears a blue mask that covers his mouth, tied at the back of his head with red yarn. Shinya sports red shinobi shozoku underneath a blue robe. His arms are covered in a thin, dark cloth that tucks into his white forearm sleeves. There are red straps attached to his belt and his robe that extend outward.

Overall Abilities: Shinya was ranked 5th of Japan's Pro Heroes, before taking the spot of No. 4 after All Might's retirement. He fully mastered his Quirk, Foldabody, and very well incorporates his proficient Quirk handling into his ninja-style. Shinya flattens his body to pass through extremely tight spaces, including doors, creating secret passages. He can transform any section of his body at will, and often flattens it into multiple shapes to pierce his opponent's body. Shinya mainly uses his Quirk to strike quickly and incapacitate his opponents. He does this by folding his body into a thin blade piercing his opponent before they can even react. Shinya can almost instantly knock someone unconscious by cutting off the blood flow to their brain. Shinya is also capable of fighting in mid-air by folding his body into a drill-like shape and maneuvering around his target.[4]

A game like Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 has to do two things to be a success. It has to deliver on the Naruto name by providing content that will appeal to fans of the popular anime series, and it has to make fighting as the titular blond ninja and his friends or foes enjoyable. Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 pays out in spades on the first point but fails to deliver on the second. As a result, it ends up feeling like fan-service halfheartedly disguised as a video game.

Ever since Garmadon took over the city, Lloyd and Nya have been on the run. Before they can rescue the other ninja, however, they must first get back to their hideout unharmed. Their track through the crowds of bikers roaming the streets of Ninjago City isn't just observed by Garmadon TV, however. In her tea shop, Mystak not only follows the movements of Lloyd and Nya, but also those of the Ninja in the Realm of Oni and Dragons. She worries that the lost ninja could quickly become hunted as well.

Meanwhile, in the land of dragons, the Ninja explore the desert around the destroyed Bounty and, after a short hike, come across the nest of a lightning dragon. As Jay and Zane nostalgically reminisce about their prior dragons, Cole notices a group of Dragon Hunters in the distance. Our heroes hide at first, but when they find out that the Dragon Hunters plan to steal the dragon eggs and enslave the babies that hatch from them, they decide to help the dragon and drive the hunters away.

Cole steels the Dieselnaut's wheels to build a hammer to fight against the villains. The rest of the group grabs the remaining bolts, excellent projectiles, and throw themselves into the fray as well. Even as the dragon hunters manage to remove the eggs from the nest, the return of the mother stops them from getting any farther and they flee. This gives the Ninja a chance to roll the eggs back into the nest, and despite a slight misunderstanding, the ninja manage to reunite the mother dragon with her children.

Meanwhile, on the way back to their vehicle, the Hunters realize that the Ninja have stolen parts of their vehicle and change their minds about their retreat. In the second confrontation between the Ninja and the Dragon Hunters, the villains are now trying to steal the car parts back. However, the lightning dragon comes to the rescue of the ninja and, with its help, they drive the hunters away once and for all. Before they set off again, they say goodbye to the dragon and reassure her that she doesn't have to worry about her eggs anymore.

Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm CONNECTIONS is the first entry in the series that focuses on both the Naruto Shippuden and Boruto series but in two distinct ways. The game features a new narrative that focuses on Boruto and the new Team 7 fighting off a new threat to the ninja world.
