On Mac OS, after installing the Canon drivers, open the Printers list and click on the + at the bottom. If a context menu extends from it, select Add New Printer or Scanner. In the Add window, select the entry for the printer, then ensure the correct driver (typically UFR II) is selected in the Use drop-down. Then click Add at the bottom of the window to add the printer.

Hire some software engineers, will you?

It is a comprehensive package that has rpm and debian drivers; in both 32bit and 64bit variants. There is an install script that does all the work for you.

- When using in a network environment

First, configure the network settings using [MF/LBP Network Setup Tool]. After this step is complete, install the printer driver.

- When using with a USB connection

Only install the printer driver.

On another new computer also running Windows 10 I have connected the same printer and installed the drivers from the Canon website (Their description of the drivers being [Windows 64bit] MF249dw/MF247dw/MF244dw MFDrivers (UFR II / PCL / FAX / ScanGear)).
