This 2022 sci-fantasy drama about the nature of faith, belief and dogma started off strong with the daily life of the disaffected Hong Ji-hyo (Jeon Yeo-been); a woman desperately trying to hide her weird behind a veneer of normalcy. After a strange incident when she was in middle school, Ji-hyo has pursued normalcy as a kind of obsession, prompted in no small part by her father who is determined for her to colour inside the lines.

From its first monologue, Glitch made its philosophical position clear. Neither aliens, nor God, nor magic, nor insanity. Something. Definitely something. But what it was was inexplicable. A glitch in the Matrix.

To my mind, if the aliens were real then the point of the drama was completely undermined. It validates not just the behaviour of our very sympathetic but misguided female lead and her bromantic (romantic?) best friend. It also validates the behaviour of the cult and its followers.

Just finished Glitch and I am OBSESSED. It's not perfect but there's something about it that makes it unique from other kdramas I've watched. The vibes, the plot, the story telling, the mindfck. Iykyk.

Answers are not spoonfed/ Thinking along with the characters -What I love most about glitch is it leaves you on the edge of your seat. The whole time even up until the ending, I was still wondering if aliens are indeed true or everybody be crazy.

Glitch premiered Thursday at the Busan International Film Festival, one day before it will drop on the global streaming platform, which has been home to several blockbuster Korean dramas from Squid Game to Extraordinary Attorney Woo.Advertisement

I just love everything about these new deeply metaphorical, lush and multi-layered dramas we're getting. Oh sure they're balanced out with the usual crop of problematic romcoms but we're getting more and more of these experimental gems. I'm a very happy viewer because of it.

Generally agree with everything here, it's got a few pacing issues, but I love the performances, and it's really willing to be weird, something K-dramas usually lack.

I noticed as well that both the show and the press tour have embraced the ambiguousness of Ji-hyo and Bora's relationship, is it friendship, is it a romance (it hits most of the beats)? That is another layer in the whole thing, Ji-hyo's desperation early on to be "normal" while Bora embraces her differences, and Ji-hyo's realization that being what is expected of her makes her miserable is also a nice little coming out parable.

I loved how weird this drama was and also how funny it was. I'm a ridiculous millennial too, so I identified a lot with the characters and themes. Nana and Jeon Yeo-bin were a great pairing, and it was fun to see both in such different roles.

I didn't actually laugh at anything that happened, and by the end of episode 4 I was hitting fast forward pretty regularly. I just couldn't get into the story, even when the nutters from the cult showed up. The lost-and-found sisterhood friendship was a nice inclusion, definitely an interesting relationship to center a drama around. Maybe I was just too suspicious of everybody who appeared and everything that happened to be able to engage with the story and enjoy it, I don't know. This one bored me.

Objectively, the show could've benefited from being condensed into 8 episodes instead of 10. It got draggy in the first third, and then properly took off midway through. A director like Kim Heewon could've done wonders with the script. The show had a more experimental vibe that is unique for kdramas. It wasn't hard sci-fi, so those who came in looking for a heavy alien storyline will be disappointed. The interjection of humor into tense moments will not work for some (personally, I was hollering aloud frequently at the comedy).

Bora & UFO Crew: I LOVE Bora. She's become one of my favorite kdrama heroines. Bora is smart, feisty, sarcastic, unconventional, and quick-on-her-feet, which are rare traits for kdrama FLs. Her UFO buddies are hilariously inept but endearing in their weirdness. Like @alathe, I would love to hang out with this ragtag Scooby Doo gang.

I have just finished this very weird drama, it was a fun ride. Sci-fi is a favourite gender and questioning reality in a Philip K. Dick way is a even favourite subgender in it, so it was fun to be thinking one minute: "she's insane and it's making this up, to "aliens exist", and then back to: "it's all in her mind".

