Ezy-Axis deer call creates the sound of Axis buck screaming. The scream represents a bucks dominance, location, and willingness to fight or breed. Every axis hunter should carry the Ezy-Axis deer call to help increase hunting success rate.

We had used our elk reel design to call in numerous mule deer before the idea to widen it and deepen the tone hit us. It took only a few variations to get working Buck Reel prototypes together. We took a dozen to Wisconsin and spent 23 consecutive days in a tree on two farms. What happened was pure non stop calling action. I called in dozens of bucks some multiple times.12 prototypes netted 7 archery bucks in 3 weeks for the testers. Since then we have refined the design further. It is now the most magical North American deer call we have ever used.

We made some tweaks to the design inside the sound board to produce a little higher pitch for the elks smaller cousins. You will love the simplicity of use, playability and consistency of this call. Never fear bad notes again!

I wanted to get more calls to share with family and friends and after checking several times throughout the year for a couple of years at several sporting goods stores, the story was either they were sold out or the maker had not made any more yet.

There is a lifetime warranty on the calls if the reed happens to slip or gets stuck and on the craftsmanship of the call. I will fix or replace the call free of charge. Just return the call to:

I guess electronic calls are now legal for deer. I want to get one because my feeble attempts to use a manual call just sound like I'm playing the kazoo. Also, someone suggested getting an outdoor bluetooth speaker and playing the calls through that. Brilliant! I hadn't considered doing that.

Ive tried most of them, they all suck. Personally Id rather have an e-caller with a remote. You can put it a short distance away from you, maybe 10 or 20 yards, then if and when the deer come to it, their attention isnt focused directly on you (had that very thing screw me a few times).

I have an app called "whitetail deer calls" there's like 20 different calls.. I really have only used doe bleats and doe contact calls which are nice and short 2-3 seconds long...... there is a nice grunt that I used this year to a 2.5 year old buck about 50 yds away when I forgot my grunt tube one night.. he lowered his head and trashed a small tree in front of me but didn't come any closer than 50 yds.. pretty cool experience

Not to bust chops/balls where can I find information as to useing Electronic deer calls in NY.I was talking just the other day about calls with my nephew and told him that the elec deer call are illegal in NY,

I killed my 11pt this year when it came to whitetail deer calls app. Mild doe bleat.. 30 sec long call. As for the quality.. deer seem to be the judge of that..it works called in several small bucks with it as well. Like camo appeals to the hunter (deer see it completely different) so do sounds of deer tube type calls.. imo actual recordings cannot be out done.

If someone has problems making decent calls or just wants ease of not having to carry more crap with them.. it's a great alternative.. it's a rattle bag .bleat.grunt. roar, exectera. ALL IN ONE! Less to.carry = more enjoyment for some.

Wanted to revisit this issue. Has anyone tried using a portable bluetooth speaker connected to their phone to use a deer calling app? Yesterday, I used a grunt call and then had to freeze for two minutes when the buck looked in my direction in reaction to the call. I was thinking if I had a bluetooth speaker 10-20 yards in front of me, that would be better.

When the temperatures get cold, this is the call you want to have in the stand. This call is an "inhale" operated call, preventing you from filling the call with moist air that can freeze up at the time you need it the most. It's small and stores conveniently in your pocket taking up little space. This call delivers an exceptional sound with great volume and is sure to get the attention of the buck you're after.

Harvest check-in is simply a phone call away, or you can report your success online. Several measurements (listed on the back of the permit) are required before either method of check-in can be completed.

If you hunt big game outside of Kentucky, you may not bring any member of the deer (Cervidae) family, which includes deer, elk, moose, caribou, reindeer and any hybrids, back into Kentucky unless the brain and spinal column have been removed.

This can consist of doe and buck sounds that I refer to as the yelp of deer calling. The yelp is the most often used turkey call due to its ease of duplicating the sound with a call, as well as its effectiveness in bringing the animal into range. The same goes for using social grunts or doe bleating.

