Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with printing in color even after reinstalling the printer drivers. You need to restart the computer to make it work again. I will be delighted to assist you here.

I don't know if this printer has a bug in Windows 10. I am facing the same issue. Tried to reinstall the driver and reset the printer multiple times. But the problem still persists. Though the PC printing prints in color everytime I reinstall the drivers, until I plug in the USB cable to print wired.

I have exact same problem I went and bought another HP 3835 AS i NEEDED IT for my business, to my horror it was printing in colour and then just stopped!!! why does Hp not have a colour or black option on HP app?

now you off assistance in all this conveluted tasks. my worry is why would that change anything if i delete i off and reload? its no difference from before! it will print in colour for a few days and go back to black!! this is shocking for the size of HP worst is the advise given is totally stupid!!! HP need to sort this out I have HP new printers for my business and i am just going to return them. everyone person i spoke to has same problem!! you have an error on the 3835! it doeesnt matter how many times i delete and restart computer yes its prints colour but in a few hours its back to black!!! HP also have the worst customer care on earth!!! This is shocking!!!!!

And just a suggestion that HP Smart app offers very limited options on Windows. Avoid it! I recommend Printing everything from the inbuilt printing options of software packages, as they provide way more flexibility and options. Though everything should work fine as long as you select the right printer that we configured in printer options.

I faced the similar problem, the re installation would definitely help. But I would suggest if you are in hurry, you can use mobile app "HP Smart" to get the color print over Wi-FI and fix the issue of Windows color printing later.

I am not able to obtain a color print from my HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3835 when connected wirelessly to PC. Though wired printing works fine, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver several times. But all I get is greyscale prints.

I am sorry but as I mentioned that I had done a full deep uninstall of the drivers including your method. Anyway some days later I still retried to do the same and this time my system "printers and scanners"

didn't recognize my printer as HP Deskjet 3835 after reinstalling the driver, instead it has recognized it as a generic Microsoft device as "Microsoft IPP class driver(Network)". And guess what. My printer works fine like a charm wirelessly on PC. I am able to print in color, I am able to set the printing quality, etc etc. Therefore I would say that its a driver issue. I am sure its from HP side as the generic driver works fine. And also the internet and forums are full of the people facing exactly the same issue on this printer. But as of now I am happy.

I think I must return the printer as defective, because I don't have the time and resources to fix something that I bought as new that should have the functionality as specified. HP should have debugged the drivers before they put it on the market!


But ever since I've started using freshly setuped laptop (as well as my revived Asus X540UP, which I also migrated from hdd to ssd), I've been having troubles printing wirelessly with my HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3835 All-in-One Printer.

"Attention required" always pops up each and everytime I would print using my HP Notebook. What I'd do for the printing to proceed would be to turn off the Deskjet then turn it on. After the printer starts up, it resumes and completes the priting task.

On my Asus laptop, "Driver Unavailable" status always appears whenever I add the printer in Windows Setup, or during either basic or full installation the DeskJet's driver/application.

I am having a trouble while trying to print using my HP laptop 15s and HP Deskjet ink advantage 3835 printer by wireless .I already tried trouble shoot by HP print and scan doctor software and I could print test page at the end of trouble shoot and I thought problem is resolved .but after closing the software i can't print anything

Margins in printer-Hp DeskJet ink advantage 3835 all in one printer -- have tried everything but cannot get printer to print according to the margins I set in MS word! Driving me crazy as my previous hp printer worked perfectly.

I understand that you have an HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3835 All-in-One Printer and it does not print according to the margins set in Microsft Word. You have to redo all spacing and layouts on the pages before you print. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

And yes I have no problem with other documents. only those created in MS word. I set paper margins on left at 1cm ( my precious HP printers did that with no problem, but this one will not take less than 1.45cm and that makes it very frustrating as I have so much material already created that printed before without any problem.

That problem was solved after hours of time wasted,by this forum's advice to download another driver (HP 9900) Now I can print MS word documents but for a printer that can do borderless printing I can not understand why it is so difficult to get margins right. It keeps cutting of the Line or side of the page.
