I can set a custom tone for messenger as a whole and that plays just fine for everyone- but when setting the tone spdcifically for one person, messenger seems to ignore it entirely and only uses the main messenger custom tone I previously set.

Here's a link to a detailed guide with screenshots of the required settings:

Would you be able to check each of those settings and send over a screenshot so I can also have a look?

In addition, please check if the Business Integrations for Zapier in the linked Facebook account has all the checkboxes enabled. I see past reports of users experiencing this same error message when one of these permissions was missing. Here is a screenshot to illustrate this:

I am looking for desktop application for Facebook messenger. I know Pidgin can work with Facebook chat, but it cannot work with any messenger with a person who is offline. Is there a program which can do this?

I get this dialog once I open on Android Browser. So, on this dialog, when I click the image that says Use Messenger App it searches for the installed Facebook messenger app and opens it, else it redirects to the Facebook Messenger's Google Play Store page.

I have had success in the past creating an App Definition for LinkedIn Messenger to allow access to LinkedIn while blocking the messenger functionality through Domain:www.linkedin.com and Path: /messaging/,/voyager/api/messaging/.

@PaulJHerrmann you can add the following domains to a custom URL list, then a custom category. Finally, block the newly created category with a Realtime Protection policy and Facebook will operate just fine, while messenger won't:

I am the assistant to our owner trying to connect our facebook messenger to our hubspot so we can get the messages in our conversation box but it's not working. I've checked and the boss says we're not already connected as far as he knows.

UPDATE: So I found the article again for trouble shooting, but I still need to know if I can connect to my account or if it must first be connected through my boss'. I don't want to accidentally lock him out of his facebook again as I try to figure this out.

I have to be an admin on HubSpot or on Facebook? As I said, my boss has given me access to his Facebook and he is an admin there so by proxy I have admin access. But I'm just clarifying whether we have to connect the facebook where he's an admin with his account on HubSpot or can it be anyone on the team's HubSpot account with access to his facebook? This was not clear in the instructions you provided that I read through before.

Messenger is likely verifying certificates and doesn't like the cert it's receiving -- if there's any logs for messenger, I'd suggest looking there as they'll have more information about what it thinks the problem is.

I've been using Facebook messenger for several months, and never had this issue, but have almost blown through my limited texting allowance this month, and think it's because Facebook Messenger messages are being counted in the text quota. I almost never send/receive picture/video texts, and this month shows a bunch - I'm thinking the icons in Facebook Messenger are being counted that way. Any ideas or confirmation?

If your messages come into the green message icon then they are texts. If you have FB messenger or receive your messages from the FB app then they are not texts. If you have registered your mobile number with FB you may be receiving text notifications about almost anything that applies to your FB count or things you are tagged in or have commented on. This you must go to FB on your computer to disable.

To use the passthrough API, you first craft a valid Sunshine Conversations message of any type, then you specify an additional override parameter for the channels you would like to use passthrough. Under the channel name (in this case messenger), the payload field contains the exact structure of a valid Facebook Messenger API call to the Send Messages endpoint.

I am completely at a lose with this problem. I followed a couple of tutorials (only to cross-check the steps) on how to install the Facebook messenger plugin widget and for some reason it appears when I go into my website but when other people visit my page, they do not see the widget. I have whitelisted all variations of my website on Facebook: , , . Like I said, I am the website owner and Facebook page owner and I can see the widget but my website guests can not see it. What can I change so that way all of my guests can see and use the widget?

Thanks for responding! I followed this tutorial: -add-facebook-messenger-live-chat/ , I also followed yours (which is super great by the way). The problem still persists. The messenger icon pops up JUST for ME. None of my website visitors can see the messenger widget. Any ideas?

To achieve this level of granular control you want you will struggle on the Meraki for the reasons previously outlined. You would need a firewall that supports HTTPS inspection, which basically decrypts the traffic to be able to differentiate between facebook messenger and regular Facebook.

i can block facebook and allow messenger by adding in the url of facebook and just blocking it from web filter. messenger.com will still be accessible. only problem is that the messenger app for smartphones are also blocked.

i already tried to not block using the web filter and use the application filter to specifically block and allow. still, messenger is blocked even when allowed through the application filter. Specifically i allowed facebook messenger, chat, and other related to chatting. and just blocked the facebook site from the application filter. still same results.

I would like to block facebook messenger and whatsApp on my Dlink router DSL-2730U. I googled the same and tried some of the methods but not a single one worked. It's really important as I want to keep my children at bay from online stalkers.

It was very awesome to know about Sephora facebook messenger ad campaigns. Messenger ads are best suited for that business which wants to interact and discuss with their prospects before they close the deal. I think messenger ads are very effective when our goal is to get engagements and interaction from the audience side. I would love to use messenger ads while promoting my blog guides. ff782bc1db
