At ADKF, we pride ourselves on the relationship we develop with our clients as their trusted advisors and are proud to grow with them. Because of how important our clients are, we want to share their stories. We interviewed Ricardo Franco, co-owner and co-founder of Fantasy Lab.

Fantasy Lab is a relatively new client of ADKF. They came to us amid the development of their newest location in Las Vegas, Nevada. Founded in 2019 by father and son Ricardo L. Franco and Ricardo (or Ricky) Franco, Fantasy Lab already had their original location in Mexico City, which opened in February 2020, shortly before the global lockdown because of Covid. They were able to reopen in August 2020 and have had remarkable success. This prompted them to consider expanding, and Las Vegas was their chosen location. Along with their new partners, Fernando del Valle and his son, Fernando del Valle Jr., they worked to bring their idea and technology to the United States. This father-and-son team hopes to expand even further in the coming years.

Fantasy Lab is an immersive and beautiful experience. It uses technology "to bring people together," says Ricky, and helps bring your dreams to life. Guides, called "Dreamers," lead the guests through otherworldly rooms, each with their own story to tell.

Vicente Cue, their general manager, told us that "ADKF has helped our two companies to start a clean and well-organized operation. This firm has a great team offering services at different levels and functions. From everyday bookkeeping and reporting to integration of all our platforms (bookkeeping, guest ticketing, POS, inventory management, etc.). The firm has 'specialists' in all finance and accounting areas. All exchanges of confidential information were managed through a very safe platform that allowed our executive team to sleep well. This firm offers all needed for a startup or a larger, mature corporation. We are very pleased that we are growing, thanks to ADKF's team contribution."

According to Ricky, opening a business in Las Vegas has its own quirks. Especially when the business is on the strip, which has its own rules and bureaucracy. He feels like getting through all these difficulties will almost make it easier to open in any other city. They made the decision to build in Las Vegas in early 2022. Things moved quickly, and they managed to have their grand opening in November 2022. He feels like they could have used a couple of weeks, but they made it work.

One of the biggest challenges for Fantasy Lab is to stay relevant and competitive in a busy market sector. A business-like Fantasy Lab must get people out of their house to experience their exhibits. According to Ricky, it can be challenging to do so with countless types of entertainment platforms at their fingertips. With brick-and-mortar stores closing more frequently, Fantasy Lab must adapt to keep customers engaged and draw in new visitors.

Fantasy Lab is only one of the Franco family businesses, they started out with a billboard company. To publicize their company, they began using electronic billboards and signs, which led to them doing pop-up events to showcase what their billboards could do. This led to the development of Fantasy Lab and how it came to be.

Amit Patel, the former Jacksonville Jaguars employee accused of defrauding the franchise of $22.2 million, was a high-volume, high-stakes daily fantasy sports player known for racking up big losses, according to online records of his account and multiple sources familiar with his play.

Federal authorities allege Patel, 31, manipulated the Jaguars' virtual credit card program (VCC) and used the proceeds to fund a luxury lifestyle between 2019 and February 2023, when the Jaguars terminated him. During that time, Patel was also playing daily fantasy sports (DFS) under the username "ParlayPicker" on FanDuel and DraftKings, multiple sources with direct knowledge of his account told ESPN.

Rotogrinders, a popular daily fantasy sports and betting site that tracks individual players' results, shows ParlayPicker put nearly $500,000 into fantasy tournaments on the NFL, Major League Baseball, PGA Tour and UFC since 2017. He often entered dozens of lineups into fantasy tournaments with large prize pools, the online records show. But DFS players familiar with the ParlayPicker account believe his biggest losses came from the high-stakes three-man contests they say he regularly entered. The contests were against elite competition and had buy-ins upward of $24,000. Rotogrinders does not track such contests, and the results and buy-in figures would not be included in its online records.

King said in the statement that "approximately 99% of the funds misappropriated from the Jaguars' VCC were gambling losses, almost all of which occurred" on FanDuel and DraftKings. King told The Athletic that Patel "bet on football" and daily fantasy sports. Details of Patel's betting outside of his daily fantasy play are unknown.

