We are driving cross country and have 2 more days to go on the road. Was totally inspired by the Weezer Blue Album discussion today. What are the best albums we should be listening to front to back, top to bottom, start to finish, no shuffle play?

9 - Dire Straights - Brothers in Arms - Classic. We needed something we were sort of familiar with but hadn't paid much attention to. Everybody knows 'Money for Nothing' and 'Walk of Life'. But this felt like 2 different albums listening to it all the way through. Not my favorite, but still very good and good driving music.

I hate listening to music nowadays because most albums only have 2-4 songs I like. There's little full album storytelling or cohesion. I'd love to talk about your favorite music & albums that good from start-finish NO SKIPS! The only one I've loved in recent years is Lady Gaga's Chromatica - it's like one solid length of music! What are you favorites?

Usually I listen to albums while doing other stuff like read. I don't listen to an album repeatedly (just once or twice then I move on to another one), so I just half understand most albums I listen to. Only the ones that catch my attention will I go full "listen for weeks" mode but that only happened thrice with To Pimp a Butterfly, OK Computer and Blonde

I had this discussion with another friend of mind who told me that he would usually listen to an album for 2 weeks (even the ones he didn't like) to entirely understand the album. This really shocked me because very few albums have been able to hold my attention for that long.

How do you feel about skits on albums? I think it's interesting that hip-hop is the only genre in which this is common. I guess I don't mind it too much if the skit is its own track, a-la The College Dropout, so it's easily skippable, but if I'm going to skip it most of the time, then what's the point? Overall I think they just ruin the replayability of an album. Thoughts?

With the new welcome addition of Chlo, I was wondering how you guys would rank the 5 studio Father John Misty albums now, since there honestly is no bad album from him imo. So ig you could rank the albums from best to bestest(?)

I've been feeling really down lately for a myriad of reasons. I'm looking for some music I could relate to because whenever I slip into these states in the past music has really helped me out. I used to listen to a lot of Andrew Jackson Jihad and Jeff Rosenstock back in those times to give you a feel for what I like. Just looking for suggestions, they don't have to be similar to those albums though. Thanks!

EDIT: Thanks so far everybody, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Many of these albums I've heard before (many are on my Must Hear list too!), but those that I have not I am very excited for. Already worked my way through a few on Grooveshark, and I look forward to listening to the rest!

Just wanna know how collectors over here feel bc some ent companies in the industry might follow suite. But for japanese kpop releases the japanese copyright laws might not allow digital albums and japan still have a strong physical album culture

With a sudden awareness, the picture rapidly became clearer. It is worth taking a step back and point out that the narrative of the albums is not entirely chronologically accurate. It is designed in such a way that the whole story can be fully understood only when all three albums can be juxtaposed together. Thus, this is what explains the seeming disorder. Now, let us cut to the chase.

I have been listening snoop dogg for years but lately I have listened it much more and going through his albums. All in all, I would like to know how you guys rank his discography and reasons behind your ranking :)

Sorry if I'm missing the obvious here. But it seems I can no longer find an option to move photos between albums on Facebook. When I click the Edit button on a photo, the "Move to another album" option is nowhere to be found. There was only one exception, which was a photo that I never published. All other photos, hundreds of them, appear to be missing the option. I know Facebook used to have this feature. So have they downgraded?

The Cure is a very heterogeneous band, it's wrong to classify them as an only genre. That's why they always resisted the "goth" label (especially because media crowned RS as a "Goth King" on a regular basis). Still, there were times when they did post-punk, goth rock, psychedelic rock, pop rock... mostly fusions of the mentioned above. Still, I'm interested if you consider some of the The Cure's albums as "goth".

One such issue: duplicate songs and albums. Artists can re-release songs identically, whether that's through single-to-album progression or album re-issues or re-uploads. Identical songs are intrinsically linked on Spotify in their listen count.

I have been relying on an external service, -dedup.com/, to remove duplicate songs from my playlist. It's astonishing how many duplicates get added to my playlists on a regular basis. And this tool doesn't even account for whole albums.

All of this could be easily fixed, as Spotify already knows which two songs and albums are identical through the listen count. A pop-up should prevent the user from accidentally saving both duplicates. And of course, it should work like the regular pop-up - The user can save both if they want to ("add anyway").

So, i'm looking for some real slow and moody albums for late-night listening and i've already checked out the discographies of quite a few of the obvious suggestions already (Bill Evans, Miles, Ellington, Paul Desmond, Chet Baker, etc) so feel free to post anything that you think fits, no matter how obscure.

I'm convinced the perfect length for an album is 40 to 50 minutes. Anything longer than that is bound to have filler tracks. A decent example here, for me, is Metallica's Load/Reload era - both of those albums were 80 minutes long and I think people would think more favorably of them if they were pared back to the essentials instead of stuffing the CD to the brim just because they could.

I got into the Smiths through their fantastic album the Queen Is Dead. It was amazing and so I got into the Smiths as a band. I had read everywhere that the Queen is Dead was their finest work, and as I had only also heard Strangeway Here We Come I assumed everyone was right. And then I tried the Smiths. As Reel Around The Fountain glistened into life and one of the most beautiful lyrics every written was sung, I knew what my new favourite Smiths song was. And from then on I just liked the album more and more. I ended up listening to this album almost solely for around 3 months and honestly there are very few albums I prefer now. Especially in the Smiths catalogue. And that is no insult to the Smiths albums which are untouchable and indisputably masterpieces. But I cannot fathom preferring any of their other albums. But I always see people saying the Queen Is Dead is their best and so I wondered what they were thinking. What do you think of the Smiths albums? Does anyone else prefer this by a landslide? If no, why? Of course this comes to personal opinion, but I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I was able to successfully transfer my photos to the new account using Partner Sharing, I believe. As a test, I deleted a photo from the old account, and it still appeared on the new account. This solution is commonly described on other forums and reddit posts.

How do I transfer albums, or do I need to re-assemble them? I have multiple shared photo albums that consisted of photos from my old account and my partner's old account (she also needs to transition to a new account). If I 'share' the album with my new account, and the new account contains the same photos as the old account, will the album still exist when my old account is deleted? I seem to think no, but I hope I am wrong..

This is an unpopular take, but I don't think the first album was that good. It had some nice tunes, don't get me wrong, but I didn't find it as enjoyable as the other albums. Unfortunately, I can't explain why. It might have been just the fact that I didn't warm up to Gorillaz's style yet, as this was the first album I listened to. So, I'll definietly give this another listen. Favorite song: Clint Eastwood obviously

I've always been a fan of BMTH, but the sound change on Sempiternal honestly blew my mind, it's one of my top 5 albums of all time. I'm looking for more albums/artist that use gang vocals, chants, catchy hooks and a mix of cleans and screams, maybe like a harder version of ADTR?

Why are people still buying albums? In my childhood, we bought them for the physical CD because streaming wasn't a thing. But with every song practically free to listen to online, why are album sales stil a thing?

Finally got some cash to spare, and I definitely wanna spend it on physical albums. The only thing is i have a lot of albums from my ult groups and not many from groups I don't ult, which is what I'm looking for recently just to branch out my collection, as I pretty much listen to every k-pop group I discover.

Photocards and posters are also super exciting to me, so that's why i'm asking for those specifically. What are some good albums with good inclusions (i.e. pcs, posters, or other fun stuff) that are worth your money instead of spending $30 just to get nothing fun out of unboxing the album? 006ab0faaa
