After acquiring roping dummy plans online we were able to successfully assemble our fake calf, Mable. We spent about $25 in materials without the head. Which is way less than buying a roping dummy from the store.

2. A version as if a photo book but with instructions, such as, in places where an image would be, an image that has lettering that says something like, Please replace this image with an image of your own, and in places where text should be, some text such as, Please replace this text with the title of your photo book.

Widening the discussion, could that be done for various publication please, such as My Poems, set up so that someone who has written some poems can straightforwardly produce a document for a printshop to print out. Another example could be "My short story for a handheld device" or whatever the correct naming should be. Each time, three versions, one blank, one explaining what to do, and one a finished example.

I think what you are asking for are two different things: @MG Vau seems to either be requesting a different layout capability for the Pages panel or a stored-workspace feature (which was previously requested a few times), while @William Overington seems to be asking for templates (which Publisher does not yet formally offer but which was also requested a few times), some of which would incorporate a currently non-existent placeholder feature (which I don't think I have seen a request for).

As to the placeholder feature, I believe that would be better served as an option in the View menu ("show placeholders for empty frames" or similar) rather than being something that is specific to a template. That is the kind of thing that might sometimes be useful when working with pre-defined templates but which it would be important to be able to turn off.

I am not sure what is the target purchasing-audience for Affinity Publisher. For example, should it include someone who would like to be an author of, say, a small book of poems who could just buy Affinity Publisher and very quickly produce something - maybe someone with little prior knowledge of using a computer - maybe just having used it for watching videos and ordering shopping.

I want to adjust rows and columns for viewing all pages at once to see transitions and adjust story pacing. Picture books are typically either 24 or 32 pages. Make the viewing/editing layout adjustable.

Having some basic page layout templates for photo books is a feature sorely missing. I design and produce photo books in Lightroom, Graphistudio and other programs and most come supplied with basic layouts that can be customised. Of course you can create your own, but a professionally designed, modifiable starter kit would be a great help.

I usually create a whole new demo with dummy images that contains much fewer items than the original preview. I try to create a page that allows buyers to exactly see how every feature works, without spamming their media depot.

Dummy pictures are "mock" pictures containing text that a real image may later replace. This way, you can create a fully searchable digital archive even if the images are in a traditional picture archive. For example, the text in the dummy images can contain information about where the original image is stored. At a later stage, FotoStation can be used to merge the text in the dummy image with the real image file.

To merge the dummy with a real image and transfer the text from the dummy to the real one, right-click the dummy thumbnail and choose Replace this dummy picture with image file. Then select the image file with which you wish to merge the dummy. A dialog box appears, presenting the following choices:

Delete the selected file after the replace operation: If this box is checked, FotoStation merges the dummy and the selected file into a new file and deletes the originals. Otherwise, the original selected image will remain unchanged. Either way, the dummy is removed.

Apply to all selected. Use same source folder and settings: This option applies only if you have selected many dummy images in your archive. Then, selecting this option makes FotoStation assume that all the files with which to merge the dummy files are located in the same folder. For this feature to work correctly, the dummy images must have the same name as the file with which its text is merged.

Why? An editor asked me to make page breaks on my current manuscript. And know what? I had more page breaks than a 32-page picture book would allow! Whoops. I knew that my manuscript had to fall within the 500- to 800-word length, but I had neglected to pay attention to logical page breaks.

Self-ended means that the printed book block serves not only for the story, but also for the end pages. No additional paper is used to form the book. The printed book block is pasted directly onto the cover.

If the publisher is asking for 14 pages, they probably mean 14 SPREADS. A spread is the full opened book, two pages facing each other as one complete illustration. If they want 28 pages, they probably mean one illustration per page instead of a spread.

Hello,

This information was very useful. I just started writing a book on my own. I have two kids so I am doing it more so because they love hearing my stories. I I figured I could do my best and really put effort into writing this book. Concentration is key!

Cesare, picture book manuscripts should be in Times New Roman 12 pt. font (or other serif font, not a monospaced font like Courier) and double-spaced. Put your last name and title of the project in the header or footer of each page. The first page should have all your contact info in the header: name, address, email, phone number, website if applicable.

Hi Barbara,

Good questions. No, the covers do not count as part of the 32 pages. And when an agent asks for a dummy, they are expecting maybe 2-3 finished spreads (color) and the rest sketches. The words should be on each page. But the art does not have to be fully completed.

HTH, good luck.

Hi Megan, thanks for commenting. Yes, board books do have some variation in page count. Moreover, board books are not necessarily the place I recommend launching a kidlit writing career. Many board book creators are author-illustrators. Also, publishers choose to create board books in-house or from well-performing picture books. In other words, entry into kidlit via board books is extremely difficult.

Hi, when I try to use Puppet Warp, as I place the first pin, the images rotates 180 degrees. The mesh remains in its original postion. I have tried resetting the settings and still no joy, can you please help. thank you.

This appears to be a bug in the latest version of PS that also affects Perspective Warp and other functions. Unfortunately it's elusive and does not occur for all users, so it's hard to pin down. As a start check your hardware acceleration preferences and update your system's graphics driver.

Purpose:  Upfront quality assurance (QA) is considered essential when starting a multicenter clinical trial in radiotherapy. Despite the long experience gained for external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) trials, there are only limited audit QA methods for brachytherapy (BT) and none include the specific aspects of image guided adaptive brachytherapy (IGABT).

Methods and materials:  EMBRACE is a prospective multicenter trial aiming to assess the impact of (MRI)-based IGABT in locally advanced cervical cancer. An EMBRACE dummy run was designed to identify sources and magnitude of uncertainties and errors considered important for the evaluation of clinical, and dosimetric parameters and their relation to outcome. Contouring, treatment planning and dose reporting was evaluated and scored with a categorical scale of 1-10. Active feedback to centers was provided to improve protocol compliance and reporting. A second dummy run was required in case of major deviations (score 152ee80cbc