Drew Crawford, an avid DFS player, noticed the emergence of ParlayPicker in recent years. ParlayPicker's first play recorded on Rotogrinders was in 2017, and the records show his total stakes risked on fantasy tournaments peaked in 2021 and 2022.

"He came out of nowhere," Crawford told ESPN. "Usually in our circle of DFS guys, we kind of know the identities of the guys who were playing at extreme volume. They've been around for a while. But with this guy, I remember having side conversations with some of my friends, who were like, 'Who is this guy? And what is he doing?'"

As ParlayPicker's play escalated and word of his missteps spread in the DFS community, players made a point of seeking out contests against him, according to multiple daily fantasy sources. One veteran DFS player, who communicated with ESPN on condition of anonymity, said they believe ParlayPicker is "the biggest loser ever on FanDuel."

Patel is scheduled to appear in federal court Thursday in Jacksonville, where he's expected to plead guilty to charges of wire fraud and illegal monetary transaction. In his statement last week, King said that Patel is "deeply remorseful" and is in treatment for his gambling addiction.

The last tournament ParlayPicker entered that was tracked by Rotogrinders was DraftKings' world golf championship on July 6 -- five months after the Jaguars fired him. The buy-in was $29,000. ParlayPicker finished tied for 129th out of 150 finalists.

With 82 receptions and 1,113 yards, both good for No. 1 amongst rookies, Nacua has taken the league by storm. The fact he was undrafted in most leagues makes him even more valuable than many players taken far ahead of him.

Prescott currently ranks No. 5 in pass yards with 3,892 and No. 1 in TD passes with 30. Much of this has gone to star receiver CeeDee Lamb, while TE Jake Ferguson has also made a significant impact after the free agency departure of Dalton Schultz to Houston in the offseason.

Despite missing Weeks 7-11 with an ankle injury, Williams still ranks Top 5 among RBs in total fantasy points and is second to only CMC in fantasy PPG. He has made such a strong statement this season that some are actually heralding Williams as a Top 5 pick for 2024 drafts.

Holy cliff, Batman. After coming into the league hot as a rookie, Harris has fallen by the wayside over the past two seasons. This has become abundantly clear this season as Harris has split time with Jaylen Warren in the backfield and has lost the stranglehold Pittsburgh usually gives to its lead running back.

If Henry had gone in the first round like he has in past seasons, this would be an easy category win for Henry. Lucky for him, he fell into the second round in 2023 and this is his redeeming quality. With 972 rushing yards and 11 TDs on 249 carries, Henry has not destroyed your team. But with his limited work in the pass game, Henry is averaging less than 20 touches a game for the first time since 2018.

Tennessee was never going to be a good team in 2023, but injuries to QB Ryan Tannehill and others have led to an even worse season than expected and this has led to a down year for Henry. Hopefully next season, wherever he ends up, Henry will be able enter his 30s in a blaze of glory.

From Garrett Wilson being an ADP of 18 as WR9, to Breece Hall going in the fourth round as RB17, the entire Jets offense went straight down after the injury to Aaron Rodgers in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills.

Along with the terrible season of the New England Patriots has been the disappointment of a preseason fantasy darling in Stevenson. Luckily, I did not fall into this trap, but I know many who did, which is why Stevenson went so high in fantasy drafts.

Through 12 games, Stevenson has 619 yards and 4 TDs on 156 carries for the last place Patriots. Ezekiel Elliott, thought to be at the end of his career when released by Dallas, has nearly as many yards (549) on one more carry (157) as Stevenson. This was not supposed to be a split back situation. But as soon as it became one, the ability for Stevenson to live up to his lofty draft price was limited. And any chance to change his narrative with a late-season surge in production in Weeks 9-12 went by the wayside when he suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 13 and was shut down for the remainder of 2023.

While Ekeler is still the leading man in the Chargers backfield, it is no longer a set-in-stone designation. In a lost season for the Chargers, including the firing of head coach Brandon Staley and the loss of QB Justin Herbert for the final month of the season with a fractured finger, Ekeler ranks just 19th at RB in fantasy PPG and is 24th in total fantasy points at RB. This has, no doubt, been a tough pill to swallow for those managers who made him the next RB off the draft board after CMC this past summer. 152ee80cbc
