Upon contacting a brick, the brick is poisoned, and the Poison ball triggers a splash effect that poisons all bricks in the splash area. The splash effect of the Poison ball has a 1.3 base radius, increased by the Splash Radius card.

Poison Decay slowly whittles down bricks, it guarantees you are never stuck on a level as long as the bricks are poisoned. However it is a fairly expensive upgrade and by that point an effect that only activates every second is very slow.

Enrage is simply a speed multiplier. The effect persists after clearing a stage and if you hit another brick within the 2 seconds, the effect is re-activated. As long as you can always hit another brick within the 2 seconds, Enrage would be a permanent speed boost.

I have an issue with the scenario when ball hits in between two bricks. I have BoxCollider2D attached to all bricks and a CircleCollider2D attached to the ball. When the ball hits between 2 adjacent bricks, it bounces back in the same direction as if it hit the edge of the brick. There is no edge in between, but two adjacent bricks form a continuous surface. So, the ball should bounce off of the surface (in other direction) instead of bouncing back.

As I watched the ball bounce back and forth, I realized that the collision detection was late, like a ball going through a brick. That makes the ball can hit 2 bricks or 2 collider edges at the same time.

I'm working on a brick breaker game in JavaFX (FXGL). The collision detecting is working like this:Bricks and players have a x, y position in the game world (placed in LEFT, TOP).When a collision is detected (this is done by the engine) I use the x, y position to detect where the ball is colliding with the brick to calculate the next direction. The ball direction is created by a velocity vector with (x, y) speed. The collisionLogicSecurityPadding is a small padding which is added since the collision is only detected inside the box. (It's not possible to get the ball and brick exactly at the same x, y coordinates)

I think you could change the detection of TOP, BOTTOM, LEFT, RIGHT collisions to where the collision happened relative to the ball. Assuming the preservation of momentum you just need to negate the X- or Y-velocity.

In the example above the ball clearly generates a collision TOP and LEFT to his center of mass. Therefore it is impossible to generate a RIGHT collision which would generate the behavior you described. This leaves the Problem, that you do not know yet whether it was a collision on the LEFT or TOP. But since the Vector was pointing to the RIGHT (positive X-Movement), it is impossible to generate a collision on the LEFT. The collision must have happened at the TOP and therefore the Y-velocity needs to be multiplied by -1.

As long as the ball is the only moving object this method cannot generate weird behavior. As soon as you have an Object moving faster then the ball, you need additional checks: An Object hitting the ball on its left, while it is already in a general movement towards right will increase the X-velocity.

If the collision occurs at an edge you need to send it in the same x direction as before with reducing the speed it goes in the direction y. y speed should always be less than initial speed and in the same direction as before.

I am currently writing a brickbreaker game in python to teach myself classes and such however I am unable to get the ball to show up. I have the bricks and the paddle, the paddle is moving but not seeing the ball. Any idea why?

Bricks Breaker is the original brick breaker game with multiple balls. This original version does have 30 packs with 100 levels. This gives you a grand total of 3000 brick-breaking levels. The goal is to clear all bricks in the level. Each brick will have a number on top of it. This number is the number of times you have to hit it with your balls. If it says 100 you must hit it a hundred times. Now we hear you think, but a hundred times is very much? You will get a high number of balls in each level. For example level 3 gives you 50 balls to start with but if you hit the multiplier ball this will be multiplied, and if you hit another multiplier this will also be multiplied. So you can shoot hundreds of balls each turn. The trick is to bounce the balls strategically against the bricks and walls. So that you will hit multiple blocks at once. Once you get the hang of this you will fly through the levels.

Bricks Breaker is sort of the original Atari Game Pong only on steroids, crossed with Tetris. There are three ways to play, a Bricks Breaker game that determines your levels of play, an endless, classic game, and a 100 ball challenge.

Essentially, in Bricks Breaker, a stream of balls moves at lightning speed to wherever you have laid bricks. The idea is to rack up as many points as possible by bouncing the balls, Tetris style, for as long as possible. Since there are hundreds of levels, it gets increasingly more difficult to advance from level to level, and most people resort to one of the many Brick Breaker hacks on the internet. Earning enough points lets a player secure rubies and it's also possible to buy rubies if you wish. With Rubies, you can change the size of the streaming balls, which makes the game more fun.

Classic Mode Tips

For every move a player makes they rack up points. The as a consequence, the more moves a player makes, the more points they earn. Most players try to shoot the balls between the gaps in the bricks so they bounce as many times as possible.

100 Ball Challenge

This is basically a one-shot game, and points add up increasingly as bricks are knocked off.

Bricks Breaker Power Tips

An easy way to gain points is to watch an ad after each game. Ad videos will generate as many as 10 rubies per ad watched if a player does not want to buy rubies. Another way to earn rubies is by getting more points, and if a player is at level 7 or 10 for example, an easy way to earn points is to go back to an easier level, as your total score will be comprised of all levels earned. Players need an Android or IOS phone to play, so watch for game requirements, although the game itself is free.

Balls Bricks Breaker is a game of skill where you have to destroy all the bricks you see on the screen. To do this, you'll need good aim, along with excellent management and strategy skills. If you like a good challenge, then look no further. This game comes equipped with incredibly difficult levels that will last as long as you're able to possibly concentrate.

The blocks in Balls Bricks Breaker are marked with a certain number. This number will indicate the number of times you need to hit the block for it to disappear and in order to move on and avoid future problems. Your mission is to complete the game's levels before the blocks get a chance to touch the bottom of the screen.

To throw the balls at a specific point, you'll have to slide your finger from one side to another and aim to get the ball to bounce as many times as possible between multiple bricks and the walls. You can use the line that appears when you touch the screen to see the trajectory the ball will follow. This way, you can make sure you send the ball flying to the exact point where you need it to go. In each level, you'll have a limited number of balls, which will be lost after hitting the blocks. So for each number you're capable of reducing, you'll lose one ball.

Once you've lost all your balls, the blocks on the screen will move down once position. So you'll have to try to get rid of the lowest hanging bricks to avoid complete and utter failure. On the other hand, the last bounce will indicate where you start out the next turn, which will make your movements even harder. Try to get as high as possible by getting rid of all the bricks you can, and become the king of Balls Bricks Breaker.
