Demon Hunter X allows you to do just that; at least, in the East, and in theWorld of Darkness. I actually liked the looks of this book somuch that I picked up Vampire - on sale - and then Kindred of the East to ensure that the rules were compatible. Unfortunately, as itturns out, the only thing that you need to play is any White Wolfcore rulebook and this, although Kindred of the East will, of course, be awfully helpful. (To further explain my spendingspree, I had more money that was technically good for me at thetime.)

It's a great book, although the stuff about Strike Force Zerolags in comparison to the shih. The book opens with a history of the shih and their methods. The instutition of a wandering hunter of theundead goes all the way back to before the Kuei-Jin were vulnerableto sunlight; as a matter of fact, it was the first shih, Wan Kung Yi, who insituted that particular curse. His story istold in a rather oblique fashion; monks aren't Shao-Lin, or Wu-Tang,but simply "monks", and his story is shy on stuff like propernames for various locations. (Most stories are very careful tokeep track of the names of various places and items, mind you,but that's just nitpicking.) After defeating the Kuei-Jin in anenormous battle, Yi passed along his mantle to a legion of followers,who then diffused through the Middle Kingdom and kept the supernaturalpopulation under control. Over the years, they've become the equivalentof a supernatural police force, one that's more interested inkeeping the peace than killing every supernatural they stumbleacross.

Strike Force Zero, on the other hand, is out of its depth. Althoughthe book doesn't reveal it until the GM section - and spoilersapply, here - Strike Force Zero is an arm of the Technocracy,tasked with wiping out the supernatural in the Middle Kingdom.They've got strike teams, they've got cybernetics, they've gotmoney, they've got a communication network. They're also mostlyignorant of what they're facing, and while they do have the guns,the thing that they're fighting aren't always fazed by a fullmagazine of automatic rifle fire. I believe that the idea hereis to simulate, to some degree, anime - where five bright andperky team members fight against a foe that always go down ona magnum load in minute twenty-four of the show. In the case ofDemon Hunter X, three of the five are killed in the opening comic, and onlyone gets out in something even remotely resembling good shape.It's the bubblegum world of bubblegum anime butting up againstthe unpleasantness of the World of Darkness. Most of the focushere is on the slow exploration, culminating with a gun battleagainst some kind of belligerent sack of foulness that just vomited itselfout of a sewer - like Call of Cthulhu with BFGs. There's a lot of comfortable stereotypes here, likethe Yakuza hitman gone legit, or the technical wizard who's alwaysfiddling with some kind of fancy device, or the rogue with a heartof gold - there's even a list of anime stereotypes in the backof the book, for those who want to play a true anime-style campaign.There's also notes that could be used in-game to hand out to players,from a Strike Force Zero standpoint, and a description of thehigher-ups in Strike Force Zero; the leader has had a bad experiencewith what I assume are Wyrm-corrupted Corax. (Or maybe the Coraxare just mean around that area.)

So, last week I finally got around to playing Diablo III.

Not sure what took me so long. You would think a game where you get to run around in a dark forest and shoot demons in the face with a crossbow would be right up my alley, right?

I played some trial characters, I liked the demon hunter and the druid, maybe also a hunter. Tell me if I choose a druid, what specialization should I choose? And what advantages or disadvantages will I have compared to a demon hunter?

First up is her chest armor

I figured that I could build the chest in layers and not use foam in between to save a little money. So I started of by making a one layers base shape.

And really, what better time to become a Demonhunter than now, in anticipation of after the crossbow-wielding, Vampire-hunting Dawnguard's rapid approach awesome arrival?

As far as the Dragonborn DLC goes, two spells in particular take the absolute crowd control cake and round out your defensive capabilities to a degree we couldn't have ever hoped for after the first DLC already provided so many wonderful toys for our offense. Nothing could make a Demonhunter happier than a brand new Rune to add to his or her arsenal, and Ash Rune is the ultimate oh-shit button at that, enabling you to take the fastest and/or most resilient enemies out of the equation entirely while you deal with their pals. And for the Demonhunter who doesn't want to be bothered with the arduous task of pushing a button every time he wishes to hurl close-by enemies back to the outskirts of Eatmorearrowsville, there's always Whirlwind Cloak: a passive ability to activate and watch save your ass repeatedly as its chance to fling enemies who close in back to the range they're unlikely to survive the journey from again takes effect. Oh, and Dragonborn also provides us with Nordic Carved Armor, which I do believe I've forgotten to mention is simply a beautiful sight to behold when paired with an Adept Hood. Just sayin'!

And now, to conclude this update to my now (5x-over!) Legendary Build here, I'd like to give credit to Diablo III for the look/design inspiration, though my build has a far more close-ranged-capable, tanking focus than what I've heard of that game's similarly named version (and though mine was born of my desire to combine the well-known Paladin and Witchhunter archetypes moreso than actually attempting to bring that game's class to this game's realm). And lastly, I'd like to thank the ridiculous amount of people who have surprised me in the best of ways, embracing this idea I've put forth and turning it into one of this site's most beloved builds. I'm still awed, incredibly grateful, and inspired to keep them coming!
