Digging through the forums some have mentioned using the drawing program to act like relations but I can't figure this out. I am stuck at trying to have a drawing parameter = a system parameter. Even if I got this to work I'm not sure if I can simply add the above relation into the drawing program.

Parameter rel_model_name used in drawing proprogram refers to the name of the drawing - it is the same as the &dwg_name used in notes/tables.

It gives an error because there is a space between ":" and "D".

The problem with rel_model_name is that it acts more like a function than a parameter. It can only be called inside relations, and drawing programs are not the same thing as relations. Most relations commands do not work in a drawing program.

Okay, one more idea. If you're okay with using model parameters to drive the information displayed on the drawing, AND you're using Creo 5 or later, you can create a single cell repeat region that has it's contents based on the model's name and something else (like lifecycle state). Not quite the same as a symbol, but might still accomplish what you need: (You could also show or hide this based on the lifecycle state of the model in the drawing program.) For example:

Specifically I am creating a sequence of notes each with only a number (1,2,3,4,5...) that are spaced apart by varying amounts. Shown in the attached image is a ruler example I've created to show the kind of thing I am trying to do.

My initial approach was to create the first note, copy / paste that note, and then edit the note for the next number. SILLY ME!!! How dare I think that highlighting the note and then using the usual CTRL-C / CTRL-V routine would actually work. Anyone that has used windows based software anytime in the last couple decades knows that this is the way it is done but apparently it doesn't work in this one.

So maybe cut and paste is not an option in Creo. So how about incorporating a "MOVE" command where I could then select the note I wanted to copy and it brings up a dialog where you simply check the "copy" check box. Furthermore this dialog could have a text field where you could enter the number of copies you'd like and enter the absolute or relative x and y values that I want to move. THIS IS PURE GENIUS RIGHT?!! As much as I'd like to take the credit for this idea, alas, I can not as this feature has been used in EVERY other CAD software I have every used.

It doesn't help that One note only has 5 GB for free. I really wanna try something else. My last resort would be notion but i heard that you spend more time organising the structures rather than the contents itself and it also doesn't support drawing (Gotta take a pic if u wanna put it in)

We recently received questions about how to adjust the spacing between a SOLIDWORKS drawing note bullet or number and the associated text. The problem is shown in the following image. This becomes even more annoying if there is a very limited space to fit the notes in the drawing sheet.

Hi,

1. For create assembly drawing. In allegro you must visibility package geometry- assembly, refdes - assembly. Then sort refdes.

2. Assembly drawing usualy must larger than dimension board outline. For scale dimension. In allegro you export ->.dxf . Then you use software AutoCad for scale (scale 2X, 3X...). Then import back allegro.

3. In allegro -> Artwork ->create assembly drawing (add subclass drawing format ...)

For item 2, this step is unecessary. You can just create a drawing blank (for the border) at the scale you need, then let the printer plot the page to fit. If you really want to scale the assembly drawing up use the Manufacture - Drafting - Create Detail, set the scale in the options menu then draw a rectangle around the items you wish to scale up. The scaled detail will be on your mouse ready to place.

*If you circle a portion of the drawing with the lasso, a dotted line in motion will surround what's been selected. If you tap and hold part of the drawing, two yellow resize handles will highlight what's been selected and you can move those handles to expand or decrease the selected area.

Add single or multi-line text notes to any drawing, wherever you want, and use them to fill in the title blocks as well. You have the ability to define the size of the text box as well as format the text itself and optionally include a leader or many leaders. You also have the ability to rotate the orientation of the note and create additional leaders.

To add more leaders, right-click the note and select Add leader. A leader automatically appears at the note grip point closest to the mouse location. Drag to a grip point in the drawing and click to place the leader. Repeat as necessary.

You can also Flip a note that is aligned to an edge (accessed through the context menu on the note). Flip rotates the note by 180 degrees and moves it to the other side of the edge. Flip is not available for notes that are not aligned.

Copy and paste notes and notes with leaders from any drawing in any document (including a specific document workspace) to which you have permission and to any drawing in any document (including a specific document workspace) to which you have permission.

I would like to add my vote for opening the source code to the Note app. The layers feature would be great for the reasons mentioned above, but also to allow the AI to pick out text more cleanly from a note when there are drawings/graphs mixed in. Zooming is another very useful feature that could be added.

You can use annotation and drawing markup tools to add comments. Comments are notes and drawings that communicate ideas or provide feedback for PDFs. You can type a text message using the Add text comment tool. Alternatively, you can use a drawing tool to add a line, circle, or other shape and then type a message in the associated pop-up note. Text-editing tools let you add editing marks to indicate changes that you want in the source document.

The most common type of comment is the Add a comment that resembles a sticky note. The comment appears as a note icon on the page and a pop-up note for your text message. You can Add a comment anywhere on the page or in the document area.

To create a cloud or polygon shape, click to create the start point, move the pointer, and click to create each segment. To finish drawing the shape, click the start point, or right-click and choose Complete from the menu. Double-click to end a polygon line.

To draw free-form lines using the Draw tool, drag where you want to begin drawing. You can release the mouse button, move the pointer to a new location, and continue drawing. To erase parts of the drawing, select the Erase a drawing tool and drag across the areas of the drawing that you want to remove.

In Windows, you can determine thefont and the size of text in pop-up notes. In Mac OS,you can select only Large, Medium, or Small settings for the font. This setting applies to all new and existing comments.

Determines the opacity of comment pop-up notes in values from1 to 100. When a pop-up note is open but not selected, an opacityvalue of 100 makes the note opaque, while lower values make it moretransparent.

Aligns pop-up notes with the right side of the document window, regardless of where the comment markup (such as a note icon or highlightingcomment) is added. If this option is deselected, the pop-up noteappears next to the comment markup. Selected by default.

Look no further, I have written some iLogic code that will place a drawing note on your drawing in a pre-defined position. The note will contain the contents of a text file that you you specify. Simply edit the path shown below.

SOLIDWORKS Drawing balloons are meant to be attached to a Bill of Materials (BOM) in the drawing in order to show visually what parts in the drawing views are connected to the line items in the Bill of Materials.

In most cases linking a balloon to a Bill of Materials gives enough information. Every now and then I get asked how to group a balloon to a note so that they move together and, when you delete one, the other is deleted as well. To perform this operation in a SOLIDWORKS Drawing, perform the following steps.

If after grouping a balloon to a note in a drawing you wish to ungroup them, please perform steps 6-9 again except this time click on Ungroup instead of Group. This will separate the balloon from the note.

The benefit of these packages is that drawing a figure is a lot like programming:you can use variables, do calculations, use for loops, etc.Furthermore figures blend in nicely in your document because all text is typeset by LaTeX itself. This means that you can typeset math effortlessly, or that if later on, you decide to change the font of your document, all the figures will change automatically to match the new font.

Within a Miro board I think it would be cool to be able to place a sticky note and then draw on that sticky note. Currently if you do this and try to move the sticky note then the drawing does not move and they are two separate things.

There are two things to think about when you're after the best drawing tablet with a stylus: the tablet and the stylus. Often they'll come bundled together, particularly when it comes to dedicated drawing tablets, but sometime (usually in the case of more general purpose tablets) you'll have to buy the stylus separately. So the first thing to establish is what type of tablet you want to use. To are large extent this will dictate the stylus that you'll use.

When it comes to choosing from the best tablets with a stylus pen there are a lot of brands and models to pick from; it's best to focus on what you need it for, be it digital art, graphic design or digital crafting. In this guide I've listed the best tablets for drawing with a pen as well as those that are good for taking notes.
