Revolver is a 2005 action thriller film[6] co-written and directed by Guy Ritchie, and starring Jason Statham, Ray Liotta, Vincent Pastore and Andr Benjamin. The film centres on a revenge-seeking confidence trickster whose weapon is a universal formula that guarantees victory to its user, when applied to any game or confidence trick.

This is the fourth feature film by Ritchie and his third to centre on crime and professional criminals, but also has a strong philosophy and Buddhist moral content. It was released in UK theatres on 22 September 2005. It performed poorly at the box office and received negative reviews. A reworked version[7] was released to a limited number of US theatres on 7 December 2007.[8]

In the theatrical release of the film, Jake finds out about the niece's kidnapping and decides to return the crime bosses money to save her. When he arrives, Macha points a gun on Jake's niece, but Jake shows no fear. A humiliated Macha remarks that Jake can't kill him if he is already dead. Then he puts the gun to his head and pulls the trigger as the screen cuts to black.

According to director Guy Ritchie, the music for the film was initially intended to follow in a similar vein to his previous crime movies, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, in that it was to be primarily source-based (i.e. using non-original music). Those source tracks would all have been classical in nature. However, during the production process, Ritchie changed his mind and decided to score a majority of the film with original music, leaving only some small sections to non-original music tracks (such as the restaurant shoot-out during Lord John's attempted assassination of Dorothy Maccha). Ritchie selected Nathaniel Mechaly to compose the score.[14]

The film was generally panned by critics, who viewed it as pretentious with an over-complicated plot. On Rotten Tomatoes it has an approval rating of 15% based on reviews from 67 critics, with an average score of 3.50/10. The consensus reads, "In attempting to meld his successful previous formulas with philosophical musings, Guy Ritchie has produced an incoherent misfire."[16] Reviews were so poor in the UK that a positive quote placed prominently on the film's poster, saying that the director was "back to his best" and attributed to the newspaper The Sun, in fact came from a promotional section of the Sun's website created and paid for by a PR agency on behalf of the film's distributors.[17]

There are some positive reviews as well. Mark R. Leeper conceded that it was "a film for a narrow audience", but said that he personally rather "liked it" and gave it a score of 7/10.[18] According to Brian Orndorf, Revolver "is the perfect movie for those who like to crack things open and dig around the innards", saying that it "reminded [him] quite a bit of Richard Kelly's film, Donnie Darko". He goes on to explain that "both films have a taste for the deliberately confusing, sharing scripts that take the viewer on a ride that requires much more than one simple viewing."[19]

Jurassic World is a 2015 sci-fi adventure film directed by Colin Trevorrow and the fourth entry in the Jurassic Park film franchise. Set fourteen years after the events of Jurassic Park III, the film follows events surrounding the famed theme park and resort spinoff "Jurassic World", which has been in operation for a steady ten years without incident. InGen, now owned by corporate conglomerate Masrani Global, creates a new attraction: a hybrid dinosaur known as the Indominus rex. Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) is seen carrying a stainless steel Marlin Model 1895SBL lever-action rifle with a gray laminated wood stock as his personal rifle of choice in the film. The rifle is fitted with a Leopold Optics FX-II Scout IER 2.5x28mm scope with a silver finish and a Butler Creek Ultra Padded Nylon Rifle Cartridge. The Butler Creek sling's shell holders are correctly seen filled with big .45-70 Government soft-point rounds. Interestingly, for a short time after the film's release, Marlin's website identified the 1895SBL as being ideal for hunting a bear, deer, hog, moose, or T. rex. It has since been removed.

In an instructional video, Jimmy Fallon as himself is shown using a Smith & Wesson Model 29 revolver to demonstrate the impregnable glass of the park's gyrospheres. He is heard mentioning in the video that the glass can stop a "fifty caliber bullet", despite the fact that the revolver he is using is actually a .44-caliber.

Barry Sembne (Omar Sy) carries a 4" Smith & Wesson Model 500 revolver as his sidearm. He is notably seen pulling it right before an encounter with Blue, the Velociraptor. The revolver is noted as such by its big bore and enormous cylinder. At times, the revolver appears to be loaded with JHP rounds.

A pintle-mounted GE M134 Minigun is used by an ACU gunner (Kevin Foster) to open fire on the Indominus rex. Owen specifically states the weapon as an "M134" in the film. The audio however is a Browning M2 firing. Incidentally, the CGI storyboards shown in behind-the-scenes footage depict the helicopter being armed with a Browning M2.

Owen Grady, Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), and Jurassic World rangers are seen wielding custom tranquilizer rifles to fire at the escaped pterosaurs. These rifles are loaded with box magazines and are semi-automatic. Jurassic World Property Master Guillaume Delouche stated in the Jurassic Props featurette that these rifles were made specifically for the film as there is no such thing as a semi-automatic multi-dart tranquilizer. He also stated that the rifle's automatic bolt action was powered by a nitrogen canister mounted in the stock.
