I just got a new Kindle Fire 10 (2021 edition). I seem to be unable to set wallpapers on it the normal way. When I go to settings, Display, and then Wallpaper, the screen exits out to the main settings page. It doesn't bring up a wallpaper selection at all. Any thoughts on this?

I've tried rebooting the device and clearing cache but that hasn't done anything. I can however set the wallpaper through other apps. For example, I downloaded the Resplash app from the Google Play Store and I was able to download and set wallpapers using that app.

If you don't have one at the moment, here's a beautiful picture of a purple iris you can use. (I took this pic myself so I own the copyright and give you rights to use it for personal use.) Or, if you'd like to skip this step and use some photos that have already been resized, see my free Kindle Fire flower wallpapers that are ready to go.

While testing out this tutorial with my husband, we discovered that his newer Kindle Fire shows the wallpaper images different than mine (see the images below as well as my page about Kindle Fire Backgrounds for all the details).

All images need to be 1024x1024 (width x height) pixels to work properly with the side loaded Rotating Wallpaper app or they get stretched weird. The main issue is that the wallpaper doesn't display the entire picture on your Kindle Fire. Newer Kindles show 602x1024 pixels while older ones only show 515x880 pixels.

If you want to get daring, go ahead and use the crop tool to select thearea you want to keep, but make sure the image is at least 602x1024 pixels (515x880 pixels for older tablets) oryou will have white space on your final Kindle Fire wallpaper.

I like to add a photo's dimensions to my file names so for this one I will add 1024x1024 to the name, "wedding-p-1024x1024" (the p stands for portrait). But you don't have to, whatever you name your image is fine, just remember it so you can find it again later when you add the wallpaper to your Kindle Fire.

Once you're done resizing and cropping your beautiful pictures, it's time to create a custom wallpaper on your Kindle Fire! (Newer tablet and HD owners, please see my Kindle Fire Android Wallpaper tutorial instead.)

I bet you could follow this tutorial to resize your wallpaper right from your Kindle Fire! I haven't tried it yet but will let you know when I test it out. This would be perfect for images you already have on your tablet (viewable in your gallery) as you wouldn't have to transfer them to/from your computer. Sweet!

Wallpaper with multiple functions, such as fire resistance and an automatic alarm in fire disasters, will be attractive for the interior decoration of houses. Herein, we report a smart fire alarm wallpaper prepared using fire-resistant inorganic paper based on ultralong hydroxyapatite nanowires (HNs) and graphene oxide (GO) thermosensitive sensors. At room temperature, the GO thermosensitive sensor is in a state of electrical insulation; however, it becomes electrically conductive at high temperatures. In a fire disaster, high temperature will rapidly remove the oxygen-containing groups of GO, leading to the transformation process of GO from an electrically insulated state into an electrically conductive one. In this way, the alarm lamp and alarm buzzer connected with the GO thermosensitive sensor will send out the alerts to people immediately for taking emergency actions. After the surface modification with polydopamine of GO (PGO), the sensitivity and flame retardancy of the GO thermosensitive sensor are further improved, resulting in a low responsive temperature (126.9 C), fast response (2 s), and sustained working time in the flame (at least 5 min). Compared with combustible commercial wallpaper, the smart fire alarm wallpaper based on HNs and GO (or PGO) is superior owing to excellent nonflammability and high-temperature resistance of HNs, which can protect the GO (or PGO) thermosensitive sensor from the flames. The smart fire alarm wallpaper can be processed into various shapes, dyed with different colors, and printed with the commercial printer and thus has promising applications in high-safety interior decoration of houses.

Our fire rated wallpaper paste is suitable for internal application to properties and buildings. A low viscosity polymer adhesive formulated for hanging luxury wall coverings. This product will effectively prevent the wallpaper from burning, whilst also protecting against the spread of flame. Upgrading lath-and-plaster to 60 minutes of fire protection. Moreover, solvent-free formulation with a polymer base for extra strength. The low odour, user-friendly and ready to use formulation also resists mould growth. Furthermore, for application, surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of dust and mould.

The researchers, led by Professor Ying-Jie Zhu at the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, have published a paper on the fire alarm wallpaper in a recent issue of ACS Nano.

Most of today's commercial wallpaper is made of highly flammable materials, such as plant cellulose fibers or synthetic polymers. Consequently, whenever a fire occurs, the wallpaper often causes the fire to spread.

"Compared with flammable commercial wallpaper, the fire-resistant wallpaper is superior owing to its excellent nonflammability, high-temperature resistance, and automatic fire alarm function," Zhu told Phys.org. "The fire-resistant wallpaper has a white color, mechanical robustness, and high flexibility, it can be processed into various shapes, dyed with different colors, and printed with a commercial printer. Therefore, the fire alarm fire-resistant wallpaper has promising applications in high-safety interior decoration to save human lives and reduce the loss of property in a fire disaster."

The new wallpaper is based on hydroxyapatite, which is the primary inorganic component of bone and teeth. Although hydroxyapatite is typically brittle and inflexible, in previous work the researchers found that forming ultralong nanowires made of hydroxyapatite gives the material a high flexibility suitable for making wallpaper.

In order to make the nonflammable wallpaper a "smart material" capable of automatically sounding an alarm in response to a fire, the researchers incorporated an ink-based thermosensitive sensor onto the wallpaper.

The thermosensitive sensor is fabricated on the surface of the wallpaper by a simple drop-casting process using an ink containing graphene oxide. The tiny sensor is placed on the backside of the fire- resistant wallpaper so that it is out of sight and protected by the fireproof wallpaper.

The sensor is composed primarily of graphene oxide, which is electrically insulating at room temperature. However, when exposed to heat, the oxygen-containing groups are removed, making the material highly conductive. The sensor is connected to an alarm, so when a fire occurs and the sensor begins to conduct electricity, it causes the alarm to go off.

"The mass production of ultralong hydroxyapatite nanowires as the raw material for the smart fire alarm fire-resistant wallpaper is critical," Zhu said. "To date, we have realized the scaled-up production of ultralong hydroxyapatite nanowires in an autoclave with a volume of 100 liters in our laboratory. We are striving to explore the low-cost and environmentally friendly large-scale production technology for ultralong hydroxyapatite nanowires. In addition, many companies are interested in the new kind of the fire-resistant paper, and we will collaborate with some companies to realize industrial-scale production in the future.

"We have also been exploring various applications of the new kind of fire-resistant paper based on ultralong hydroxyapatite nanowires in many other fields, such as preserving important paper documents, energy, air purification, water treatment, environment protection, anti-counterfeiting, flexible electronics, and biomedical uses."

Fire wallpaper is a type of decorative wall covering that imitates the appearance of a flickering fire. It typically consists of wallpaper with a printed or painted design that depicts flames, embers, or fire patterns. This type of wallpaper is often used to create a cozy and atmospheric ambiance in residential and commercial spaces, particularly in areas like fireplaces, bedrooms, lounges, restaurants, and bars.

The current outlook of the fire wallpaper market is quite promising. With the increasing popularity of fireplaces and fire-related themes in interior design, the demand for fire wallpaper has been steadily growing. The market is driven by the aesthetic appeal of fire wallpaper, which adds warmth and visual interest to various spaces. Additionally, the affordability and ease of application of fire wallpaper compared to traditional fireplaces make it an attractive alternative for many consumers. ff782bc1db
