The full Minecraft: Education Edition is strictly education, so it has similar requirements that, say, an enterprise-only service would have. There's not a how-to on getting Minecraft: Education Edition, because it depends a lot on who you are. If you're an educator, talk to your admin about using the game for your classroom. If you're a student, talk to your educator.

If none of the above requirements describe you, you're probably like me or many other people: an average person with no official educational capacity, but either wants to learn, or has someone else (like a child,) to teach. That's okay, Mojang included a toggle in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition that enables the Education Edition's chemistry features, and they made all the lesson plans and challenges on their website accessible to anyone.

A creative prompt comprises any set of four cards, one from each category (Figure 2). Each combination challenges players to imagine a future that often contrasts basic anticipatory assumptions creatively. For example, check Figure 2. This combination requests players to imagine and describe an item coming from a thirty-year-long future of continuous growth; it resembles a postcard that is somehow related to education and causes some excitement.

Mojang had a simple plan for Minecraft: Education Edition, creating a program that can give students 21st-century skills they will be able to apply in their future workspaces while maintaining a high level of attention and retention of the material. By combining the core gameplay mechanics of Minecraft and various education-based challenges, Mojang successfully integrated education into its massively popular game.

As an educational program, Minecraft: Education Edition is dedicated to helping both students and teachers in schools around the world effectively learn and teach respectively. With the tools available in this edition, teachers can create lesson plans within Minecraft and assign tasks to students while providing detailed explanations through the chalkboard or through customizable NPCs to guide the students through the lesson.

Since its release, Minecraft: Education Edition is actively being used in over 40 countries and has helped millions of students learn and understand topics much faster than conventional teaching methods. During the COVID-19 pandemic, where remote learning became a necessity, Minecraft: Education Edition has proven to be an effective learning method that provides students with the tools necessary to progress in their education from the comfort of their homes.

MinecraftEdu was one of three initiatives owned by TeacherGaming, an independent games studio founded by three teachers on the success of MinecraftEdu. It also develops an educational edition of Kerbal Space Program.

Minecraft: Education Edition will be supported by a new education-focused community at the official Minecraft site, where newcomers to the teaching aid can connect with experienced users for advice on incorporating into their lessons.

"One of the reasons Minecraft fits so well in the classroom is because it's a common, creative playground," Vu Bui, Mojang's chief operating officer, said in a statement. "We've seen that Minecraft transcends the differences in teaching and learning styles and education systems around the world. It's an open space where people can come together and build a lesson around nearly anything."
