I know this might sound weird, but I will just go ahead asking it. Is there any app which will record videos in lower resolution, like at 360p or 480p on my 6s? I love that vintage colors and slight blur on the videos... Yes there are some apps which will have vintage filters to apply on higher resolution videos (like 8mm) but the sharpness does still exist...

Youtube has been limiting my quality to either 360p or 720p for all videos since recently (2 days or so). I'm on firefox windows 11 with a bunch of extensions (incl. uBlock and enhancer for youtube), but disabling all extensions doesn't fix the problem.

Basically, is there software that can increase the resolution of a video? I'm asking because I've been wondering exactly how people can (I JUST forgot the word for it) remodel/enhance/(insert correct word) old films from wars and stuff.

Old movies were recorded on film, which since they still have the negatives of the films they can extract them now at a higher resolution. That's why digital movies around the 90's and early 2000's don't have remasteres because they weren't recorded on film and instead are digital.

A 360p video consists of images that are compressed to be small enough so that many hundreds of thousands of images can be strung together, whilst maintaining a small enough file size. The images are compressed, as a result, and therefore have imperfections such as artifacting. It also doesn't help that if an image is at 360p, upscaling to 1080p is not going to look pleasant.

Hi there guys, it seems you are missing the point somewhat, fact is that both my iPad and S9 DO HAVE the ability to play all 1080 videos at a resolution of at least 720, but as soon as I upload a 4k video the option for 720p is not there, it stops at 360p. That would be logical if it was not there on a PC either but thats not the case, the PC has all resolutions from 240 up to 4k with all steps inbetween.

BTW, maybe some of you would find it interesting that I filmed the front side with a GH5 and the stage footage with a Samsung galaxy S9, that phone is amazing, I filmed another clip with it that looks more impressive because I could run around on stage during reheasals, it's amazing combined with a DJI OSMO mobile you can do anything with it and make shots that you could normally never do with a larger camera on a Ronin-M for example.
