Copy the msedge.adml file to the matching language folder in the PolicyDefinition folder. Create the folder if it doesn't already exist. (Example: %systemroot%\sysvol\domain\policies\PolicyDefinitions\EN-US)

On a target client device, open Microsoft Edge and go to edge://policy to see all policies that are applied. If you applied policy settings on the local computer, policies should appear immediately. You might need to close and reopen Microsoft Edge if it was open while you were configuring policy settings.

There are three ADMX files under the windows\admx path: msedge.admx, msedgeupdate.admx, and msedgewebview.admx. Only the first of these is used for the actual management of Microsoft Edge. The second one controls the auto updater, which you should completely disable via GPO if you want to get updates via WSUS.

After you extract the Edge templates, go to MicrosoftEdgePolicyTemplates\windows\admx. Copy msedgeupdate.admx and msedge.admx files to %systemroot%\PolicyDefinitions.

Microsoft Edge Administrative Templates files are divided into .admx files and language-specific .adml files. To configure Microsoft Edge with group policy objects, install administrative templates that add rules and settings for Microsoft Edge to the group policy Central Store in your Active Directory domain.

After you extract the templates, open MicrosoftEdgePolicyTemplates\windows\admx. Copy msedgeupdate.admx and msedge.admx files to %systemroot%\PolicyDefinitions.

To take advantage of the benefits of .admx files, you must create a Central Store in the sysvol folder on a Windows domain controller. The Central Store is a file location checked by the Group Policy tools by default.

Internet Explorer isn't going away as long as you keep your Windows version up to date. -us/lifecycle/faq/internet-explorer-microsoft-edge

Edge Chromium has IE mode - you can set websites that don't work well in chrome (our ERP system and some other internal applications dont work well) so we use this. I've removed Chrome and old edge from all machines and now we are only using Edge Chromium. This is working out amazing.

I have been tasked with configuring/deploying our MS-Edge GPO for thousands of devices and that will include the citrix storefront. I am running into two issue I cant seem to find answers for. Keep in mind we are talking about the new chromium based Edge v86. I have the most current admx files and such.

In any case, if you go to Microsoft Opens a new window then click "Download Windows '32/64/arm64'-bit policy" you should get a new ADM/ADMX file and it will likely have it in there. I've not checked but I suspect it is in there. The policy download is edge for business so I'm not sure if it would apply.

On your domain controller, go to the directory where you copied the Microsoft Edge templates files. Copy the msedge.admx file located within the \windows\admx directory to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions.

On the domain controller, go to the directory where you copied the Microsoft Edge templates files. Copy the msedge.adml file located within the \windows\admx\en-US directory to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\en-US.

If you are on a device managed by your organization you will NOT see the option to Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer under edge://settings/defaultbrowser to allow Internet Explorer mode through the More tools menu.

Hello I post here cause i know adminsitrator will be happy to know it too! im looking for prevent C: drive access with edge. Do you have any idea , GPO ? ive ever blocked c: drive, hide c: drive, but i really wanna block access to it.Thx a lot !

Ive found how to do, its so simply in fact ! You only need to download ADMX file put it on your server, and active the GPO "block these URL" writing "C:". Then file://C: will be not available.:)source -us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies#urlblocklist

The Discover Button in edge has, to the dismay of many, shown up with the recent batch of updates. Several posts have gone up around the internet about manual ways to adjust this, or even directly via the registry. For those in enterprise environments, it's possible to do directly via Group Policy (GPO). This is preferred over directly assigning registry keys, as the ADMX template controlling this will always be kept up-to-date with the correct registry keys for the setting, while a direct registry may cease to provide the desired result if the developers move away from it for a particular setting. It's easier just to let Microsoft handle keeping track of which policy registry keys do what for you. e24fc04721