The show raises questions about moral standards, what it means to be a mother, the legality of abortion, demographic issues, and the role of sex education. This video explores these topics through the use of data and professional analysis. It also asks people in Korea and abroad what they think about these issues and whether controversial storylines in Korean dramas are a step in the right direction or not.

Wow, Glitch's ending really had me questioning my own assessment. It's like the drama took a detour and left me scratching my head.

I was expecting Glitch to be a total binge-worthy experience, but it ended up being a bit slower than anticipated. Had to push through, but hey, I'm committed! Oh and one more thing, yes I agree they are Lesbians.

Glitch isn't just about the construction of reality; it's about Ji-hyo finding herself. It's a journey of self-discovery in a world that isn't designed for her.

The subtle implication of Ji-hyo and Bora being soulmates in a romantic sense adds a whole new layer to the drama. It's about personal truths and Ji-hyo's sexuality. The ending scene with Ji-hyo asking Bora to move in with her is the real happy ending. It's about accepting happiness and finding your tribe.

The way Glitch explores how we construct reality, both individually and in groups, is fascinating. It makes you question your own biases and prejudices.I had high hopes for Glitch, but the ending left me feeling a bit confused. Maybe I need to rewatch and see if I missed something important.Glitch's ending might not be a glitch after all. It's more like a deliberate twist that challenges our assumptions and leaves us wanting more answers.

Do aliens exist? The alien-themed K-drama Glitch on Netflix might convince you to believe so. Be prepared to dive deep into the weird and wild world of sci-fi conspiracies in this Netflix Original, which stars Jeon Yeo-been as Ji-hyo, who can see the extraterrestrial. But when her boyfriend (portrayed by Lee Dong Hwi) disappears under mysterious circumstances, she will do whatever it takes to resolve the case. In pursuit of her search, she teams up with her childhood friend, Heo Bo-ra, a UFO enthusiast.

This sci-fi action comedy marks the debut of acclaimed film director Roh Deok, whose work includes Very Ordinary Couple. Jeon Yeo-been recently played a persuasive attorney in the hit drama Vincenzo. She will also appear in Into Your Time this year. Lee Dong Hwi last appeared in Pegasus Market and will soon star in Casino.

Jeon Yeo-been surpassed her fresh-face reputation in the Korean entertainment industry in the blink of an eye. In part, this is due to her impressive portfolio, which includes her portrayal of a high-flying lawyer in the action-packed K-drama Vincenzo as well as a terminally-ill yet fierce girl boss in the impactful crime-thriller Night In Paradise.

Now that it is pumpkin spice latte season and everyone is patiently waiting for season 2 of that run-a-way hit show Squid Game, Netflix has announced Glitch. This new Korean drama promises some sci-fi feels for an earlier night. The official poster gives it an X-Files feel, while the show's trailer confirms that the categorization Netflix gives it on its platform is definitely suitable: offbeat.

While the show was announced in December 2020, the production seemed to have a few speed bumps along the way. Of course, the pandemic put a slight pause on production. As the days get darker sooner, this quirky sci-fi drama from Korea may be just the thing to curl up with a pumpkin-spiced drink of your choice.

Hi, thanks for taking time to check out my thoughts on the drama. You have rightly pointed out about the weapon. Guns are accessible to users above level 50 only. But regarding playing in anonymity, the answer lies in episode 7. He had the research head, Choi Yang Ju create a secret space for himself unseen by any other user in the game earlier. He must have have done exactly the same thing again (with the help of an insider in the company) until he leveled up and must have decided to reveal himself at a later point of time which is why other users started seeing him lately.

Apparently there will be another male character Ma Hyung Woo. I wonder who the actor for that role is. Anyways i'm so excited for this because of the writer, the comedy thriller genre, the female centric drama, and of course Jeon Yeo Bin.

its also frustrating that you cant apply to any channels which are visible for VIKI PLUS members, but nor for Standart Pass members. And when you maybe see a drama licensed later most of the time already there is a CM, which is not okay.

What is the logic behind this? Why cant we non PLUS Members apply anymore on any channels we want?
