The music of Deltarune comprises multiple soundtrack albums created and scored by Toby Fox. The first soundtrack album was released on Bandcamp on November 1, 2018, a day after the game was launched.[1] In collaboration with Fangamer, Fox released the first chapter's soundtrack on vinyl in 2019.[2]

Adam Luhrs of RPGFan reviewed the soundtrack of Chapter 1 and described it as ranging "up and down the history of video game music" and also noted how the soundtrack "mash[es] disparate elements together". Luhrs also stated that there's "[a] thread of darkness and mystery that weaves through the soundtrack", citing that some of the tracks made him feel "uneasy". Luhrs said that the soundtrack "has a complete arc", and said that the included tracks "spark of creativity and clever thematic structure".[5] The soundtrack for Chapter 1 was nominated for a G.A.N.G. / MAGFEST People's Choice Award in 2019.[6]

DELTARUNE Chapter 1 OST is the official soundtrack for the first chapter of Deltarune. It was released on Bandcamp on November 1, 2018,[1] on Spotify on November 20, 2018,[2] and on iTunes on November 23, 2018.[3] The OST was solely composed by the creator of the game, Toby Fox.

A few days ago, I made this post. In short, it was a form for people to fill out comparing the soundtracks of Undertale and Deltarune. In total, 26 (including me) people submitted to the form, 1 of which I removed for being an outlier. So thank you to all those people! The form is still here if you want to fill it out, I'll make updates when more people submit.

Alphys vs. Girl Next Door

- Alphys: 6 (27%)

- Girl Next Door: 16 (73%)

- Undecided: 3

Noelle wins the Matchup of the Horny CharactersTM in fairly dominant fashion. While I didn't expect this one to be quite so decisive, Alphys' theme is honestly not anything special. Well, besides its leitmotif being used in Bird That Carries You Over A Disproportionately Small Gap, which is commonly considered a top 3 song on the Undertale soundtrack.

Those were all of the character themes, and Deltarune once again comes out on top, winning 3 out of 6 matches, with Undertale only winning 1. However, the overall point margin was pretty close this time as well, with Deltarune only getting 6 more votes than Undertale, winning this category 68-62. While it would seem like Deltarune has the clear better soundtrack, we have yet to cover the most largest, and most important, category...

Enemy Apporaching vs. Rude Buster

Enemy Approaching: 0 (kek)

Rude Buster: 23 (100%)

Undecided: 2

If there was going to be a 100% win in this post, it was always going to be this one. I've always considered Enemy Approaching to be an underrated song, but Rude Buster is probably the single biggest reason why a lot of people prefer the Deltarune soundtrack over its predessecor.

Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans vs. It's Pronounced "Rules"

STMPWYFS: 9 (39%)

It's Pronounced "Rules": 14 (61%)

Undecided: 2

I am surprised and glad that Rouxls won this matchup. STMPWYFS is good, but it is ultimately mostly a sped up version of sans., and is also not used in the game. It's Pronounced "Rules" is improved a lot by how fittingly pompus it is, and by the fact that it has the best track name out of the entire soundtracks.

Your Best Nightmare vs. Chaos King

Your Best Nightmare: 19 (79%)

Chaos King: 5 (21%)

Undecided: 1

This was the only question where I strongly disagreed with the results. Your Best Nightmare is interesting, it goes hard and it's cool how it syncs with the battle, but it just doesn't, you know, sound that good. A lot of the instrumentation serves the atmosphere a lot more than it does the actual quality of the song, the transitions are just static and the Your Best Friend segments don't really sound climactic in the slightest. Chaos King pulls off its leitmotifs better, and the The Legend segment is one of the best parts of any soundtrack, ever. My theory is that Your Best Nightmare got its votes inflated because the Omega Flowey fight is so much more memorable than the King Spade fight and because "Your Best Nightmare" is a cool name.

Finale vs. Knock You Down !!

Finale: 18 (82%)

Knock You Down !!: 4 (18%)

Undecided: 3

Undertale dominates the final phase music, as the *good* Omega Flowey theme (looking at you Your Best Nightmare voters) wins with a whopping 82% of the votes. Knock You Down !! is not a bad theme by any means, but it is still one of the weaker of the Queen's themes. Finale nails the epic, heroic, anime ending music, and the last 30 seconds of this track might be my favourite part of the entire Undertale soundtrack.

Overall, Undertale dominated the battle themes, winning 10 out of the 16 matchups, while Deltarune only won 5. Undertale also won with the points tallying up to 188-133, with a differential of 55 points. But is that enough to give Undertale the win for the overall soundtracks?

This album includes 46 songs from Toby Fox's soundtrack for the second chapter of DELTARUNE on two colorful records. The cover and the printed inner sleeves feature art by Ade, and each one comes with a bonus Flat Ralsei sticker. e24fc04721
