Diner Dash is a flash-based puzzle game where you play Flo, a restaurant owner. In order to succeed in business, she must keep her diner running smoothly by seating guests and serving them well. There are several different types of customers, and each poses their own challenge. The default customer is a white woman who eats and loses patience at an average rate. All of the other customers can basically be measured against them. Other types include Senior Citizens (old white men) who are very patient but eat slow and hold everything up, Bookworms, who are just like the seniors but are less tolerant of noise around them, Families with crying babies, and impatient, fast-eating Businessmen (who, after Diner Dash 1, start yakking away on cell phones and pissing off everyone around them). And then there are the Businesswomen.

When playing the first game I found it slightly funny and slightly annoying that the worst customers to deal with were the ABWs. But then in DD 2 they gave the Businessmen cell phones, making them even worse than the ABWs. Yes, they are impatient and eat really fast, throwing off my timing (even more than the women) but since they talk on cell phones, they can disturb the other diners, resulting in a lot of hassle in seating them. Bastards.

Flo and Grandma then head to the baseball park to watch a game, but attendance is poor. The park's diner is lackluster too, as Flo and Grandma hear a customer complain about the hot dog he waited for 30 minutes having turned cold. They then revive the baseball park and bring it to its former glory.

The basic premise of Diner Dash is that Flo, the proprietress, acquires a run-down diner after leaving the rat race of the business world. If she succeeds at making her first few customers happy with good service and brings in more business, she can upgrade the dcor and make a go of her new enterprise.

You are a woman named Flo, (no not that Flo who sells insurance) but instead, you work at a stock market company located in Dinertown. Flo has had it with the stock market and feels burned out on that career. She quits her job and spots an old diner that is falling apart. Flo decides to buy it and magically has enough money to fix it up too. She must have done very well in the stock market.

Flo begins to become very successful in running her diner and opens up new restaurants and locations. (The beauty of capitalism!) She becomes so successful that she opens up a restaurant in a dark forest and it becomes a big hit. This is where Diner Dash gets wild and takes a turn I never saw coming. I had to confirm this with my wife because I thought it was some prank after reading the plot. (My wife is the one who played the game) Anyway, this is all true!