The most common sound for a buck is the social grunt. This is a call that bucks will make by grunting. It is nothing loud or exciting, instead it is a sound that is used to communicate with other deer. This sound is not intended for any breeding purpose, more so just a nonchalant communication call to let other deer know his location and presence. This is one of my favorite calls to make all year long. Performing this sound while hunting creates curiosity from other deer, as well as provides a sense of comfort by letting other deer in the area know that they have company.

As for the doe, the bleat is the preferred social call. It, too, is used as a communication call to other deer, especially fawns. This is a sound that a doe will make so that the fawns always know her location. This call can also be made to relax other deer in the area. The social calls are sounds that hunters can make periodically while hunting, and when done right, they will sound like a real deer.

Blowing a call two or three times without any thought is not good calling. Listen to various YouTube videos and recordings of actual deer sounds. Mimic those sounds by using little air to produce the sound, I also occasionally close my eyes when calling to visualize an actual deer making the sounds. This helps create realism, which makes calling more successful.

The next grunt to master is the tending grunt. This is the sound a buck will make when he has finally found a doe that is ready to breed. In my opinion, this call is the most important when it comes to realism. This sound is a deep sound that begins with a low guttural sound then is followed by a louder deep grunt sound. This sound can mean a couple of different things. It can be made as a sign of dominance to other bucks as well as to show off to the doe he is getting ready to tend. It can also be made if the doe is ready to breed but is playing hard to get by not letting the buck breed her. When the doe is playing hard to get, this sound will be made in anger. This is where using inflection in the grunt call can help add realism in calling. By making a realistic sounding tending grunt, other bucks in the area think another buck is attempting to breed a doe. Thus causing dominant bucks in the area to come in to chase off the buck and tend to the doe himself.

Since the meaning of different deer vocalizations has been explained, it is time to learn to make these sounds. All you need is a quality grunt call that produces the most realistic sounds and practice. A grunt call choice that I have found to be realistic is the The Rut Pack 3 from Duel Game Calls. This kit includes the Double Back Grunt Call which features an adjustable soundboard with seven different positions to create sounds ranging from a fawn to a mature buck. This call is used by exhaling on one end for louder sounds that are intended to carry a long distance and inhaling on the other side to create realistic, subtle quiet calls that are made due to the dual resonating chamber that helps make the most authentic deer sounds. The second call of this two-pack kit is the Micro Heat Bleat Call. This call is smaller in size and sound but produces realistic doe grunts, bleats and even estrus bleats. Both calls are also covered in Mossy Oak Break-Up Country.

In the world of competitive turkey calling, there has been a noticeable change that has taken place over the last 10 years, that being the high level of competition. The sounds that are produced on stage nowadays are so realistic and authentic that it is almost breathtaking to listen to. This was all done using quality calls that are available on the market, as well as an understanding of realism by the callers of the sounds, and hours of practice. This same level of calling can be achieved on a deer call as well.

When the rut arrives you can continue on with your pre-rut calling strategy; simply raise the frequency and intensity of it all. During those couple weeks of peak rutting activity bucks are in perpetual search of females, while also fighting off any and all competition. Contact grunts, buck growls, and snort wheezes are all effective, but you can be louder and more aggressive with all of the above.

In addition to grunts, rattling now truly comes into form, especially in areas with lower hunting pressure and higher numbers of mature bucks. In these areas where bucks often need to fight to secure rights to breed a female, a rattling sequence can lure in bucks looking for action. Rather than the pre-rut tickling of tines, it now makes sense to replicate a full blown fight with aggressive hits and rattles with your antlers, thrashing of brush, and maybe even a snort wheeze or two added in as well. Rattling can be done at random intervals, regardless of deer sightings, or as a long-distance attention getter when you spot a buck at a far range.

The only exception to this is if you have a second rut situation, where a young doe comes into heat late. If this happens and bucks all of a sudden find themselves in competition for breeding rights, you can again turn to your rut calls and possibly have success. 006ab0faaa
